The location was perfect for going to the theatre and for shopping. Within walking distance to Grafton street. Being able to leave the car in the hotel car park.
The appointments. Old fashioned details. The building.
Just a bit far without motor transport.
Hotel has great character. Friendly and helpful staff. Having the bar and restaurant next door - excellent breakfast and charming hostess Siobhan; great restaurant and service. The location is very quiet and just 10 minutes walk to the cacophony of Dublin.
Building: beautiful design in rooms and restaurant; comfortable rooms Restaurant: food was amazing
Management: poor communication on events at location (inaccessibility to only restaurant, etc.). Don't deal with issues in the warmest manner...
Quality maintained although character of building preserved!
Food was great staff very friendly could not have been more helpful complimentary paper was a nice touch The restaurant and bar areas very relaxing and the decor was extremely nice we had dinner and it was superb and we were not hurried as is the norm background music was playing bit at a nice volume so you could talk all in all a very good experience
Lovely hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice food in the bar and good atmosphere.
Staff friendly and efficient, quiet, comfortable, well serviced rooms, masses of hot water and fairly central
Everything about this place was above average. The best part was the above and beyond service from Kate at reception. She was excellent!!! She came in early for her 7am shift to help us with some travel directions. Thank you again Kate.
Novel place to stay. Nice size room, comfortable bed, great shower. Staff very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our visit here overall.
It was near some historic areas and pubs, however, it's a bit off the beaten track.
Quiet although central Walk along canal Parking included Intimate feel with interesting architecture compared to large hotels
Restauarant food was terrible - some could not be eaten eg mushroom mix served with steak Food very over priced for poor quality this is a pity because a lovely place and architecture Would never eat there again unless offered free sample to check standard has improved - get a different chef and stop adding €5 to so many items when already priced too highly Sadly the hotel also had a seriousmproblem with drains - so offensive smell in places
Checking out staff attitude
Wonderful, helpful and experienced staff. Located a mile or so from downtown and an even safe walk (about 7-9 euro cab ride). Ab out 1/2 mile from American Embassy. Hotel in Ballsbridge and its village just beyond Embassy. Quaint old building.
Our room didn't have a dresser.
Location, Building Good Bar
Noisy and small room poor Breakfast in Lidl-Quality inacceptable smell in the staircase Untrained Breakfast staff
Old building full of character, location by attractive canal, good restaurant and bar in house.
The prospect of having to pay 20 euros an hour to keep the room beyond check-out time; so we didn't.
Charm and ambience
Our reservation was cancelled by them and no additional rooms available. When we asked for them to book us somewhere similar they put us in a horrible hotel in the middle of town. Very disappointing. The opposite of charm filled with tour buses and pensioners.
Good location walking distance to town.
Car Park a little cramped
Well-located. Just 15 mins walk to the TCD. Very friendly staff. We really enjoyed staying here.
The staff were extremely friendly from check-in to check-out in all departments. Free parking and central location was very useful. Evening meal was the best ever in Dublin. Breakfast in the morning was out of this world!
There was nothing to dislike about this hotel
Enjoyed my stay very well, staff very friendly and helpfull
no refrigerator only negative i could find
Great location to somewhat overlooked Village on Ipper Baggot St. Good choice of films and music in room, lovely big bed, free parking and quirky bar with nice seating area outside.
The hotel was clean with a cool old fashioned style. The rooms were comfortable and the food was great.
The rooms were a little on the small side and the AC was a little iffy.
The building was very unusual and had been well converted from a school. The location was pleasant being right next to the canal. The room was large and very comfortable. We ate in both the bar and the restaurant and the food and service were excellent.
The bathroom needed updating.
History. Of the hotel
Kind of dark in rooms
