Location quiet with beautiful grounds-enjoyed a lovely woodland walk. Only staying one night so only had breakfast in the Woodlands restaurant but food was plentiful and enjoyable. The lounge was ideal for a relaxing cup of tea/coffee. Staff friendly, hotel clean and the double bed (in our family room)was huge! and very comfortable. We would definitely stay again, hopefully long enough to try the pool and spa.
Food staff room entertainment
Nothing to not like.
The setting & the scenery are absolutely fabulous, the walks around the hotel in the forest are magical
It was assumed we knew the situation at breakfast, we were waiting on a member of staff to advise us but we were just shown to a table, & asked if we wanted tea/coffee & toast - due to a lack of guidance we just followed the other guests & were not advised of the table menu. Also not advised of specials at dinner in the conservatory. Also our family room was MUCH smaller than our in laws, even tho we made our booking first, we both booked family rooms & we both had 2 children
-The staff were very helpful - Their single rooms are double rooms and the one I stayed in had two comfy armchairs too - It has the potential to be a really good hotel if they improved the few things I mentioned
- The mattress was sagging and hard. When they changed it for another one, it was still too hard and had a spiky bit poking up in one place - Both the dinner food in the bar and the breakfast food were poor quality (the chips tasted like they'd been there all day and the breakfast fry was rubbery) - Neither the jacuzzi or hot tub were working - The TV didn't have many channels and there was no movie channel or DVD player
Very friendly welcome and highly professional check in.I mentioned that I was leaving a 4am for an airport and was offered tea and something to eat before I left and also a wake up call. Leisure Centre pool and changing area spotless
Leaving the hotel
Lovely friendly and efficient staff, service ,food and ambiance .
Dressing rooms in leisure centre very cld
Reception was quick and efficient Bedrooom were clean and warm Food in bar was tasty and good value for money staff were pleasant and friendly swimming pool was warm, sauna etc was great after a long day. Set in a beautiful landscape breakfast in the restaurant overlooking the valley and the mountains, just beautiful.
absolutely nothing to dislike.
Nice leisure centre, sauna etc. Good food in restaurant, though pricey.
The furniture is quite dated and bathroom really reeds refurbishment. Wifi only worked in the bathroom! Layers of dust on the wardrobe Noisy kids in the expensive restaurant (watching loud movies on their ipads)
Bedrooms where as expected with any hotel of this class. Beds clean and comfortable.
Only 1 socket in the room! Pathetic! TV channels not as listed Hotels uses Breakfast room as Restaurant. Bar food over priced. The kids meal menu was worst then a happy meal. 65 Euro for a meal for 3 without Starters or Desert, No wine and only one Pint. Staff almost make you feel as if you should be grateful for paying their wages. Hotels is extremely dated and although it might claim to be a top hotel the owners obviously have not travelled abroad to check out other hotels. It is most likely they don't care what I write as it seems they have been getting away with treating customers as if it is the only hotel in Ireland and the customer should be grateful for even being let through the doors. I have stayed in 5 start hotels all over Europe and this is by far one of the worst. Hotel is more suited for pensioners of which many. No suited for children at all. Family room which had a double bed a single bed and an army fold up bed was located at the far end of the corridor. Almost as if to say " We don't want families here" No doubt other visitors have rated this hotel high, however I doubt they have stayed in other 5 star hotels. I usually do not leave long reviews, or any at all. However, the way the staff and likely the owners make you feel is an insult to my intelligence Recommend? Only if you are desperate and have more money then sense.
Homely atmosphere . Friendly staff. Wonderful garden and walk.
The staff couldent do enough for us.we loved the view also the kids club was brilliant gave us some mammy and daddy time alone.the kids had a great time it was our lil girls birthday and the staff made it more special for her pool was fab also the hot tub couldent fault the glenview at all kids loved the cat glenvie have been telling there friends all about him we will be back 100% thank you for everything and don't change a thing the staff do a great job esp the girls Megan and lin from the kids club made our kids really happy and welcome xx
Theres noting we dident like everything was perfect for us thanks a million glenview we will be highly recommenden your hotel to friends and family xx
Every thing was great will b back love it
The leisure club and the food. View from restaurant in the morning was great.
We did not get a room with a view of the glen, just a few trees and the room was quite dark.
Swimming pool and leisure centre wonderful, breakfasts great, woodlands restaurant dinner absolutely delicious
The family room was very dated, a camp bed- sheets didn't fit the bed properly(too short)television v outdated, bathroom had damp stains on ceiling, black mould in the grout and the shower curtain stank of damp......wifi very poor in the room
Beautiful location and elegant room and facilities. Great to have an indoor pool on site. Obviously popular with locals using the pool & gym, the restaurants and the wedding facilities.
All 5 hotels I visited this trip had different and somewhat difficult showers. A basic set of instructions would be useful.
The food in the hotels restaurant was beautful and their presentation was just perfect The bar food was nice.
The walks and the views were only fabulous
Food was great, facilities were great, beautifully situated, good staff
Lovely grounds and location, hotel nice, staff very nice and food gorgeous. Bistro bar was a bit disappointing, it's more a breakfast room than somewhere to chill in a bar, though library room was nice. Overall 7.5/10
the views helpful staff comfort facilities
very quiet at evenings need more varieties on restuarant menus
Location of breakfast room was fantastic
Bed was awful, threadbare towels, decor shabby, intermittant shower pressure, breakfast poor quality and not as expected for a 4star hotel. A disappointing stay, we will not be back.
Facility is dated and a bit tired.
Location was good and the food was nice.
Wifi was almost non-existant in the room. Waiter in the bar wanted my room number so I wouldn't 'run off'. He then proceded to tell us that he hated his job and was leaving. Bar had no music, tv or any type of athmosphere. Other guests were banging on doors at 4am which affected sleep.
Easy to find and close to the city of dublin
Meals particularly the breakfast was not excellent. There were no choice of yogurts. There was only one type - the plain yogurt. We were not placed in a nice part of the hotel - it appeared to have no sunlight in it but your staff very kindly changed us to one of your front rooms for the 2nd and 3rd nights of our stay here.
aesthetics, forest walking path, gardens, hot tub, pool, bar, food
Locationnear Dublin but still country
Finding hotel difficult new town mount Kennedy given as address but it is a few miles away. WiFi not great. Elections in forest walk would be helpful.
