Friendly and approachable staff to help with suggesting the best places to go. Very comfortable - simple but lovely.
Location was fantastic, couldn't have been in a better place for what we wanted from our visit. The staff were friendly & approachable. It's basic but it's clean, you get what you pay for. It wasn't noisy/rowdy on a night full of drunken revellers which was nice.
The light/fan in the toilet was really noisy, which didn't bother us during the day but you can hear them at night when people in adjacent rooms use the toilet. It didn't bother us massively and we don't like to moan/complain but some people might find this a problem.
Location and low price
Shower flooded every time I used it.
Small and friendly, especially Yvonne. Helpful reception staff. Great view from the front across the square opposite. Clean, good sized room with En-suite and tea and coffee making facilities. Great to have free wi-fi, even on the 4th floor. Good location unless you want to be nearer Temple Bar. Most of the tourist locations are south of the river Liffey. UK type 13A sockets.
Staff should read booking requests. Real orange juice and decent coffee with breakfast. The cooked breakfast was great. Bathrooms were a bit cramped (only used 2 rooms). Great shower though - good pressure.
Be careful with your personal security Whilst out and about Hotel fine
Dublin is great once you understand the bus tours (3 plus the local buses) and 2 airport transfer firms with very similar names. Some good pubs (liked the Confession Box) and plenty of eateries. Temple bar a must good but expensive.
Some parts of the city are quite rough and once you've done 3 bus tours that is sufficient. Art galleries partially closed due to renovation.
Extremely clean Well cooked breakfast Value for money Friendly staff Excellent location Large room & ensuite (room 99) Quiet accommodation Very comfortable beds Plenty of amenities for a low budget guesthouse (tea/coffee facilities/freeview TV/shower gel & handwash/table & chairs/full length mirror/dressing table/plenty of wall sockets/iron & ironing board) TV room & a luggage room available
Hard to find things to dislike, but if I was going to be picky: 1 radiator in large basement ensuite (room 99) - was a bit chilly at times Very old kettle, took a good 5 minutes to boil Very limited channels on the freeview TV Said Irish breakfast on booking.com printout but it was a standard English WiFi was near enough useless throughout the stay
The location was perfect.
Room was freezing cold
Friendly staff, good location, excellent breakfast. and good price value.
The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Check in and check out was smooth. The hotel is located 2 minutes walk away from O'Connell Street and 10-15 mins walk from Temple Bar, where there are loads of great bars and great music. Breakfast is basic but there was plenty to eat. Best selling point is it's location, so if that's what matters most to you, book it!
The showers are powerful, which is great, but they are really loud. We wanted to get up early so it wasn't a huge issue, but if you plan on sleeping in after 8am you may want to hope that the rooms around you are empty. Their showers will wake you if not. The area where you leave your luggage before checking in is basically an unsecured dumping ground, full of things the hotel should really have just thrown out. It's untidy and didn't feel secure. You leave bags at your own risk, I suppose, but a locked room or perhaps something behind the reception desk or in the receptionists view may have been more appropriate. It's just kind of downstairs and out of the way. Our bag was fine, I should add, but it made us feel a little nervous.
good location hotel could do with a general modernisation but overall value for money
Nice location close to the city. Staff helpful with advice where to go . Room every day cleaned.
Location great for Dublin
Room very noisy from water system when others using showers, sinks etc. in other rooms
Good value place to stay!
Communal bathroom was too close to my room - I should have asked to change maybe.
The location of this guesthouse is brilliant - a one minute walk away from O'Connell street and about 15 minutes away from Temple Bar! The room was very clean and comfortable. Great shower - very powerful and hot. Can find showers to not be great in some places I've stayed. Staff are available 24 hours and happy to help. Would definitely recommend this guesthouse.
We were placed in room 108 and both rooms 107 & 108 were the only rooms a bit of the way. It appeared to be an extension and we had to walk past the laundry rooms to get to it. Could get slightly noisy when the laundry was being taken out as we were right beside a back door onto a small street. Was fine at night time but noisy enough during the day. If loud people were staying in room 107 it could possibly be a problem too but we didn't have this problem. That's my only small complaint but other than that the place was brilliant and I would definitely recommend it.
Quite room, good location, good breakfast, helpful staff
Very-very hot water with no mixer tap. My kids and I nearly birn ourselfs... The window doesn't open, so couldn'r refresh the air in the room. No spare key....
Beautiful historic building. Great area in Dublin. Staff are very helpful. Comfty bed, large bath.
On a busy street, could be loud if at building front. Wifi hardly reached our room (in basement). A bit outdated.
All other points would encourage us to visit again
Electrical plugs were not reliable
I only stayed for 5 hr only to have sex so the bed was cool no spring sounds at all Haa.
small, tide shower fit only one person
the very friendly staff
the hotel could use some general cleaning up and renovation in somthing more modern.
Lovely and warm, liked having a bath . very helpful reception staff who helped make our stay enjoyable with good advice.
breakfast staff were a little slam your breakfast down, felt they were maybe understaffed or possibly a language barrier. Just lacked a little charm and warmth at times.
Safe and secure
Nice clean room, friendly atmosphere, great location
Room was much too warm and I was unable to control the room temperature. Made it difficult to sleep
Very shabby interior. Rooms very basic and small, run down and incredibly hot.
