value for money and cleanliness
Clean spacious rooms, lovely restaurant in the building, great staff, access to kitchen & laundry made this a great stopover to get to the Cliffs of Mohr
For us the price was fine..but others used to hostel prices would find the rates more expensive than usual
Great location very nice helpful people
Ideal for us as we were on a budget but still want a very good standard of cleanliness, convenience and comfort. There was a fantastic restaurant attached to the hostel which served delicious food from a wide-ranging menu.
Good location and friendly staff
That we arrived late in the evening, around 10.00 pm, and that the cafe adjacent was closed for food. It's tourist season in Ireland there should be some food, even if only a limited choice, available later in the evening.
Super friendly staff right from the start - gave good vibes. Pleasantly surprised towel was provided.
Wifi sucked at times
The value, the location, the beautifully appointed rooms with their TALL ceilings, and the pleasant, friendly staff.
The make-your-own continental breakfast. I didn't mind that, nor did I mind washing my own plates and cups, but was not enthused watching pre-teen boys washing up their own plates...without soap and possibly hot water:)
Very plesent staff
Everything, the staff where amazing, the resturant is excellent and good value for money, everyone is so welcoming at Rowan Tree, you can see it is a very popular hostel, simply by the amount of people who were staying every night! Suits all ages, from young to old!
Rowan Tree is a well run hostel. Great location, clean, and safe. Lovely view of the river from our room.
wonderful and completely new. spacious rooms with big bathroom. absolutely brilliant
Excellent restaurant right next door. Easy access to quaint town. Clean. Great community kitchen.
No wifi in rooms. No parking. Shower was weak.
Great staff, very friendly and willing to help me in anything I needed. Great location, clean, comfortable and large (and clean) kitchen was a plus!
clean and comfortable welcoming staff I lucked out with quiet roommates in the 10 suite restaurant is delicious
Good breakfast, free access to the internet,a good breakfast
Loved everything about it! Clean, friendly, efficient! They even gave us a free gourmet brownie in our room upon our arrival. Our 2 boys had 6 bunk beds to choose from! Cafe on bottom floor was outstanding. Location was excellent- right on a lovely river. Easy to walk to restaurants and shops. Plus we were able to catch up on laundry as machines were available on site. I would stay here again if we travel to this part of Ireland (& would look forward to it).
rooms Great restaurant central
Excellent location, riverside cafe on grounds with a short stroll to town centre. Reception staff very helpful.
My family of 3 stayed at this hostel overnight on our route to Cork from Galway. There was a double bed and a double Decker bunk bed in the room and towels provided but no soap nor shampoo. Room 206 has views of the canal which was quite nice. (pity the room windows don't open fully) There was breakfast included and they provided bread, scones, cornflakes, fruits but all self serve. Don't expect a full Irish breakfast or bacon and eggs unless you want to buy it from the Supermarket and cook /prepare it yourself using the communal kitchen. Communal kitchen was very clean and so was the communal room where guests can surf Internet (wifi only on ground floor not rooms) or eat their food. There was a hostel cafe which seemed popular and we would have tried it if we didn't already have our own food!
Very Basic accommodation but very good considering it's a hostel.
Superb facility all round. No complaints. Amazing value for money.
A car parking space would have been a bonus
