This hotel is clean, the staff are friendly enough, their breakfast is really good. Location wise, it is really close to the Aviva and the Dart Station and just a little walk away to Sandymount Village. The area is 'well to do' and safe. This is a decent place to stay if you are looking for a nice hotel to base yourself. Parking is included which a a bonus. It's also very family friendly.
This hotel can be noisy sometimes. The walls are pretty thin compared to some of the newly built hotels around. So it helps to ask for a quiet room. It gets very busy during rugby matches and the price of the rooms has increased dramatically over the last year.
I love the family feel to this hotel. On arrival there is no large noisy impersonal foyer. On leaving I heard the early morning crackle of a fire just lit by a member of staff near reception. Very relaxed family feel. I am coeliac (Gluten - free) diet and I can always get a Gluten free chowder or soup with GF bread at the bar throughout the day - it is also quite a decent size bowl. You always get a feeling that the staff are happy in this hotel and that they are treated well by their managers. Beds are comfortable- love the bath even if it is small. Love that I can control the heat in my room. Lovely quiet vicinity and great parking with easy access out to main Rds. My favourite hotel in Dublin.
I love staying in this hotel but unfortunately their prices have rocketed and I have only been able to stay this month due to special offers in winter months. I attend acupuncture meetings in the hotel every month and would love to stay each month if prices remained within my budget. It would also encourage me to stay an extra night.
We were very impressed with the food and service in "The Lineout Bar"
Everything was very good.
Receptionist could be a little more friendly when answering phone
Very clean and comfortable. Booked early so got a good rate. Taxi service organised was very good. Food was delicious.
More signs needed as layout was very confusing. Didn't like that you'd to check in on FB and have it posted to profile to use wifi.
room was a bit small as we had a third bed we didn't need. *at checkout my bill was incirrectly charged with some bar restaurant bill that had been added to our room
Close to DART.
Smell of fat in the bar.
The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is not part of a chain. I have stayed many times and usually on my own, but this time I booked a junior suite as I was travelling my husband and we enjoyed the extra space very much.
Location to venue for the week
Building works, not advertised when booking, cost of breakfast, staff could be friendlier
Two mins walk to the aviva serve food on match day plenty of bars inside and out on match day free parking!! Great atmosphere
Weak wifi signal. Some vending machines would be good as we were opposite end of hotel bit of a walk back to the bar for drinks
The staff were very wecoming, helpful & friendly. It is an old style hotel with a window in the bathroom, with natural light, which I liked. A change from the usual. I had a lovely dinner in the bar. I liked being in Sandymount so close to the strand to be able to walk there. Proximity to RDS for the Craft Fair on Sunday. Lovely walk to Dublin City from there. Proximity to DART Station.
Receptionist as I was checking out was v friendly
Staff unfriendly, hotel v cold, li ft took me to building site as renovations taking place, builders and painters breakfasting in their working boots/clothes wth guests! Breakfast cold and v dry at 9am!
The hotel looks fantastic and despite the renovation in progress our stay was mostly enjoyable and there was no effect to our comfort. We loved the Christmas decoration and spacious room.
Convenient for the dart. Beside the aviva Stadium. Clean and well run Hotel.
Bar staff seemed disinterested. Forgot our order and the we had to return to the bar to remind staff of our change. No apology or understanding of customer service. Bar was not very busy.
atmosphere in the hotel
Location near Dart station and walking distance to Sandymount Village. Close to City centre yet felt like suburb, relaxing bar, friendly staff.
Room was very warm at arrival, but that was easily regulated.
The reception rooms were all very nice and comfortable. The hotel was only 15 minutes drive to the ferry port.
The room we were allocated the bathroom was discussing, it had lots of mold. We were given another room after complaining.
food was very good would return .
The room was small and very noisey
Everything, location, staff and spotless
long walk to room down a million corridors, the double was a bit small but on a previous visit we got a much larger one ,but functional and spotless
comprehensive approval of the hotel; good range at breakfast and alternative items, if required, promptly cooked to order; if anything needs attention in guest room, again, promptly seen to; quiet location in a good quality area within easy reach of city centre by public transport or on foot.
Always a pleasure to stay, nothing is too much trouble.
