Skeffington Arms Hotel  

The staff at the front desk and in the breakfast were excellent. Much nicer hotel than I thought. And the AC worked well - something of a rarity. Will definitely stay again.

Very loud due to its pub downstairs. In the corridors the doors would slam every time one had to go in or out of their room and it could be heard quite loud in the morning or in the night, from my room. Breakfast starts at EIGHT! What about people having to go to work or catch an early bus?

Good location.

Rooms were dirty, very run down. Very overpriced for the quality of service, food and facilities. The noise of the nightclub from downstairs is too loud. Parking was inconvenient and the hotel informed us of parking prices which were misquoted too low, we had to pay double what was quoted. Dirty glasses at breakfast. Overall it's just a good pub with a hotel upstairs. You can get much better value in Galway.

i liked that you could have breakfast in the bar untill noon.

This hotel was perfect. Great location across from the park and right next to heart of walking area of the City. Car park nearby, excellent breakfast and beautiful and friendly pub.

Staff is very poor, wouldn't stay there again!! Was not allowed to bring my girlfriend into the hotel, not even for a drink. Went to the door and was treated absolutely inappropriately and unwelcoming! No consideration or even willingness to discuss

Close to city centre

Not enough toiletries or towels although when asked for more got them very speedily. Hair dryer broke but again got a replacement immediately, Breakfast the next morning was absolutely disgusting, rubber egg, potatos that I just cannot describe the taste of, inedible

Central location, no need for taxi's. Nice and clean. Nice bar with lovely food also.

Rooms and corridors quite small, a bit claustrophobic.

It was very modern, very clean. The staff were excellent.

The room was quite cold on our arrival and it took a long time for the air conditioner to heat the room.

It is obviously a very popular place for revellers (but my room was quiet) The dining rooms and the breakfast rooms feature intricate old woodwork on the ceilings and walls. The place seems to be steeped in history. I had an enjoyable stay.

Many older hotels suffer from the same problem, small rooms. No amount of simple refurbishment can solve this problem. I booked a double room for sole use. Don't book a single sized room.

Great location, just beside bus station, train station, walking streets. Nice clean room with a 32" lcd tv + sky sport 1,2,3 dvd player. Very warm room all night Staffs are very friendly, breakfast is very good ( full Irish ) I just fell in love with this hotel. I can recommend to everyone

Great position, good quality accommodation attached to character pub right in Eyre Square in the heart of the attractive and vibrant city of Galway. Fabulous breakfast - individually cooked (instead of withering in a buffet) and served in a lovely room over the old pub. Pleasant friendly staff.

Seems churlish to make any caveats since this was our favourite accommodation in our entire trip around Ireland. However kettle was missing from room (although I'm sure that it would have been supplied if we needed it). Would have a liked the option of a room with a bath - although the hotel was probably full.

the room was dusty and the net curtains between the two windows was all stained and dirty...other than that it was a pleasant and comfy room.

Very cosy hotel, at a great location in the city centre of Galway. Clean room, comfortable (long) beds. Great shower. Friendly staff ready to provide any assistance when needed. Would recommend it to anybody who wants to enjoy Galway city.

Found the price a little on the expensive site, might be because of Paddies. The sound of the nightclub could be heard in the room, but faintly and fair enough this was pointed out when we booked (so no real problem to us)

I have used this hotel on many occasions, and have never been dissapointed. The staff are friendly and helpfull, and the location is ideal for resturaunts,shopping and entertainment.I would have no hesitation in recomending it. Phil C

Maybe more imagination with breakfast for people who don't like fry ups.

charming old world feel. Breakfasts was excellent. and the closeness of the city centre for shopping and nightlife couldn't be better.

The car parking was quite far away. also unable to park outside and unload cases, this was due to the bollards at the end of the street preventing access

staff very efficient, and friendly, had dinner in the bar, the food was very nice, and the bar staff very friendly also. had great trip...

i had to come home......

The Location is excelent, The girl on reception was very good at her job and was more than willing to chat and help out with directions places to go etc
