The location was very central and the hotel was easy to find. The room was very spacious. The breakfast was good. I was staying in a room next to the elevator and as there was a wedding on in the hotel that night the elevator was used for the whole night. I didn't get any sleep. The next morning the cleaning trolley was left outside my door and the noise of this being used also caused a disturbance as I was trying to relax after a sleepless night. There was no shower gel or shampoo in the bathroom which I would expect as standard. |

A total disappointment Lift not working, Bar closed at 11 o'clock and price of drink increased at that time. Bathroom fan was like a tractor, no shampoo, shower cap or body lotion which one would expect in any hotel. Room was cold and the duvet was so thin would have suited a middle eastern country, remember this Ireland in October and there was no heat in the room. I asked for a blanket and am still waiting for it. We will not recommend this hotel to any one |

The Southern Hotel Group when it was built was one of the best groups for travellers. However now that it is a McEniff Hotel its standards are much lower. The rooms were ok, but the mattresses and pillows were the cheapest foam products. The worst was the restaurant - dinner at a set price of €38 per person. No a la carte menu. The menu (full of misspellings) was like a menu from the 1970's ie turkey & ham covered in gravy, vegetable soup, semolina pudding (school food). Seven of us sat down at a table, (despite having advised the dining room in advance that we wished to have a table for 7) it had not even a tablecloth. The table was dressed with us all sitting there. Service appalling |

Staff extremely helpful in all areas of the hotel, Reception especially. Lovely lobby to sit and chat outside the bar and lots of easy car parking outside. |

I did like the morning brakfast, but could not understand why no one was able to sit at the window tables, for those of us reading, working ect the light would be better, and it is silly to dress the tables and then gard them from the people, what are they show and tell, as far as the people looking in, when no one is at the table it looks empty, not just pretty, people at the tables look busy, silly policy, We (the hote did l andI) did not know the phone was not working in my room , when it could not be fixed they ds, id move me, but this did go on my first few day |

Leaving it. This hotel is very tired and needs a major overhaul. 1st room offered was dingy with hardly any light and dark wallpaper - very depressing. Second room was lighter but bathroom fittings were loos. Bed had nylon sheets. Breakfast was adequate. We left after one night. |

I have to say the staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and the bar food was brilliant value and tasty. The breakfast was also excellent. The beds also were very comfortable. The leisure centre needs updating, juccuzzi was frozen, the changing rooms were extremely basic. Also the tiles in the en-suite need regrouting and some need to be changed as they are cracked. |
