Next to the river, this 4-star hotel overlooks the Bord Gais Energy Theatre.

Room & Breakfast Room were nice The exterior is the most attractive.
Entrance & Reception lacked character. Reception desk was hidden around a corner! Check-in & out was just ok. Don't think I would come back as I found the stay a bit dull, requires more personality & atmosphere.
Friendly staff Comfortable hotel Great location
Good shower experience, the bedroom was not to hot, good range of TVs channels ..... Great shower experence
Ironing board to small and the hair dryer was useless. Little things but very important

Slightly tired rooms
The room was fine. We were allowed to check in early 12.00 which was wonderful. The location of the hotel was great. A short walk into town and very near the Bord Gais Energy Theatre.
My breakfast was very poor. Undercooked porridge and badly cooked pancakes. Complete disappointment.
Quaint hotel within easy reach of Grafton St , theatres and shopping areas. The bar was very busy due to the fact that there were a number of people attending Christmas party nights. Live music in the bar was very pleasant and not too loud!
The turkey & ham on the set dinner menu was a big disappointment. The 'ham' was a cheap cut of fatty bacon and that wasn't reflected in the price. Some of the chairs in the bar need replacing as they are almost 'on the ground'
Pictures of rooms aren't as nice and service was awful for breakfast!
Room was little dated and service at breakfast
I love the location. Within walking distance of the city centre, balls bridge, baggot st etc. lovely old world bar and beer garden.
This is my 6th stay at schoolhouse and there was no acknowledgment of this loyalty.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel right from the moment we got there. Receptionist was really friendly and welcoming. The old part of the hotel is really lovely and quaint. will definitely be back.
The rooms are lovely ,and very cosy !! the bathrooms are done up in woos flooring . The restaurant and bar are beautifully refurbished . with old vaulted ceilings ,, and fireplaces. We noticed that the restaurant was chock a block on a Tuesday . so we decided tto eat there ..too , Excellent
I found it a bit strange that the rooms were going down .. otherwise thats all
The unique nature of the place - quirky layout, super dining areas, great bar snack lunch and a lively vibe. Not staid at all.Bed and bedding were really clean and comfortable.
Being picky here but the decor in the bedroom could do with a bit of updating.
Relaxed atmosphere, friendly & professional staff, excellent food & clean facilities.
I found the armchairs in my room uncomfortable as the seats & backs were very hard.
We liked the room decor and the fact that it was very quiet even though it was in a good location. The food was very good, breakfast was good value and the bar was nice with great live music. We went into the city centre and to the Aviva stadium both of which were walkable. Would stay here again.
Sheet had a stain at the edge and two of the wooden tiles in bathroom lifted. The bathroom could have done with a being spruced up although the old style was lovely. The entrance lobby could be more tidy/impressive
The staff were extremely helpful. Food in the bar was really good, and service was excellent. Location perfect for us. Good value for money. Louise on reception, and the young lady from Estonia in the bar deserve a special mention.
Nothing to dislike.
Charming atmosphere and kind staff. Our room was very good, for a very relaxing holiday!
Location, bar food and breakfast. Parking available. Helpful and courteous staff.
Felt more like a B&B than a hotel. Great ambiance! Staff exceptionally helpful around the clock!
Too far out of town
Located a short walk from Merrion Square and Grafton St. Cosy, comfortable rooms, tastefully furnished rooms with William Morris fabrics, friendly and helpful staff, quiet rooms, an historic building with leafy outlooks
Bed was too hard for my liking.
Bar staff were fabulous. Friendly and attentive. Lovely setting too.
The receptionist we dealt with wasn't very friendly or helpful. Not great for first impressions. I've stayed here twice now- don't think I'll stay again.
Helpfulness of staff. Urgency of staff. Fantastic rooms. Great ambience and feel of bar and restaurant. Oscar Wilde room was beautiful
Helpful staff, excellent accommodation, great service, good food, close proximity to the city centre
Beautiful building, lots of charm and character. Parking available
Loved the location and character from the outside. Nice on the inside.
Although the restaurant staff were lovely, they seemed inexperienced (to us it felt like a "phoned in", type of service - fine but...lacking something). On the morning of our departure however, we were served by a female member of staff. The difference was palpable. We felt that there was someone very competent in charge who cared about their job. It can be quite a subtle thing but can make a big difference to your experience.
Place had great character. Good location. Very comfortable. Parking.
Only encountered 2 members but staff could have been a touch more friendly. But I am being very picky now.
