Shannon Oaks Hotel & Country Club  

i had a lovely weekend and we were really impressed with the warm welcome and the total quality of the accomodation and we would certainly return at the drop of a hat.Our meal was exquisite and our treatments at the spa were first class i only wish we could have stayed longer.

I attended a wedding reception at the Shannon Oaks Hotel, the whole event could not have been better, in fact I recommended the Shannon Oaks in Portumna to a family member as she is getting married next year.

A perfect location for families. We ate in the bar-menu limited. Staff were friendly in the hotel.

Room was somewhat dark and dull. Although it was clean it looked a little dated. Only a small thing but the rubbish bin in the bedroom was shabby and torn which did not help the overall impression. On the food front-we stayed for bed and breakfast and opted to eat in the bar the night before. We found the bar menu limited and our food (we ordered steaks) was lukewarm on lukewarm plates when it did arrive. We could have sent it back but since there seemed to be only two staff on duty we felt we would have to wait too long for replacement. We ordered wine and the glasses were not the cleanest. The hotel could definitely do with improving on the food front.

Staff were very helpful and friendly, we stayed here for a family wedding and found everything to be lovely. The pool kept the kids entertained in the morning and the suite was lovely and roomy and decorated very well with everything you would ever need.

The chairs in the dining room all had collapsing legs, they were not very safe to use. We left the bedroom windows open and when we returned the room was full of bluebottle flies, nothing to do with the room, it is just the area where the room was situated right on the edge of the woods, attracted a few creepy crawlies. Also felt the 10 am check out was a bit mean as we would expect to be let have a 12pm check out like everyone else. And the gas and electric bill came to 7 euro for 2 nights, which I feel should be included in the room rate.

I enjoyed swimming in the pool. The changing rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. There were designated times for children to swim.

The pool didn't open until 9.0 am on Saturday..

Il posto è semplicemente favoloso. è dotato anche di un bel pub (si mangia anche ad un prezzo accettabile)

L'établissement est très bien.

Juste une remarque sur le personnel du restaurant qui est très sympathique mais pas très professionnel. Pour ce type d'endroit, il faudrait un personnel plus stylé.
