I think that the location is a massive asset to the hotel, also the staff and food were lovely. On arrival, we went straight to the spa, only to find out the they were fully booked for the whole of our stay so we couldn't have any treatments done (the main reason we chose summerhill). We were told we could use the steam room, sauna and hot tub facilities which we took advantage of. However upon looking at the hot tub, we decided it was best not to go in! The water was filthy and the temperate was cold, it was a cold tub not a hot tub.

First impressions were how helpful the staff were. They upgraded us immediately once they knew we were in a wedding party. The food was excellent. Breakfast had loads of choice and piping hot with fresh tea and coffee served at our table. Wedding banquet was superb. Bar staff were really great and speedy service always. Rooms were really comfortable and warm. Really good value for money. All in all couldn't fault the whole experience. We would definitely go back again.

A beautiful location and well kept hotel. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Fantastic location for a wedding. Wasn't impressed being locked out of the hotel at 12.30 at night. Very hard to get someone to open the door and in the end had to ring the hotel to get in.

My wife and I stayed at the summerhill to attend a family weddimg at the hotel , It was our first visit to this part of Ireland and we would highly recomend staying at your hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and the breakfast was superb. We also ate evening meals here too and they were great. The hotel staff were very nice and polite and always had time for a chat,We would like to say a special thank you to Tom who made our stay extra special. We enjoyed a nice stroll into the local village of Enniskerry and met more very friendly people and we would love to return in the near future to have a Guiness served in your hotel from Tom and and all your fantastic staff. Thank you all. From Carole & Mark from Liverpool.

The breakfast is pretty ok and would not have taken much to make it very good. The bed linen had tears in them as had the undercarriage of the bed, the bathroom walls were badly stained from leaks, the bath enamel was badly chipped, the bathroom floors were sticky and dirty to walk on. The hotel bar had a stale smell of beer and we waited almost 15 mins for a member of staff to come to serve us but no one came, so we left. The coffee at breakfast was extremely strong and when we asked for a fresh pot it came very weak and was not drinkable. The smell of stale cigarettes as you enter the front door is not a welcoming aroma, overall I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We were supposed to be staying in the Courtyard but got upgraded to the main hotel. Everything about the hotel was lovely, staff, grounds etc. Were at a wedding there and the food was out of this world. Everything was set up beautifully and really enjoyed the day. Breakfast the next day was gorgeous and will definitely be coming back again

The staff were brilliant. We had our wedding there and they helped us so much. It's a real family hotel where they make you feel at home. We have a baby they the manager even helped me with the baby which I didn't expect. Everyone at the wedding loved the hotel and the food was second none was amazing and there was plenty of it. Lovely hotel and countryside great venue for weddings as you have the place to yourself and staff are great. Or nice for a quiet relaxing break away from city. Powerscourt is just beside hotel with waterfall beside it. Great place would recommend it.

I attended a wedding and hotel provided a beautiful setting, with wonderful food...the wedding dinner in particular, was gorgeous. Very well done and lovely for photographs. Even if it was a weekend break, it would still have been a great place to stay, very comfortable and lovely staff.

The staff at Summerhill House were all outstanding 5*. The food was also excellent, I was particularly impressed with the standard of the food at the Christening which I attended on the Sunday. I did feel that some of the decor in the bedrooms was a little tired. In particular the room in which my Mother stayed had what looked like cigarette burns in the beadspread. It was also a little cold in the bedrooms in the evening and I was told there was no way to turn up the heating.

The only positive during our stay was the staff at the dinner, they were amazing and made up for an otherwise awful hotel experience. Upon arrival for a wedding our room was not ready. When we received our keys at 4:30pm to our room the room had not actually been cleaned so we had to wait again. Also we travelled in a group and had booked a house but were told that one pair in the group had to stay in the main hotel as there were no houses available despite booking about six months in advance.

We liked the quietness of the area and the setting of the hotel. It was right next to the Powerscourt Estate which we wanted to see. There were restaurants nearby and beautiful scenery in the Wicklow Mountains. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant one night and it was very good. The room was lovely and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was also plentiful and good quality.

Good location. Very close to Powerscourt Gardens. Good lighting in bathroom. Best shave I had in Ireland. The "courtyard" rooms are away from the Main Hotel. These are very noisy. Absolutely no privacy. The couple upstairs woke us in the morning. He wasn't a great stayer. Breakfast was disappointing. Nothing cooked to order.

The drive in to the hotel grounds was lovely but the hotel itself left a lot to be desired. A terrible shame becaause the website made it look very promising!! The negatives outway the positives by a mile!! I was expecting much more and was sorely disappointed!! This hotel was shabby and out of touch with the times. Could do with a make over. 1 wooden toilet seat in the Ladies in the bar was broken and the Mens toilets were stinking. There was a wedding on Fri 19th Aug and took over the seating in the bar. We felt like we interrupting the guests by coming in to the bar standing around with no where to sit down. We had to wait at the bar until they rang the bell at 6pm to get a seat and find a Bar food menu. We were rushing for a concert in Kilruddery House at 7pm so this wasnt ideal. There were pther people in the same situation and were not impressed. Bad organization. The menu was bland and unimaginitive. The Burger was the only substantial thing on the menu. We were told that it may take time due to the wedding. It was obvious that the staff couldnt cope with the numbers. They should have a seperate area for wedding guests. The bar staff were not very approachable they were completely stressed out and we felt that we were irritating them buy ordering food. Made us feel unwelcome. Couldnt understand why they pulled down a shutter after midnight, thought it was supposed to be a residents bar?? Felt more like a gaa Club. My friend ordered a drink at the bar and was told go in to the other bar where the wedding was on. He did and was greeted by a very grumpy rude young girl who refused to to get his order and then eventually git it!! She said she wasnt making any hot port and hot toddies!! She asked him if he was a resident and to go back to the other bar!! Unbelievabley rude and ignorant. Although if the management was a bit better then the staff wldnt be so stressed, unhelpful and overworked. Breakfast was no better, there wern't enough tables. We were told to find our friends and sit next to them. When we eventually got a table there was no cutlery or cups.

Reason for staying was attending a concert at Killruddery House with my wife and friends. We had never stayed in the area before and tried a lot of hotels in the Bray area which had no vacancies and I suppose to be honest we only came to Summerhill House as a second choice. However after staying in the hotel I think it was a blessing that the other hotels had no vacancies as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the location could not have been better for the concert and for exploring the area which we did the day after the concert. Unfortunately due to other commitments we could only fit in the two days but we were so impressed with the hotel and the area that we will definitely be back again.

beautiful setting, quiet, we were very surprised our stay turned out so well, we had not heard of your hotel and we needed a hotel at very short notice, I will certainly recommend it too people wishing to stay close to Dublin - not too close- and experience beautiful surroundings and a great place to meet with friends and catch up.
