The Brehon  

It really felt like we were valued customers. The staff was very polite and the environment and atmosphere of the place was very relaxing. We also tried the restaurant which served us a delicious steak and the bar with a pretty decent selection of cocktails. Also, the upgrade of the room to Superior is totally worth it. Good wine, good chocolate and an awesome huge bed are waiting for a little extra.

Lovely hotel rooms are a good size and very comfortable bed. The bathroom was big and a shower separate from the bath. We stayed the bank holiday weekend in May which the Rally of the Lakes takes place in Killarney. It did not bother us as we were not disturbed by the noise at night. The breakfast was lovely, huge selection and it was all piping hot, something for everyone.Myself and my husband would stay here again and i would say to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Killarney to book the Brehon.

The only complaint i would have is the bar menu, way too expensive for bar food, there is a recession on but it must have not effected them in Kerry.

The spa was fantastic a real relaxing place with very helpful and friendly staff.

The room badly needed work. Paint work was terrible and needed repainting and could have been a lot cleaner. Not impressed.

Absolutely a first class five-star hotel. Our group of 8 was totally happy with every aspect of the hotel's location, service, room facilities, cleanliness, and best of all - a staff with a smile on their face! We all agreed that The Brehon is a superb Hotel, and all of the group can't wait to return.

There is nothing to dislike at The Brehon.

Excellent facilities with friendly and helpful staff.

Bathroom facilities not 100% (noisy sink). Minor irritation. Also, leaky teapots in dining area!!!

Just the room could do with a fresh coat of paint and agood hoovering lots of hair in carpet. Rest was good. Extractor did not work in bathroom. A bit expensive hoping to have a visit again sometime. Thanks

Rooms and bathrooms were spacious and well equipped Food in the restuarant was very good and the set menu was excellent value The lobby area is very spacious and comfortable

The breakfast was ho-hum and not of an exceptional standard as you'd expect of a hotel of this quality

The noise insulation between rooms should be better.

Heard alot about the brehon from people so was expecting alot and it lived up to all expectations.. Fabulous sums it up... Bar food was absolutely amazing, staff were really friendly and the room was beautiful. Could not fault it and I can't wait to go back..

Having a daughter of 9 months old, both my wife and I found the rooms very 'child friendly', ie plugs out of sight, no sharp corners (baby proofed being another suitable phrase). The entrance is very grand, the staff extremely friendly and accomodating. The rooms were also very well furnished and met our requirements. The spa was also quite well laid out.

Very little but there was a few issues: The Gym - Not what I would have expected from such an establishment. More what I would find at someones garage. Eg, dumbell rack contained at total of 6 free weights (each pair being a diff brand to the next) Upon entering the gym itself, the lights had to be turned on, the Tv's were not working and I also had to switch on any of the CV equip that I wished to use (being only 3 machines in either case). All in all, not impressed. Otherwise, everything else was of a very high standard. The pool - Having a child, we were looking for a hotel that had a pool on site, the Brehon does but has age restrictions which were not outlined on the web site (from what I could see). The receptionist did advise that we could use the pool in the neighbouring Gleneagles hotel free of charge. This being a slight inconvenience given the need to walk across 300m of open car park to get there (in the infamous Kerry winter weather). Needless to say, we did not use this option. The Brehon bar - Residents were unable to book a table here for dinner if they so wished. Tables could only be booked in their Fine dining establishment. Unfortunately the Bar does get quite busy with shows taking place in the nearby Gleneagles hotel which led to delays of up to 1 hour for a table.
