Pull out sofa had broken slat which meant the poor girl sleeping on it had to be careful not to roll over to the wrong side of the bed...

I thought the appartments were very comfortable, spacious and warm. Wasn't up for breakfast so I can't comment on the dining room - but the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Close to the town. Staff were efficient. Good powerful shower. The hotel is tired looking and needs serious refurbishment. It is in an obscure location and the entrance to the grounds is not illuminated so it is easily missed. In the room, the double bed was actually two singles joined together but without any effective double mattress thus making a very uncomfortable join in the middle. There was no steam extraction in the bathroom. Some staff were friendly, others a little surly but maybe they were simply working under pressure. The food in the bar was poor, limited choice and apparently microwaved.

The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. The staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The room rate was also very competitive. Nothing major,i prefer a buffet set up for breakfast rather than choosing from a menu. The safe in the room is located on the floor in the wardrobe making it extremely difficult to use for anyone elderly or someone such as myself with back problems.

We booked a family room with a kingsize bed and two singles. The room was large and had been redone with a clean, more modern vibe. The bathroom was great. The rooms were more modern than the rest of the hotel, which could use a facelift in some of the common areas. The breakfast was great and overall it was superb value! It was a little more off the beaten track than I expected but still within easy walking distance to the town centre.

Excellent location, very close to the town centre while being quiet and relaxed. Its a short 10 minute walk to the world famous "Sean's Bar", which means one can partake of "a few scoops" (pints of guinness) without risking ones licence. Also very convenient for the river Shannon and Lough Ree. The medieval monastry, Clonmacnoise, is only a few miles downriver. For the golfer there is a superb links at Hodson's Bay less than 3 miles outside town. The huge car-park means guests can leave their car securely while shopping or eating in town without the hassle of driving. Your call . . . Not much to complain about. For the price it was amazing value and so convenient. The staff were superbly trained and nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious clean and modern with the usual tea/coffee making facilities, and for me the best bit . . . The shower water came out instantly hot and with great pressure, I cant stand a shower that dribbles warm water over you. Sorry, I cant think of anything I want to complain about.

I loved the very large spacious bedroom with 2 king size beds, staff were excellent and down to earth no pretensious airs and graces! Had lovely meal in bar which was great value, 2 courses for 15 euro, only negative that at breakfast staff were a bit thin on the ground

Staff were very busy but still excellent warm country welcome value for money Poor signage: at or just before it's gate when travelling in the dark wasn't visible. As the hotel houses were a tthe road,it didn't look like a hotel so I ended up driving past it, my travelling companions made the same mistake.

We had booked a 2 bedroom apartment, and it was perfect, very spacious with clean modern and comfortable beds, seating, fridge, microwave and tv's; had very good power showers also; was situated away from the main hotel but within the grounds which was a good thing on both counts. Taxis are easy to get in Athlone and are good value, most journeys appear to be 5 euro, one would need a taxi to get into and out of town. We arrived at just past 3.30pm; (I had booked this accommadation a feew weeks earlier) we were told the room was not quite ready, so we said ok and we would get a snack in the bar as one of my daughters had finished work earlier and had no lunch, 2 of us ordered the deep fried brie with salad and the other had warm chicken salad..it was ok...the deep fried brie was cold fried to a crisp with almost no brie remaining, we could not eat it and told the barman he took away the plates without comment, at this point we checked on the room progress, no luck, not ready so we waited..at 5pm the nice receptionist sent the barman to ask what we would like to drink while we waited, we accepted her offer of a drink..we did not get our room keys until just after 5.30pm, a crazy lenght of time to wait, the apartment was top class and we would recommend it to anyone staying there. The breakfast was not great seemed overcooked except the sausages which were a pale shade of what a sausage should look like. Stay in the apartment but avoid the food.

Convenience, food , If we were to give you any feedback, we felt since our previous visit we felt the internal fabric of the property was getting a bit tired, albeit the day we left it was noted that internal decorating was being carried out.
