The hostel was good value for money. It was good for location and there were restaurants and shops in close vicinity to buy stuff for the kitchen. This was my first experience of staying in a hostel. And I was impressed by the self catering kitchen available to the guests throughout the day. The mattress was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful.
It was quite noisy because I was in the room just next to the stairs. One reason for the noise could be that the stairs were not covered with a carpet. I was a solo traveler and did not like the bunker bed in my room. The false fire alarm went off during night and was extremely annoying. The shower needed to be checked as it was almost jammed and was hard to move it to get water.
The secluded location set the scene for this wonderful hostel. Once inside, I was greeted by a friendly staff who immeadiatel offered us information, food, and delicious tea (I had a cup... or two!). The living room was incredible and the fireplace really set the scene. In addition I watched a movie on the flatscreen after viewing the vast library. The stay ended on a good note with a breakfast of coffee, cereal , and home made jam on toast.
Despite the great stay there were two things that came to mind. For one, the beds were confortable but the pillows were not to my liking. Also, my friend claimed that even though the radiator was on, the room remained cold. These problems are minor and the benefit surely outwieghed these minor costs.
The staff, proximity to town .
The snoring woman in the room.
The staff was helpful and the location is near Lisdoonvarna and not far away from Doolin pier if you would like to take a ferry to Aran islands.
The breakfast time is too late if you would like to take the early morning bus to Doolin pier.
Excellent location - exactly what you pay for!
Old cold and tatty
Location in town, friendly staff
Bathroom ceiling black and leaking, hostel was full when we were there so kitchen was too busy, too many people
The beds were pretty comfy, and the staff were all so friendly!! Always willing to help out, offer places to go, things to do.
The bathtub was broken, a big hole in the side, and the floor was dirty.
We arrived last Friday at the hostel to be greeted by lovely staff and the facilities the hostel had to offer.. They were great.. We went to see fr. Teds house in the burren and when we asked a member if staff where it was they pointed us in the right direction.. They were very helpful and contential breakfast was great to start ur day.. We are thinking of booking again for next year...
Staff member was very helpful
No hot water, bad smell in room, place is old and not very clean.
We spent two nights .It was all we expected nice staff nice rooms near town with out breaking the bank .Will call again
Friendliness of all the staff, couldn't do enough for ALL the guests. Being in a 6 person dorm with people of my own age group ie 50 and 60 years of age.
Being woken up with the night security man at 10 past 4 in the morning as he thought that one of the guests should not be in the room! How ever everything was sorted out.
the staff .. the location.. beds very comfortable....and the cosy wee bar
could do with a lick of paint ...some new carpet and a dish washer,, badly needed,,
the breakfast was not bad.
over crowding 30 people slept on mattresses in the conference hall plus 5 in the tv room the main exit was blocked with cars so no emergency service could give help if needed. I spoke to a staff member about this and was told there was nothing she could do I told her to ring the police and get them told she said she had too much to do and did not have the time. My friend was killed in the Star Dust disaster. stayed awake all night
The staff were brilliant, really helpful and friendly. The location was very central to all amenities and it's a great location for touring the Burren, the Cliffs of Moher etc.
The staff where very friendly and could answer any questions. Only a short walk from Lisdonvarna. There where five people in our group and we all enjoyed our stay. We are looking forward to our next visit
The lock was broken on the bathroom door and one light didn't work in the room but they where minor issues and the only problem
Clean comfortable spacious rooms with a terrific staff. Great location for walking into Lisdoonvarna town.
Parking was tight but the staff went out of their way to make sure things worked out.
helpful staff value for money clean closeness to town
a little bit noisy at night guests banging doors
There's plenty of room at this place to use the kitchen facilities to either have the cereal toast and coffee breakfast or bring your own food, leave in the walk in fridge and cook yourself. It's quiet and kids are safe. Our room was a family room. Very big. Enough fo parents+four kids. Relaxed and comfortable.
Hostel style. The place is old and really could be cleaned up. Don't expect a big supermarket or auto bank machine in town. Just a quick visit SPAR. WIFI only in common areas. Not in rooms.
Lovely place. Really friendly helpful staff. Room very clean. Defiantly recommend
No WiFi in bedroom
The staff were so friendly and the facilities and location were excellent. I will definitely be staying here again and will recommend it to my friends.
The staff were lovely.
The confirmation email said it would cost €64 for the 4 nights but was charged €72.
Good value for money
Amazing staff & great location
Bathroom was in need of a makeover.
