Comfy rooms, friendly staff and good breakfast
My colleagues room was looking to the main road (= to the Green) and he was waked up by the traffic noise at 5:30am every day. I suggest to ask for a room which isn't looking for the road.
Very cramped bathroom facility in room 101, which otherwise was a most spacious 'family' room.
Reception staff on arrival very pleasant and very helpful, and was able to book in straight away. Would book again .
Location on St Stephen's Green is excellent. Very good value for such a central location.
Renovations ongoing at the property. Among our group, 2 rooms were very satisfactory but one room next to dining room in basement very unsatisfactory (Room 5 - beware!)..not renovated. Ask to stay in renovated room if booking.
Good location, a peaceful and charming place.
The wifi didn't work properly. The smell of fresh paint was quite strong (they were renovating the place).
Location, room was old style but clean and comfortable.
Need more staff at breakfast, Reception could do with a face lift
Proximity of the hotel to central Dublin and a good cooked breakfast.
The builders started work at 6 a.m. and were very noisy, e.g. Jack hammering, drilling, banging, sawing and chasing walls. They then proceeded to have the nerve to come in and eat breakfast with the guests!!!
The location is central, and St.Stephen's Park is opposite the front door. Friendly staff. Lots of hot water for bath / showers Breakfast good, with tasty gluten free toast on request
Having viewed beautiful rooms on the website, the room we were given was shabby and unfit for use. Faded ,dirty curtains and worn-out bedheads, added to the dingy carpets, and scratched furniture. The window over-looked a pile of timber, and various workmen , smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee. The beautiful marble fireplace., was covered in ingrained dirt , and requires skilled restoration
Infront a parc, near Temple bar and bus acces
I use Stauntons regularly, it's simple but comfortable and the staff are great and really helpful
They were decorating this week which I accept needs to be done but I wish they'd use odourless paint which is available on the market, the smell was over powering, thankfully it barely got into the room but in the stair and hall areas it really was a bit much!
hotel being renovated - had to request change of room because the one we were given had been painted recently and smelt of paint - fortunately they had one that hadn't been, and it was fine - but we shouldn't have been expected to stay in the first one in the first place.
Room was booked online weeks in advance. On arrival we were told no room was available but we could get a complimentary room in Parnell Square. This did not suit us at all. When we persisted we got a small double room, sparsely decorated, which we took as we had no option. We received no advance warning so we could make no other arrangements. While we understand here may have been renovations going on, the carpets in the corridor were littered and just needed to be hoovered. This is not good enough and I won't stay here again. The very least I would have expected was a phone call or text on the day to say the hotel was overbooked.
Some staff on the front desk(particular Tom &Michelle) good breakfast, good location, nice view of the green, nice bathroom in room 204 ......
No lift ( i know they are getting one put in soon) in the interim i thought they would at least consider a move to another room perhaps on the groundfloor where the rooms were and looked better positioned and newly refurbished. Our beds were not comfortable in room 204.
Spacious room with view overlooking Stephen's Green, comfortable bed, good breakfast and friendly staff.
Quaint period house in excellent location.
Lugging three suitcases along corridors and up staircases to get to room.
Excellent Location warm comfortable bed
We specifically booked a triple room as shown on website under my booking details, as we were mature ladies. Was most upset when we arrived to find if was a double and a single. They said that was a triple room! Also returned breakfast as it was cold
Great value great location
A good central location. A good breakfast.
The bedroom was uncomfortable. It was way too hot, and stuffy. We found it very hard to sleep and the room was also far too small for 2 people. We would have liked to buy a glass of wine from the guest house as we had travelled a long distance.
location georgian building friendly staff
central heating, far too hot and couldn't turn it down
The eggs and sausages
The area: Central and next to the lovely Stephens Green The bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in
Bathroom was a bit dingy - needs refurb. Breakfast wasn't the best - but the Brazilian waiter was lovely, so friendly and smiling
Very convenient location and assisted parking is very helpful. Room very comfortable.
No toilet paper in our bathroom Cooked breakfast was only alright
Very disappointed with tiny room !! Unlike previous visits.!
