In the heart of the Georgian city of Dublin, this 3-star guesthouse features traditional dècor and furnishings. It was built in the 18th century, and was once part of the Earl of Clonmel’s estate.

Small room. Renovations going on and smell of paint nearly knocked me down. TV didn't work.
Location Parking Pleasant Staff
Dated, needs upgrading Delay in returning my car
Very convenient location. Great to have the car park facility.
Good location, suited the purpose of our trip. Requested a room at the back away from the road which was allocated to us.
Room was below the stairs and landing for the 2nd floor which was quite noisy with guests returning in the early hours.
Great historical building with character - wonderful Irish breakfast
No Wi-Fi connection in the room, and breakfast did not start until 8:00am
Very thin walls in rear extension
Location is great. Breakfast is superb. Very quiet at night. Overall excellent hotel.
Noisy construction in building during the day. I was not aware of this before booking. I needed peace and quiet to prepare for an important meeting - didn't get it.
The location is excellent along St Stephens green, especially beautiful in the fall; close proximity to the city center, yet quiet; inside, one feels at home with cosy atmosphere of studios. The personnel was friendly. I liked the bow windows in my bedroom too!
I would have liked to have access to the backyard and garden
The first receptionist was excellent. Night porter very helpful and obliging.
Girl who took over reception in afternoon most unhelpful and glum.
Breakfast only from 8 am. It's to late.
Room and I overall lack of cleanliness
parking... security... 3 mites from grafton street...
Location was very central with parking at an extra cost
we had a triple room in the basement with no wifi
I didn't like the fact that you served instant coffee for breakfast. That was my only complaint. Everything else was great.
Location excellent and staff helpful
Disappointed with lack of wifi during last couple of days. The cook needs to learn about scrambling eggs and frying bacon without drying them out.
Location, staff, guesthouse itself.
I wanted a safe in my room.
Dublin's Staunton Hotel being just across from the lovely Park of St. Stephens Green makes it most convenient for nice stroll across to shops, museums and restaurants. And in another direction being from 5/10 mins walk from National Concert Hall (depending on your fitness) was another plus for us!
'NO LIFT' installed at Stautons!?Definately a minus for OAP's like us, our room was on the 3rd floor with 6 stair-flights! More stairs down to breakfast! No Luch or dinner availability. Surely a (NO-LIFT) warning sign listed on web-site would help?!
Location at St Stephens Green is great. Breakfast good and staff helpful.
Smallest room which was very tired and needs renovation. Was in a room at the front which was really noisy. No lift if you get a room on the upper floors.
staff helpful comfy room at back
noisy doors and thin walls- needs soundproofing - shower cramped + needed regrouting entrance to Iveagh gardens at back under lock and key wasting a wonderful facility
The rooms are docorated and comfortable. Breakfast was great. The location is perfect, considering plenty of authentic pubs all around St. Stephen's Green and clubs only a block away. Staff was friendly. Price is afforable for Dublin.
Staff recommended we pay for the room in American dollars - don't! There is an extra charge when not paying in Euros!
Location Bathroon was up to date
Price for delapidated suppoundings Electrical socket hanging off the wall Window frames in poor condition Didn't really have the feel of a clean establishment, though not awful, especially for the price
The location was ideal; in the centre of Dublin but overlooking a beautiful, green square from the quieter side. The rooms were comfortable and clean with strong, hot showers. Breakfast included a wide range of options including a full Irish with black and white pudding. Finally, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant even at 2.00 in the morning!
The wifi could have been stronger.
We stayed in Staunton's because of it's proximity to The National concert hall.Breakfast was good and service very efficient.
The room was very poor could do with a makeover. Even though we were in the newer part of the guesthouse it felt like it hadn't seen a lick of paint in about 20 years. There was no comfortable lounge to sit in. décor in general was very dull and in need of updating there was also no bar facilities.
Location is handy for O'Connell Street and south of the Liffey. Old but nice character.
Could do with a little TLC or upgrading in the rooms - for instance no sockets in the bedroom along the wall the beds are up against. The en-suite looked a little shabby.
