Very friendly and welcoming staff, extra large room, relaxed atmosphere, beautiful grounds. Very minor problem with housekeeping. My room did not seem to have been hoovered before I arrived. I suspect that this was an oversight as the bed was freshly made and the bathroom cleaned, with fresh toiletries. I mentioned the problem at check out and the receptionist apologized and thanked me for bringing it to her notice. |

The staff at reception were very nice and very helpfull and friendly when we arrived. Not enough staff on duty for breakfast on Sunday hard to find a table that was cleared. |

Internally the hotel is relatively attractive; the bedroom was well equipped and comfortable and the breakfast was first class. I did not use any of the other facilities so couldn't comment on the restaurant or bar. This is certainly not a "premium class" hotel but for the price it you would be hard pressed to find sometihng of similar quality. Externally the hotel looks extremely uninviting and of poor quality. |

I enjoyed the country feel to the hotel with its nice lawns and open space free from buildings and noise of traffic. |

Nice big comfortable beds in the rooms. The bin in the bathroom was not emptied after previous guests so that was not very pleasant. I stayed in the hotel 4 years ago when it was just renovated and thought it was very nice however, 4 years on it is not well maintained and is starting to look shabby - cracked tiles in the bathroom, chipped woodwork, brown water from the taps etc... |

Hotel had very helpful, efficient & friendly staff and room was lovely Function rooms badly located. Functions going on when I checked in. Tried to check-in over lots of entertainment noise + children running around the place. Could also have done with a couple of biscuits (even plain ones) on the Tea/Coffee Tray |

Facilities good, eventhough there were functions on in the hotel there was no noise disturbance in the bedrooms. Broadband connection good and simple. Within easy walking distance of town centre, river, historic sites etc. yet in quiet residential area. |

Staff were excellent., friendly and "informal"..even under pressure on Saturday evening. Room was good size, modern, clean , airy and "very quiet" which was a lovely change from some recent experiences. |

The staff were all very friendly, pleasant and helpful. The food was gorgeous. The location in relation to athlone town was very convenient. The live music in the bar was very enjoyable. A computer in the lobby with internet access for guests would be great, unfortunately i had not brought my laptop with me and would hav liked internet access. |

It is a comfortable hotel and the staff were very nice. The room was good and very comfortable. Overall ambiance was up to expectations. In the reception area, and just outside - cleaning was poor. Some of the lamp shades -spiders webs. Outside there was broken glass that took an age to get cleaned up. (Wedding - to be anticipated). In reception, there are the most uncomfortable sofas that I ever encountered. Breakfast which was good with a reasonable selection, but spoiled on a cold plate. |
