Clifden Station House Hotel  

Nice room and good front desk staff. Thankfully, the Front Desk staff seem to place the early departure tour groups on the Lower 2 floors, but even so they are noisy.

Breakfast was ordinary at best and breakfast room staff were disinterested, although perhaps overwhelmed by the numbers of tour groups who use this hotel. "Heavy" classical music for breakfast is not our preference!

Beautiful location. Very friendly staff. Local people are lovely. Fab views.

The weather. Holidays in that area are very weather dependant. It rained all weekend, and as a result, we were very limited in what we could do, which was a pity, as if the weather is fine, you are spoiled for choice.

Central location

Most pubs in clifden stop serving food at 9pm, Indian restaurant was only place open and the food was excellent there

I really liked the size of the room and the extras that were provided such as bath robes and a fruit basket.

Lovely situation in renovated courtyard. We had inter- connecting rooms for the children. Great breakfast with freshly made pancakes as well add all the usual Irish cooked breakfast items. The pool was great. Excellent base for touring Connemara.

A bit pricey given that we had to take two rooms. Breakfast could have been served for longer, it finished at half ten, especially since it was the weekend. Not much time for a lie-in, and a swim before breakfast.

The room next to our room had another young family. We were woken up at 7am by the noise emanating from this room. The sound proofing could be a lot better but this seems to be a common problem with newly built hotels.

Everything was perfect! Staff were excellent; superb location. Best I've stayed at in years !

Entertainment was poor for new year weekend.

We loved that it was just outside of town.The seperate bar was nice you were out of the hotel and yet so close to it.The food in both the hotel and bar was excellent.The staff without question were the greatest.

I didn't like the shower.I like an adjustable shower so your hair does'nt get wet.It was a fixed one way up the wall.

Swimming pool, steam room, spa, the bar let us have a sing song, staff were friendly, near shops, pubs, sea, mountins and eateries.

Has a good reputation and was clean.

Very spacious room, very helpful staff, esp the staff member from Bali. I am sorry cannot remember his name. All the staff were very welcoming.

The Steam room on the Saturday evening 8th Sept did not appear to be working. Not a big deal though

our initial reception

We stayed at the Clifton house hotel as we were taking part in the Connemara 100 mile road race. They were amazingly generous in putting on a complimentary breakfast for all runners and their crew from 5am on the morning of the race. Then after the race they opened their leisure centre for swim and shower facilities for runners and crew (you did not have to even be staying at the hotel). One runner that hobbled into the lobby at the end of the race was even given the complimentary use of a room so he could rest. I don't think you could really ask for better service than that!

Great location for visiting west Galway and Clifden has good nightlife. Comfortable quiet room and good breakfast.

Pool chaotic!

This hotel is just lovely and as for the staff all of them were so helpfull and friendly they really are a credit to the hotel and an asset. Kepp up the great work and we'll be back.....

This was our first time to stay at the hotel and we found it to be very central to the town of Clifden and to the rest of connemara. The staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay.Will stay there again
