Friendly and helpful staff, pleasant ambiance, nicely decorated, sense of spaciousness throughout. If you have a car, it's an excellent location. The Spa is very nice indeed. Absolutely outstanding value for money for the price I paid: very large accommodation and free entry to the Spa for considerably less than a small room in many Killarney 3 stars! The images of the suites on the website are of the Bridal Suite, not the Executive Suite, so they are misleading. The Executive Suite is pleasant and very large, but there's only one window with no real view: natural light is very poor. These suites feel more like family rooms than suites: there's two single beds and one double in each, and the seating areas are rudimentary. Nonetheless, a very nice room and still recommended if these considerations don't bother you. The breakfast was adequate, but not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel.

Having a daughter of 9 months old, both my wife and I found the rooms very 'child friendly', ie plugs out of sight, no sharp corners (baby proofed being another suitable phrase). The entrance is very grand, the staff extremely friendly and accomodating. The rooms were also very well furnished and met our requirements. The spa was also quite well laid out. Very little but there was a few issues: The Gym - Not what I would have expected from such an establishment. More what I would find at someones garage. Eg, dumbell rack contained at total of 6 free weights (each pair being a diff brand to the next) Upon entering the gym itself, the lights had to be turned on, the Tv's were not working and I also had to switch on any of the CV equip that I wished to use (being only 3 machines in either case). All in all, not impressed. Otherwise, everything else was of a very high standard. The pool - Having a child, we were looking for a hotel that had a pool on site, the Brehon does but has age restrictions which were not outlined on the web site (from what I could see). The receptionist did advise that we could use the pool in the neighbouring Gleneagles hotel free of charge. This being a slight inconvenience given the need to walk across 300m of open car park to get there (in the infamous Kerry winter weather). Needless to say, we did not use this option. The Brehon bar - Residents were unable to book a table here for dinner if they so wished. Tables could only be booked in their Fine dining establishment. Unfortunately the Bar does get quite busy with shows taking place in the nearby Gleneagles hotel which led to delays of up to 1 hour for a table.

It was an overall very positive experience. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. It was a lovely facility and felt luxurious The only thing I could say that could be improved would be the night time room service food. However when this was raised with the staff the meal was immediately removed from the bill and the feedback was welcomed

Excellent and friendly staff. Very good location for a concert at the inec( 2 minute walk). Super breakfast and attentive staff in dining hall. Beautiful room with excellent view of the Mountains. Good car parking. Only the Price. Considering we stayed on a Thursday evening it was pricey. However, it was the Thursday before Christmas and there was a wedding reception being held there, so perhaps it was not typical of usual pricing during the year.

There were lots of things that my wife and I liked about the hotel but the following were the main points: Staff - extremely efficient and friendly, nothing was too much hassle Common area decor and hotel layout - the hotel is well designed and easy to get around. The lobby, spa and restaurant decor looks really well and is more of a 5 star standard than 4 star. Food - ate in bar and had breakfast two of the three days in the restaurant. All meals were excellent. There were very few dislikes. If we were really nitpicking the points we would note are: Bar atmosphere - the bar is lacking something. The decor is nice and staff are friendly but the lay out may be wrong and the lighting is too bright. I felt the atmosphere was lacking here when we went for a drink or ate there. Spa Jacuzzi & Steam room - the jacuzzi temperature was too cool and the steam room lacks intense steam. Everything else at the spa was brilliant. Gym - could do with some upgrading. The bike's pedals were broken and the tv was quite small.

I stayed at the Brehon for a friends wedding just before christmas and it was pure elegance food and atmostphere were both outstanding. The morning after the wedding we missed the breakfast as there was a problem with the water we had no water for when we wanted to shower to go for breakfast we were asked to use the one in the spa. When the water returend it was brown we complained at the reception but got no satisfaction.

Staff are good and hotel is obviously well run. Reception staff are particularly quick and efficent. The standard of food in the main restaraunt is superb and I have always got exactly as I have ordered. Having stayed here on a number of visits, I can not understand the difference in quality between the bar food and the main restaraunt food. This visit I had a steak in the bar. I requested medium rare without mashed potates. I got well done with mashed potatoes. The bar was not busy so I have to assume my request was not passed on to kitchen or just ignored. The meat, a pretty rough looking sirloin to begin with, may have been cooked too early and then left to continue cooking under an arc lamp. The waiter offered a free dessert, which I did not require, and then knocked the price of my 2 x Diet Coike off the bill.
