Besides the fact its at old pub, the floor is not always flat, it was a good get away from a packpackers for very little more, and you can see they are working hard to get it returned to a good inn, And getting there was Easter than said, take the blue 16 bus from the airport, the Gus at the airport will point you in the right way

Didn't know where the front door was, was it in the pub or the black door on the street, turned out it was that door, than you go up the stairs to the deck

Staff friendly and tried to fix the situation, offering us a new room at a higher floor.

It was very loudy from the below metal bar & club because windows were not isolated. Tablecloths were very dirty. Fixed shower head.

- beds were comfy enough - room was of a fair size

- it was very unclean - steps up to room were very diagonal, not very safe - not good value for the price you pay - very disappointed - would never recommend it or stay there again...1 of the worst hotels i've stayed at

the bums rush by cleaning staff at 11:30 A.M. demanding I vacate the room. Check out condition in fact stated 11:30 - 12:00 noon as the check out time.

A bit tatty and run down

The bed was very comfortable. The Gate is very central just of O'Connell Street.

It is a pub really - if I had known what it was like I would not have booked, and it smelt awful of stale alcohol. Said I had the best room, which was dark with very little light, no coffee, only tea in room and had to move the tray to the floor to plug in. I would not stay there again. And the reception is very tatty, does not look like the photo at all.

Reception staff attitude, advertised facilities where wrong. Not even a hairdryer. Everything was dirty. Wrong information given for breakfast, so missed it by 5 mins. Entrance smells of urine and faeces. Yuck do not stay here! The noise from the bar below and bars that back onto the hotel is awful.

Easily found at the top of OConnell and a little to the right, right above Fibber McGees. Couldnt have got better location for the money spent. Very clean room, dont be fooled by the old exterior, the rooms are modern, clean, and the breakfast is worth the early wakeup call. On arrival a very helpful receptionist was waiting and we must have met 4 different receptionists who were all very helpful. No hassle leaving our suitcase after midday checkout so we could get some shopping in before our 4.30pm train. I would recommend to others and stay again. Good location for Henry and Mary st shopping and a good pizza place beside The Savoy.

Breakfast.

The shower doors were not attached properly and came off when stepped into the shower had red tape over them. The window did not have handles to close properly so did not block out the noise from the street. Also I cut my finger in the hot tap as there was led sticking out from it and the duvet had cigarette burns on it. There was alot of music coming from the bar till very late which was not stated on their advert.

I loved that it was so close to O'Connell street, easy to find.The room/beds were comfortable, the room was warm. The staff was friendly.

The main thing was that the stairs was not clean/hoovered, the mirror was a bit low over the sink, and a chair missing from the main bed room to leave clothes on.

It is very noisy all through the night. The room is dirty indeed. There is a bar just on the ground floor. Almost impossible to get to sleep. The aisle has a strong smoky smell.

Where do I start; - Smelled like a gents toilets throughout the hotel - Night staff were beyond rude - Doors didn't close fully in our room - Sheets were filthy - Towels were filthy - Bathroom in general was filthy - Overpriced - Dark - Dingey I think that gets my point accross. Anyone thinking of staying at The Gate, don't bother. You'd be better giving your money to someone in a shop doorway to lend their sleeping bag!!

Not one thing good to say about this hotel

The man on reception, the room, very small and the bathroom shower dirty, poor lighting, not outlet for the kettle, lights that did not work, worst hotel ever!

staff were very friendly and helpful specially the woman on the reception. very clean and comfortable, i would stay again.great location in heart of Dublin. Also affordable price.thanks for good service

The location was close to everything

It was right on top of a late night bar and the music was so loud and quiet down till 3 in the morning. Very fusterating when you have to be up at 6 In the morning
