Salthill Hotel  

The location and the friendly staff.

We stayed in room 102 on the 1st floor, this room was very dark without any view whatsoever due to a metal wall being 6 foot from the room window, it was like being in an inside cabin of a sailing ferry. I would still recommend this hotel to other travellers but I would stress that they should avoid room 102 and adjacent rooms.

I found the hotel excellent in every way,especially as it is on the promenade. The local bus stops outside the hotel every half hour and it is only a ten minute journey to the Centre. If the weather is wet,you can always spent some time in the leisure centre which is very clean and the staff is always very courteous and helpful. . The rooms way very quiet,as I had requested and the breakfast staff could not have been more helpful. All in all a very pleasant place to stay.

The hotel was nice and clean with a lovey garden across the road and the sea shore opposite.

I was dissapointed with the value for money. There was no iron or ironing board in the room, there was a big shower but no bath, there was very little teabags coffee milk and sugar in the room.. At breakfasttime we were seated at our table and had our cereal finished before anyone came to ask if we wanted tea coffee and toast, the scrambled egg was cold and the bacon was greasy and burnt. It was our first time there and deffinatly our last, We travel to Galway often and I must say this is not a hotel I would recommend to anyone

Great location. Spacious room. Wonderful Pool / Leisure facilities.

Mattress and pilows very hard. Net curtains had cigarette burn-holes and butts were on exterior window sill. Mediocre breakfast and service.

I loved the whole package at the salthill hotel . On our arrival , I loved the decor in the lobby . The reception staff were so friendly. Our rooms were fab with sea view;). The bar had a lovely atmosphere and the food was really nice . The leisure centre was very clean . I loved my trip there .

excellent customer service. i booked it for my parents for xmas. i live overseas and they were extremely helpful with the booking. When my parents arrived they had a welcome note from me on the computer screen in the room!!!

Great location along the coast with Atlanic views, Check in staff very helpful. Leisure center facilities were great.Taxi service to Galway city great. Walking distance to Salthill center.

On arrival on New Years eve our room was only made up for 1 persom we had to ask for more shower gels and towels. We had lunch in the bar and waited almost 30 min before some one took our order, that eve we had dinner in the bar and after 20 mins waiting we had to call some one to take our order , the staff do not identify with customer when they come into the bar , at one stage when we were waiting for someone to take our order we counted 6 people behind the bar and this was a 7;45pm before it got busy. On our 2nd day staying in the hotel we had to ring to reception twice to get the heating in our room turned on, it was freezing and the heating had been turned off , again on the morning we were checking out we had to ask again for the heating to be turned on..

The staff were friendly and helpful they made our stay more enjoyable

The breakfast was fine but not very good - not up to the standards of a hotel that price.
