The staff are excellent and a credit to the hotel. The lobby, bars and restaurants all very clean and look good.
Bedrooms are dated. Our first room had an issue with the heating which could not be controlled was over 30 degrees when we entered and was noisy. The replacement room had a better temperature but the same noisy plumbing both late at night and early morning.
The food in the bar was lovely, Great staff very helpful and friendly and of course a proper residents bar :)
ambience and politeness of staff
Location Bed Breakfast
Requested a quiet room away from traffic noise and was given room on extreme south side of hotel overlooking road and the noise and vibration from traffic was very intrusive. When I complained I was given a quiet room. Why could this not be done in first place? I left two phone chargers behind in room and it took three telephone calls over two days for staff to tell me they found them. They promised to ring back but never did saying they were too busy.
Clean, central location, friendly staff
Noisy. As the bed is close to the door, we heard everything and we were woken up very early in the morning
The public areas were quite nicely done up. Comfortable bed. Comfortable lobby area with excellent sandwiches being served there.
The rooms were looking very tired. Dirty carpets, holes in the walls, noisy toilet, noisy pipes, air-con unit not working properly, apart from the new beds everything looked as if it was in need of an urgent update. Food in the "better" restaurant was very disappointing, everything pre-cooked and overdone. Had a better meal in the pub area, even though that had an atmosphere of a large beer hall and smelled strongly of Fish and Chips.
view from our room and closeness to town
Friendly staff Clean Lively bar with good entertainment Good dinner in restaurant
Hotel room and value for money
friendly staff, location
room 105 had all the hotels external aircon fans and ducts outside the bedroom window. NO SLEEP
Carpets and skirting boards dirty and Cups and saucers in room unwashed.Communal areas had uncleared tables for long periods. Staff appeared unmotivated not worth more than 2star rating. Properly managed could be 4star. As one off our two rooms had to be changed comments of double standard regards room quality appear correct Rooms in 100s to be avoided. Our booking was made 6 months prior to travel.
The bar meal was excellent.
I enjoyed the food, the early bird menu was very good value for money.
Whats not to like!!
The staff were excellent. They couldnt do enough for you.
The room which we were given was decorated in grey and white. Very uninviting. Bathroom could have been cleaner.
Like most hotels, the noise of room doors closing is annoying
Nice bar, ok location
We had preordered two doubles, and on of them with separate beds. When we arrived both rooms were not ready, so we put our luggage in the double bed room. The reception assured us the other room had two beds. When we came back after dinner and went to this room, it had one small double bed. Not suitable for two grown ups without an intimate relation! The porter on duty spent one (1) hour looking for ekstra beds to put in one room!! They were all without springs etc. , so one of us ended up on the floor on a matrass!! Not even sufficient bedclothing were provided. Poor service from a "luxury hotel". They said all rooms were booked when we tried to rearrange and prepared to pay for a bigger room. In the breakfast room next morning, the staff seemed to be half asleep and occupied with each other before attending guests.
The location was good, breakfast was ok Residents bar that served until late. Great view from the room, I had requested a seaview room and paid €10 extra on arrival
Breakfast was very skimpy, staff were not over friendly, not much variety on barfood menu, room was so dilapidated marks all over the walls, bathmath was disgusting and discoloured. no iron, wallpaper peeling off walls, old and haggard furniture, rooms need serious decorating. overall i thought the hotel was way overpriced for a Sunday evening, I dont think I would return, its a bit dingy.
The first meal in the restaurant The foyer The pool although it was darkly lit
The room Poor air conditioning Breakfast left a lot to be desired
Beds are comfortable and free breakfast.
Location and parking.
Tv barely worked - apparently this was "bad reception" due to poor weather. Can't decide whether this was an implausible or simply limp excuse when we reported the problem. Don't really go to a hotel to watch tv but all the same.......
comfortable.Goodlocation.Great to have a secure car parking
some of the staff didnt seem to know the word sorry.---once when I pointed out the dirty jug we got with tea Later we were given white lemonade instead of soda for a wine spritzer we ordered
dining room facilities very good excellent food staff very friendly reception area staff most helpful convenient parking
bedroom very small and very warm despite air conditioning very small bathroom
Breakfast room bright and cheerful
Rooms very tired looking. Very noisy as over function room and partying until 1.30 am! Lobby smelt of tobacco. Parking across busy street from hotel so difficult with luggage. Should invest in some new towels
we love the bar for its food and service it was a lovely place to eat and the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was lovely and bright with plenty of space.
