The staff were super friendly
There was a very musty damp snell in the room and also in the ensuite. No vent, ventilation or window in the ensuite. All the ceilings in the bedroom and ensuite badly need painting and the grout joints in the ensuite are black with lack of ventilation And badly need to be cleaned. The tops of the lockers covered in dust.
The double bed was comfortable but i wouldn't like to have to sleep in the single bed as the springs are coming up through the mattress.
Hotel is a bit tired and the bathroom waste water is on pump system which can be noisy if you use bathroom at night may annoy some people.
Staff excellent.welcoming and helpful.
Hot and cold directions on shower were reversed
Location very good Staff very good
Bathroom size, too small.
Location & staff.
Holes in the walls, exposed wiring leading from an outlet to a plug for a lamp, beds were hard as rocks and pillows flat. Carpet is very old and gave the room a kind of icky feeling. Had an actual key for the room that didn't feel very secure but at least we didnt have to turn it in every time we left like we had read about doing. Room was very hot and there was no way of chaning the heat setting on the radiators, only one very small window that was covered by a non-moveable curtain. Overall a terrible decision to stay here and I would never reccommend to anybody, even on a budget.
Location was ok, about a 20 minute walk from the city center. Close-ish to Guinness and cathedrals. Nice to be right across from The Brazen Head. Quiet because there was nobody in the pub while we stayed there (Monday-Wednesday nights). Bathroom was adequate.
my room was on the back side so no traffic noise but no view of the river either. There was a strange pump in the bathroom to pump the water out. that was noisy. my room was at the end of the corridor so i don't know if you would be able to hear the pumping noise from the neighbor room. the pump went on only when you used Water. Carpet was totally worn down with a hole in it. wifi is lousy in room but excellent in bar/lobby/restaurant.
very close walk from christ church bus stop (bus747 from airport). hotel is right in front of the river. a bit of a walk from Temple bar but not a problem. I was worried about noise as many mentioned in the comments. I was there saturday night and sunday night. Saturday the noise started very late but didn't last long. the music was actually nice. ear plugs worked. Sunday night there was no noise at all. i ordered breakfast at the hotel. for one € less than a Continental breakfast you can have eggs. coffee was good.
iwill not stay here again . dirty smel in room .looked out window to see a pidgeon loft and pidgeons leaving droppings every where. disgusting.
WiFi only worked near the main staircase, so you had to stand in the hall to use it.
Walking distance to many attractions (20 Minutes). Fun Pub with great food.
no wifi in the room its a vital part of life as we need work on the net and could do so as normally the wifi is available in all the hotels i have stayed in this was first with no wifi in the room
country look was good
smell in the room was terrible.
The beds really need to be changed. But for the price and location, it wasn't the worst bed I've slept in.
We arrived in Dublin early, before the 1 pm check-in, but were really tired. We figured we might as well ask if we could keep our luggage at the hotel while we tried to find a comfy spot to "rest". When we got there, the lady at reception allowed us to check in at 9:30 am!
Super Breakfast. Great staff. Brilliant location.
Friendly atmosphere home from home
poor wifi connection
Staff were very frindly and helpful. The luas is only a stones throw too.
Constant traffic and bright curtains leaving in too much light
Value for money
The convenience of having an establishment so close to the library and archives ns well as the usual tourism venues coupled with excellent value for money meals.
The location was ideal. A nice walk to temple bar, o Connell street, guiness factory. Not far at all. But at night when we couldn't he bothered to walk we just got a taxi for 5 euro. Although we really didn't need to, it was just an option. The staff are really friendly and helpful. We were always asking them for places to go. We recommend the breakfast, we searched for other places with a good breakfast in the morning but in the end just stuck to here as we couldn't find many. Also other tourists are sent here for breakfast so make the most of what's on your doorstep. The room was basic but comfortable and clean. Ideal for what we wanted.
The girl that was doing the breakfast had no manner service for dinner was very slow I waited half an hour for a roast beef dinner and another 20 mins for a chocolate brownie desert
Location and the girl that checked me in was very professional
Nothing really on a busy road so a bit of road noise but to be expected
warm and friendly welcome help staff great position just what I wanted from my stay in Dublin
Rooms were basic, washing facilities require improvement
Food and drink
It cost us €169 to stay on St Patricks Day. There was no residence bar and staff looked at us like we had two heads when we asked for a drink because we were staying, Cooked breakfast was not included in the price. Also, they advertise as O Sheas Merchant Temple Bar, but in fact it's a 15 minute walk (at least) to Templebar, plus in Templebar, the bars stay open until 3. O Sheas closed at 12.30. When we said that wasn't the time bars closed in templebar, we were told we should go to Templebar than. Overall, felt like I got overcharged just because it was St Patricks Day so poor value for money, and the staff under treated us for the same reason.
The live music they put on was great, and the breakfast though not included in the price, was good.
Rooms need to be updated, not a flat screen TV as in promo. Carpet well worn, noise from bar can be heard in room at 0200.
Decor very old. We were a younger group of people and the older clientel at night made us feel uncomfortable so we ended up going out to different bars. They didn't play much irish music in the bar area at night either.
Good location, can walk into the town centre or just a short distance from bus stops. Nice friendly staff. Working wi-fi.
