Tara Hotel  

The Tara Hotel is centrally located and it is a clean, modern, relatively inexpensive hotel which employs a helpful, extremely friendly staff. There is a restaurant located on the ground floor, although I found it rather expensive.

Since the Tara Hotel is located across the street from the largest fishing port in Ireland, invariably there is going to be noise coming from the trucks, fishing boats, and fishermen at all hours of the night. If you don't want to be disturbed by this noise, request a room on the north side of the hotel, away from the fishing boat docks.

I couldn't say enough about the food, the chef was amazing, we ate late in the restaurant but the food was top notch. all in our party raved about the food, we were only passing through Killybegs but we actually had a discussion the following evening about returning that night to eat there again. only for it would have taken us well out of our way i reckon we would have!! Hotel itself is lovely, very comfortable and friendly staff.

might consider wifi in the general areas of the hotel, although they did have a cable in hte rooms for a laptop.

The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. It is situated right in the centre of Killybegs.

Slightly expensive.

The bedrooms were nicely laid out, the breakfast and bar facilities were relaxing but when we arrived we were informed that the leisure center was closed for the weekend. We were offered no alternatives or no reduction. This was very disappointing and I will not be staying there again as a result.

Local friendly atmosphere & positive outlook of staff. It's my home town so was nice to give something back. Wish the Tara continued success into the future in these hard economic times.

Location and staff were great but value for money was poor costing €100 per night for a couple, P.S. I changed my booking from a single to a double when I arrived. Regards John McNamara

The price!! We stay in Dublin on a regular basis and it only costs €70 - 80 per night for a couple

Great location by fishing harbour, friendle helpful staff and spacious rooms. Good facilities, gym, and jacuzzi. Food was good and bar staff very courteous.

Only small fault, room was a little cool, but it was January so to be expected.

The rooms were very clean and spacious. It is a lovely location. The staff were helpful and friendly. There is a good informal atmosphere. We enjoyed our stay.
