Free WIFI in rooms would be good
Good friendly pub with accommodation, Only a short walk from attractions like Guinness and Jameson s distillery. 5 mins from Temple bar.
Price and the fantastic music in the bar. Both nights I was there, they had great traditional irish musicians. Great place to pass an hour and have a pint.
I liked it all.
Wonderful and attentive staff, very helpful with anything you need. Great location.
In a busy area, somewhat noisy at night.
The road noise was horendious
The hotel had a restaurant and pub downstairs, with live Irish music and walking distance to just about anywhere you want to visit in the city. Transportation includes light rail trains, buses, taxis and more. My wife loved the bathroom and shower.
The weather was not good the day we were in town, so we decided to move on the next day, instead of sleeping over.
as this was more about the location than anything else, somewhere to sleep, as we were attending the High Court ( not for criminal purposes I might add ) across the road, it was an ideal venue as costs were a factor too,it was ideal for a visit to Templebar as well. Happy enough.
The only thing that was noticeable when entering for the first time was the stair carpet, it was a bit worn and gave the place a bit of a dowdy appearance, apart from that, I was happy enough, it isn't 5 star and I didn't expect it to be.
location, service, food
no phone in rooms
Staff very friendly and helpful. Proximity to city centre and not too far by taxi to the port (€20). Bathroom spotless.
Room a bit dingy, but then we chose by price and Dublin is expensive for accommodation. Beds reasonable.
The room was very cold!
breakfast was great as ahotelier from blackpool couldnt fault this hotel deff be staying again
+ friendly staff + quiet room + pub is nice, though not much going on during the week
- people were using the area outside my window to smoke - location could be a little more central, though its still walking distance to Temple Bar district
Great location. Staff were approachable and helpful. There was a lot of flexibility regarding late times for breakfast and therefore, it was good to have an extra hour of sleep. Staff had no problem in going the extra mile, by ensuring that my requests were catered for. I would definitely stay there again.
Easy to find, & pleasant to walk to centre of Dublin along the riverside. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Because it's a pub, late check-in is no problem and you can leave left luggage behind. Although some reviews suggest the live music means it's very noisy, I think that all depends on what room you are in - on the top floor, there was no noise at all. Comfy room.
Bathroom wasn't very clean. Decor quite tired and in need of a refurbishment. You have to hand your key in when you are out-and-about (it's too large to carry with you - on a big stick) which means you have to find a staff member every time you return. This can be a bit annoying if you're only popping out for a few minutes.
the staff, the abundance of pillows, the abundance of fresh towels, the convenience of living in a restaurant and bar had great benefits. Also, the lovely owner's wife introduced herself to me and made me feel welcome...that was very nice. Generally I loved staying at O'Shea's and would/will come back someday.
TV in 104 is old and I could not use it. An elevator would have been a nice thing with the bags. Some other guests who snore kept me awake for a while...maybe having a designated wing for snorers would be a good idea. Having Wi-Fi in all the rooms would be a great thing.
staff were friendly but did not order taxis when requested and did not provide good directions or information about bus service
had to purchase ear plugs to sleep, television was snowy, no remote control and just 3 channels. NO shampoo etc in bathroom, ceiling and walls were cracking and paint was chipping, carpet was torn in room and hallway and key jammed frequently when locking and unlocking room
location.friendly staff .food was very good. room was clean and spacious.
food. and staff very friendly and helpful. would stay again
The staff here was fantastic. Friendly, polite, and a joy to chat with. Having the pub downstairs to relax in was definitely a plus. I wouldn't say it was the nicest of neighborhoods, but if you don't mind walking a few miles it's central to nearly everything.
This place is undoubtedly not geared towards a business traveler. If you're a light sleeper, that means you're gonna have a mighty tough time sleeping through the live music downstairs (which, by the way, was amazing). The bed was not the most comfortable, but I broke my back a few years back so am particularly sensitive. The bathroom was cramped and the first morning the water in the shower came out a bit orange for a moment, but then all was good. Probably the worst part for me was not having wifi in the room. In the evenings when I had to catch up on email (American company) I had to go down and find a table.
Location, room size.
Impossible to sleep until 3am due to loud music from pub. Breakfast not included.
Warm welcome , great food , fantastic entertainment . Would definatly return again . :)
The bar down stairs
Loud at night, no shampoo in the bathroom abd everythig was a little old and crunchy..
The room was so large, room to move around. Bathroom had not only a shower but a tub too. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Food was very good and served hot. They could pour a great pint of Guinness.
Street noise did not slow down till after 11pm, but it did. Bus stop was 2 blocks away, but it was there.
I chose this hotel because of its honest review about the room (over the kitchen & the bar). No noise, slept soundly in the comfortable bed. A warm genuine welcome, with smiles and chat, at this hotel. Make sure you eat there, dinner was lovely and breakfast was superb; with the freshest of ingredients. Perfectly located for us to see all of Dublin. (We walk everywhere).
We could have been put off by the dated decor, but everything I needed was clean and fresh and nothing was a bother to anybody.
