We arrived at night, and were glad to have a comfortable homey place to stay and relax after a day of driving and hiking. Once we awoke - we were leaving the next morning - I immediately realized that this would be a great place to stay for much longer. Sue was so hospitable, the Full Irish was delicious, and I was daydreaming about missing the chance to do some seafishing the rest of the morning. Truly worth it!
Sue was extra helpful. And she is a great cook! lots of delicious choices for breakfast. One of the best B&Bs I have ever stayed in
A ten minute drive into Clifden to get to the nearest restaurant
The welcome by Sue and terrific advise about surrounding attractions. Sue herself takes advantage of the wonderful walks. I was very grateful to have spent half a day walking in The Connemara National Park. The breakfast was the best in all my time in Ireland.
Sue and John were wondful hosts that made you feel very welcomed in their home. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with lovely views of the sea. There was a very cosy sitting room with a wood fire. And the breakfast was the best with the option of fresh fish on the menu. Would highly recommend this property in a great part of Ireland.
Sue was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing and I would highly recommend her pancakes. We felt completely at home and the b&b was so cosy.
Absolutely nothing. This place is fab
Sue, the owner, was exceptionally helpful and a terrific cook. Breakfasts included a variety of options, all good. The B&B is located outside Clifden but only about a five-minute drive away and easily found.
My wife, Barbara, and I immensely enjoyed our time spent at the Sharamore House. The accommodations and location ideally met our needs for a quiet location close to the town of Clifden. Sue was helpful, available and very accommodating in making our stay the most enjoyable of our 2 weeks in Ireland. I plan to recommend my Sister and her husband to visit Clifden and the Sharamore House when they visit Ireland next year.
Sue made us feel welcome and was very helpful. Her breakfasts were superb especially the packs!
Nothing to dislike.
Owner was actively friendly with help suggestions, the best breakfast in all of Ireland.
Sue was a friendly and interesting host. She cooked a fabulous breakfast. Our room was quiet, roomy, and comfortable, with a nice sized bath.
With a little effort, the place inside and out could be really pretty. There was a lot of junk outside around the property, and the inside could use a little sprucing up and organization.
The friendly attention and welcome made our 2 night stay very memorable. The views from our bedroom were spectacular and the peaceful location was just what we had wanted.
We are an older couple with knee issues and wanted a B&B with a ground floor room - this B&B fit the bill and was comfortable and inviting. The hospitality was above and beyond, with our hostess, Sue, helping with dinner and music recommendations, directions, providing ice for an evening cocktail, and even holding onto an AC adapter we left behind until we could return later to retrieve it. The home is beautifully decorated and you are made to feel at home. Great location just by the start of Sky Road near Clifden, and easy drive in for dinner, music and local color. The big surprise was breakfast - Sue is a great cook and I feasted on a sort of local smoked salmon eggs benedict on a bed of spinach. Yum, yum! I'll remember this B&B for a long time and will certainly stay there again if we can get back to the area!
View and breakfast.
Sue is a gem. Very good breakfasts with clean rooms and a car park.
The location was quaint, quiet and as described. It was at the entrance to Sky Drive and convenient to town. We had the best breakfast on our 2 week trip, prepared by Sue and served by Amy. Try the banana pancakes (crepes) with fushia flowers garnish. Sauce for poached eggs was outstanding. Quite a treat!
Nothing. A little hard to find, so watch for signs.
The best B & B breakfast we experienced in Ireland. Sue was very helpful.
Further from Clifden than we expected. We were not comfortable driving after dark after dinner.
The breakfast menu is exceptional. A large choice. Everything fresh. A lot more than the usual full Irish or eggs done in a certain way. The various fruits in bowls were delightful, and the different fish dishes magnificent. I had the Sharamore special first morning! Definitely the best Breakfast in a B&B or Guest House I have ever had. Sue and staff lovely.
Nothing really. We had a back room with a view little of a view, as we booked late and the rooms with a view of the sea were gone. Sue did ask us if we wanted to move for the second night as a vacancy arose for a room at the front of the house. We declined as did not want to pack again and move just for the night. Ask for a room with a view if available.
Our room had a sea view(as per my request at time of booking) - happy this request was met. The rooms were vry clean - thats what I liked most about the place followed by the excellent breakfast and warm, cosy, friendly atmosphere. The location is ideal - near Sky Road and minutes away from Clifden town and thus with easy access to restaurants and nightlife. Also in close location to road that leads to Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey and the bog. Would definitely stay there again.
A slight must/salty smell greets you as you enter the house - probably from the angling equipment or nearby sea ... not 100% sure where it emanates from. However its tolerable and not overpowering. It would be better if it wasnt there.
Very good breakfasts. Sue was a great host made us very welcome
Breakfast is great and the people are very nice
too far from the town ...
I can only thank Sue for her kindness and wish her and her family all the best. This is a wonderful place to stay.
Sue the host is very welcoming and interested in all her guests. I made a request foe a downstairs room and it was honoured. The breakfast was the best we had in our trip around Ireland. I never thought I would eat fish for breakfast but the fresh fish I had was equal to what I ate the previous night in an up market restaurant. Sue made our stay memorable in this most beautiful part of the world. Would recommend in a heartbeat. Stay here and you won't be disappointed.
The breakfast menus with freshly caught fish. The very homely atmosphere, it didn't feel like we were strangers
Nothing at all!!!!!
Great location, comfortable, clean, modern but charming homey ambiance, wonderful hosts, ample, delicious breakfast. Could easily have stayed longer.
