Absolutely stunning decor throughout. Lady owner was lovely, so helpful. Breakfast was lush too. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who like to stay in beautiful accommodation. Close to the centre too.
Not one thing!
The friendly personal reception (so different from chain hotels!), charming decor, flawless comfort of rooms. And the perfect location!
Personal touch of owner and staff...welcoming and most helpful. Beautiful restored townhouse. Superb breakfast. Want to go back.
Google maps showed location about 2 blocks away.
I liked the owner, her consideration, and the room we were changed to. First room, a double, was unusually small, with alley view, no room for two people to fit. When I shared my experience with the owner, she accommodated us promptly with a transfer to a bigger room with window facing street that was very comfortable, and she did add the extra charge.
Initial booked room, which was addressed generously and promptly.
A charming B&B, nicely furnished and as comfy as home (maybe better). The owner is delightful and happy to offer dinner suggestions within a 5 minute walk. The weather was RAINY but our room was great. Lots of natural light and we had the best night sleep followed by a hot breakfast in such a quaint, well decorated dining room. The owner made us feel right at home. Wish we could have stayed longer. It was a GEM in Cork. Parking is free and onsite.
Excellent staff, great location.
I liked were it was situated and the breakfast was good
I was in a tiny room and was changed 65 euro.very expensive for such a small room
Wonderful location and easy to walk to the town centre.
Was invited to go to room 10 up the stairs. No effort by host or hostess to help with bag. Room 4 flights up. I am 70 so I thought such a courtesy would be offered.
Close to city centre
It was clean. The location was great for UCC.
The wifi didn't reach my room, which was tiny. Asking for poached eggs at breakfast I just got one. The road outside was noisy with students coming back from the pub and traffic in the morning.
Breakfasts were fantastic! Room and especially bathroom very small. Suggest that you ask for larger room if possible, especially if you travel with a lot if luggage.
Location, attentive owner who provided a continental breakfast as I had to leave before breakfast sitting.
8-9.30am breakfast sitting
First you feel you are welcome ; at the end of the day when you come back to the guesthouse you almost feel at home;we ate giant pancakes for breakfast ...so good; Angela and her waitress often smiled and this is very important ;also we had two keys and could return at anytime in the night
The room was very clean, quiet and the beds were so comfortable. Great location-right by the university and close to the city centre. The staff were absolutely amazing and the breakfast was outstanding, particularly for a B&B. I recommend the pancakes and the full breakfast!
Beautiful older home, perfectly maintained. Excellent staff and breakfast.
Rooms were very small. Cork was not one of our favorite cities.
Cork college was walking distance, beautiful campus
This is a well located B&B on a main road into the city. Very comfortable with a lovely bed and nice shower room. Pleasant staff. Decor pleasantly over the top which provides one part of the eccentric tag.
Breakfast starts late - 8.00 during the week and 8.30 at weekends, not convenient if you are trying to get to meetings. It also takes a long time - there was a queue waiting for a table each morning I was there. The food was very good though and probably cooked fresh hence the wait so I was ok with it. Pay cash if you don't want you credit card currency conversion happening automatically (at poor rates).
Good breakfast .
The bedroom had a large step in and a large step into the toilet we did not like this at all. The bedroom was small and the bedding too heavy almost to be able to move off the bed. Lacked the Irish charm
Lovely comfortable stay, with a great breakfast.
Room was at very top so being a women on my own with a heavy bag it was very difficult to get up and down the stairs
Angela and Shirley's breakfast. The room was perfect. Bus or walk into Cork.
The Blarney Stone is a beautifully decorated townhouse just on the outskirts of the main part of Cork City. The place was so nice that our spirits were not even dampened by the two flights of stairs to our room. The bathroom has been recently updated, and our room was moderately sized. Breakfast was excellent with a great selection on the menu. The staff were gracious, and even though we were there for only one night, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There is a very small car park in front and more space behind the building.
The only problem we had was finding the place, but once we did, it was well worth it.
great breakfast clean and comfortable room friendly staff
noise from the street late at night
Too much sound could not sleep with window open.
Easy parking Comfortable Bed Ease of walking distance to town Good pressure shower WiFi
Noise transfer when people open/close doors in adjoining rooms
