Lovely location near the sea. Staff were very friendly and helpful and even though we stayed only one night it felf like a holiday.
There was a bad smell from the gents toilet near the restaurant when we arrived and throughout our stay. It was very disappointing that this was not remedied as this is a high traffic area for staff as well as guests. Another reviewer has commented on the clammy clingy shower curtain - this happened to me too - move the rail or upgrade to a proper glass shower screen.
Excellent friendly staff. Location great. Food very good. Room comfortable but on other occasions were given bigger room.
Toilet plumbing very poor. Reported problem to staff on departure but they are aware of the problem and apologised.
Breakfast delicious. Staff friendly and helpful. Room comfy and warm. Good value.
Corridor and bedroom needs updating. More variety for breakfast e.g. Pancakes or waffles.
Most of the staff art exhibition décor
The temperature in the restaurant in the morning it was too warm
Lovely hotel and lovely staff
Staff friend Pleasant Atmospher Good leisure facilities, (no shower gell in any of the dispensers in the showers in the leisure centre)
Location Close to all amenities. ( no pedriestrian crossing outside hotel, try to cross the road at a bend on the road to get to the car park) very dangerous.
Bad service provided. Understaffed on Sunday. One person in Reception with 2 large groups and other people checking out in the morning. 4 star and no mini bar in the rooms.
position, room, breckfast
Location, sea view. Early morning walk along harbour, just outside the front door. Breakfast, plenty of choice, good service.
Room a bit cramped, bed not particularly comfortable, lift slow.
From the moment we stepped into the hotel until we left we were very impressed with the hotel & staff nothing was too much for them. Bedroom & bathroom were very clean & above all the bed was so comfortable it gets even better the TV was the best we've come across in any hotel glad to give you praise it's well deserved we WILL be back SOOOON THANKS
View from the room was overlooking air conditioning units on top of a flat roof - ugly
Staff and services are the best we've had in Wexford town. There are other places further away from town as nice, but for downtown, this is as good as it gets. Tried most of the hotels in town and this one is as close to the Ritz as you are gonna find in Wexford. Great pool and leisure center in back too!
The food at the restaurant is pretty mediocre (and that may be on the liberal side of the definition). Menu is geared toward older crowd. Items on menu are not accurately named/prepared. Also nightly entertainment is geared for an older crowd (a karaoke guy who sings 50's songs like Wayne Newton, etc.). While that may not be a *bad* thing... if you are younger, be prepared. If you are looking for nightlife, this is not the place. Just stay here and go out to have a good time.
Lovely food friendly staff, nice break
Staff were very nice.
Room was dirty looking and old and the breakfast was horrible.
We were very pleased with quality of service we received, the staff were more then helpful, friendly and welcoming. We were also delighted at the fact that we may have found the perfect wedding venue
The cot previded for our baby was of poor quality with no suitable mattress to suit a small child and therefore we had to keep the baby in the main bed which caused some mild discomfort. The breakfast buffet did not serve hash browns
The girl at reception was excellent on check in offered us dinner in restaurant at very good price as i had only booked B & B and the meal in restaurant was excellent great value and great food
The noise of cars passing all night as we were in room 410 which was directly on corner of main road when we eventually got to sleep only to be woke up by telephone ringing about 3 times and light going on flashing over the door we spoke with someone and he said they were texting the generators we eventually pligged out the phone but the street noise kept us awake
The staff are excellent and a credit to the hotel. The lobby, bars and restaurants all very clean and look good.
Bedrooms are dated. Our first room had an issue with the heating which could not be controlled was over 30 degrees when we entered and was noisy. The replacement room had a better temperature but the same noisy plumbing both late at night and early morning.
The food in the bar was lovely, Great staff very helpful and friendly and of course a proper residents bar :)
ambience and politeness of staff
Location Bed Breakfast
Requested a quiet room away from traffic noise and was given room on extreme south side of hotel overlooking road and the noise and vibration from traffic was very intrusive. When I complained I was given a quiet room. Why could this not be done in first place? I left two phone chargers behind in room and it took three telephone calls over two days for staff to tell me they found them. They promised to ring back but never did saying they were too busy.
Clean, central location, friendly staff
Noisy. As the bed is close to the door, we heard everything and we were woken up very early in the morning
The public areas were quite nicely done up. Comfortable bed. Comfortable lobby area with excellent sandwiches being served there.
The rooms were looking very tired. Dirty carpets, holes in the walls, noisy toilet, noisy pipes, air-con unit not working properly, apart from the new beds everything looked as if it was in need of an urgent update. Food in the "better" restaurant was very disappointing, everything pre-cooked and overdone. Had a better meal in the pub area, even though that had an atmosphere of a large beer hall and smelled strongly of Fish and Chips.
view from our room and closeness to town
Friendly staff Clean Lively bar with good entertainment Good dinner in restaurant
