New clean building
Bad room ventilation!
The location is very good, near a bus station, and the center of the city
Everything was good! Great location. The room was clean so was the common room. This is by far the best hostel I have ever stayed! Highly recommended!
location, cleanliness, fair price, strong wi-fi
The staff were all lovely and didn't mind going out of their way to help if I had a problem. The rooms were always lovely and clean and there were plenty of plugs to charge stuff with. The lockers under the bed were spacious and secure-- bring your own lock or buy one at the desk for a fiver. Also the use of the luggage room after check-out was nice.
The only thing I didn't like was the price of laundry €8! But I usually found someone to go halves with as the machine was big enough
Unbeatable value, clean, convenient and ideal for a group o friends! :-)
Small beds for a tall man!
This hostel was designed with travellers properly in mind. My 4-bed female dorm had mirrors, plenty of plug points, tables, storage space and several different lights (rather than one big light that would wake everyone up) and a fantastic bathroom (great warm shower with plenty of space). The coffee was good too and the staff were really helpful. The room, and bathroom within it, were kept beautifully clean and hopefully the hostel will stay this way long-term.
Personally I found the bed too hard and the pillow wasn't great but the structure of the bed was well designed (bunks were slightly closed in so it feels more private). Breakfast wasn't great (just cereal, bread for toasting and juice) so I went out for breakfast both mornings.
The rooms are equipped well. Each bed has its own light and plug. Check in&out process was also very simple. Warm room.
The shower drain was not in its best condition.
I loved the way the staffs are friendly, easy going, i love the way in the common room isn't too big or too small, excellent value for money and I seriously advice people to try it out it would be worth it
The staff and the facilities were great.
There is no party vibe in this hostel. Some of the people staying there are very strange.
eveyything was great
Really nice and helpful staff, lovely hostel, clean room and bathroom, comfy bed, nice people ..can't ask for more!
Maybe breakfast was a bit limited (only toast, cereal, tea and coffee)
the beds were comfortable and the hostel / hotel is in a great location
families and people looking for permanent work live here so its very noisy and the rooms very in cleanliness and comfort
Friendly welcome, excellent location, wonderful coffee too!
Nothing! It was more a hotel than a hostel for sure!
Very clean and friendly Felt secure as well for me and my things.
Bed was not very soft but blanket was wArm.
I have only started staying in hostels this year. Normally when I pay a basic price I expect basic quality. Savoy Hostel pushes over value for money. You'd swear you were staying in hotel when you walk into this place. The sofas in the common room are extremely comfortable, the kitchen utilities are amazing, free computer access, very friendly and helpful staff, outrageously clean... I could go on and on but all I need to say is everything in this hostel is perfect and I will be staying there from now on whenever I visit Galway.
Nothing at all.
Clean, ample luggage space, good bathrooms.
The staff were friendly, the place was clean it was bright and vibrant. Was close to city centre. They had good communication with other companies when wanting to book tours. One of the top 5 hostels I've stayed in.
i liked that it was very clean, the spacious bath and sitting areas
there was nothing
Common room was a good place for breakfast and it had a good selection.
I was woken up by other guests at 3am over 2 pairs arguing. Other than that it was perfect.
Excellent new hostel in the heart of Galway city. Really friendly staff and great quality facilities. I really liked the individual USB chargers above the beds, got me out of a hole when running low on juice for my iphone.
If I were to be extremely picky I'd say that some suger for the free tea and coffee during the day would be nice, but that will not stop me coming back in two weeks.
I was told Savoy is one of the newest hostels in Galway. It's located right off Shop Street, where all the action is happening, and only a few blocks away from Eyre Square. I was in a 6-bed female ensuite. The room was of good size. The beds were foam and very comfortable. Each bed had a reading light, 2 plugs, and 2 USB plugs. This was seriously the most modern bed setup I've experienced in a hostel! The room included a little vanity with a hairdryer. The bathroom was a very good size. The common spaces were nice and new. They had board games available. The breakfast was included; the typical continental breakfast. The staff was so friendly! They helped me figure out what cities next and how to get there, what coaches were most affordable etc.
We had a little mix up when I checked in. I was accidentally given a room that hadn't been cleaned yet. They took care of it within 30 mins. In the meantime, I just put my stuff in the luggage room (free of charge) and walked the city My bed and room was ready when I returned!
staff very helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble bed was very comfortable facilities for cooking brilliant and plenty of utensils
unfortunately on my second night a couple of teenagers shared my dorm one of them came in at 2am went out and came in again at 4am i didnt get much sleep as she put the main lights on both times
