The bed was stiff and lumpy, and we had a lot of trouble sleeping. Even from the perspective of a firm mattress person, the beds at The Glen could benefit greatly from a foam mattress topper and some new pillows. The shower was very small, and my 6' husband had trouble with accidentally hitting the controls a lot while showering, and enduring major temperature swings. The taps at the sink were the push button kind that are supposed to save water, but instead, the water ran forever and was incredibly difficult to shut off - they will be spending a lot on water if the Republic of Ireland does switch to metered water as has been discussed.
The location was a convenient walk from nearly everything we wanted to see, while still being in a quiet residential area. The hotel was clean, and the rooms had been fairly recently renovated. The breakfast included several different options, and was tasty.
