Overlooking Dublin Bay, this hotel offers rooms with private bathrooms in Dun Laoghaire’s town centre, just off the main street.
Score from 456 reviews Very good
With full Irish breakfasts and free Wi-Fi, this family-run B&B is in the center of Dun Laoghaire. Dublin is a 20-minute drive away, and the DART train station is a 5-minute walk from the lodge.
Score from 225 reviews Good

Pet friendly great breakfast
Hosts very helpful and welcoming. Location great for local shops and restaurants. Good breakfast.
Good welcome, well located, pleasant staff and an excellent breakfast
Room pokey terrible nauseating smell in ensuit Overall very old fashioned tatty establishment
Location and breakfast
Room could use upgrading
Hosts were excellent, good breakfast & comfortable beds.
It's not actually in Dun Laoghaire but in Sandycove which is the next DART station along. So it was an expensive taxi ride to get into Dun Laoghaire were we thought we were staying.
Breakfast finished at 9-30 . Bedroom too small and cold
Friendly owner, comfortable room and good breakfast. Close to Sandycove Dart station. Minutes walk to the sea.
About 20 minutes walk from from Dun Laoghaire dart station. Not a problem as long as you know the accommodation is closer to Sandycove.
Old fashioned and sincere hospitality.
The whole place
Location to the DART rail system was very useful for access to the city centre and along the coast of Dublin moth to South.
The bedroom was not ensuite which was not noted during online booking.
Location Very nice and friendly lady welcoming you and no effort to much to do something special like for breakfast
They mention free parking, but basically they have like 3 spaces in the back which is not really a parking space where you can park your car. I had to park in one of the streets in the neighbourhood. Confort is good, but "olderly" interior and due to some "fresh up" in my opinion.
The rooms were spacious and private
Great location and friendly staff and great breakfast
Desperately needs a lift and new decor and showers that are more spacious and efficient
The friendliness and genuine helpfulness Good Irish breakfasts
Mike & Margarete (the owner) were really nice. Old, but pretty rooms. We had one big bed (1,40m) and one smaller bed. Very quiet at night. The suburb is very nice and the B&B is very close to the sea and the DART station Sandycove and Glasthule. The radio was on during breakfast.
Taking a shower was quite adventurous. There is one knob for hot water and one for cold water. It's not easy to regulate the temperature. If you don't be careful the water is too hot!
Charming central location Staff helpful
Coffee cold at breakfast
Kind staff, comfortable rooms, great wifi, and clean facility! Good base for exploring the south-of-Dublin coastal towns - including Dalkey / Killiney. Nice breakfast set-up.
Shower door tough to operate, not located right near shore (but a manageable walk from the train station if you don't have too much luggage)
A beautiful and historic regency house. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the bedding and towels were clean and good quality.
Savage 1970's make-over in some rooms, especially the dining room(the most extreme example of artexing I've ever seen). The bathroom in our family room was tiny, the door didn't lock, the shower was pretty ancient, the shower door stuck and the water pressure wasn't great.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice location on a main road easily accesible to busses, DART, AirCoach. Restaurants and shops in easy distance.
Difficult access to room light switch and power outlet but I sorted it out.
Friendly, helpful owner. Fabulous location with great restaurants close by.
Hotel needed up dating.
Friendly host couple! Close to the dart station and airbus to jump on to get to the airport. Yummy breakfast and lots of variety.
Internet connection wasn't great. Bathroom shower super tiny.
Breakfast was delicious
Lack of staff. Weak shower with poor plumbing and overflows. Dirty carpet. All rooms shake and it feels like you will fall.
Hosts were lovely and welcoming. Beds very comfortable. Great location. Definitely stay again and will be recommending Tara Hall to family and friends!
Very kindly and helpful landlady Great breakfast Lovely seaside suburb with lots of dining options+ easy access to DART rail to Dublin Cleanliness Easy to access Wi Fi
Very cramped toilet/shower Smallish room Windows difficult to open/close rather tired decor and furnishings
