The Gresham HotelO'Connell Street, D1 Dublin (Show map) Very good, Score from 669 reviews“Ambience.....quietness...lack of bustle...relaxed...easy.....nice to relax in the bar....great breakfast...comfort”

In central Dublin, the Gresham Hotel rooms overlook O’Connell Street. Spacious rooms have private bathrooms, free Wi-Fi and TVs. The Gresham also has a restaurant and bar. Modern bedrooms all have hair dryers, an ironing service and tea/coffee making facilities. The large superior rooms all feature Italian marble bathrooms and mini-bars. Delicious lunches and light dinners are available at Toddy’s Bar, while The Writer’s Bar is furnished in Italian marble and floor-to-ceiling windows. Breakfasts are served in the Gallery Restaurant. The Gresham has its own gym with treadmills, rowing machines and exercise bikes. The hotel provides discounts for the French Beauty Spa Company which is a 15-minute walk away. The River Liffey, Temple Bar and the shopping districts are a short walk away. Dublin Airport is 6 miles away, the Port 1.5 miles and Connolly train station a 5-minute walk. Hotel Rooms: 288

The hotel is troubled by a noisy environment. If you are unlucky the airconditioning from ascending buildings are at full throttle all night long. The rooms are small and the doors are not sound proof so if other guests walk the corridors it'll wake you. All room equipement works 'a bit', including the bathroom facilities. My conclusion after booking various hotels is that low and mid priced hotels in the inner city are not good value. Stay out of the city center or book the most exclusive around St Stephens Green.

There was a strong smell of urine in the foyer, bar and other public areas. The room was dingy, small and badly needed updating. would not stay there again.

The loacation was ideal staff were friendly ans fairly accomidating In the room I was in, there was a tear in the carpet which I noticed straight away the kettle waz broke as soon as I got in ther but was replaced straight away and wasnt a problem , to be honest I didnt think it was worth the money that id payed. The hallways were dark and dreary. And smelt unpleasant the in hotel bar was very expensive! I wouldnt recommend this hotel and would recommend the wynnes hotel as the food was good there and drink prices not near as much as the greasham hotel..your hotel should not be priced the way it was and people get robbed for it if the standard rooms were made better and the hotel bar prices down u might actully get more traid down there! I dont see how the prices were /ever be justified at the hotel bar and the wynns hotel was 5 euro cheaper when priced!!!!!its redicolous.

The breakfast was very disapointing. Lovely freshly squeesed orange juice but then it went downhill. No fresh fruit - only tinned. We left that because it had started to go fizzy. (off). WE ATE AT 8.00 BUT ALL THE ITEMS OF THE COOKED BREAKFAST WERE DRY AND HARD AND APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN COOKED SEVERAL HOURS BEFORE..I would have complained but we had a taxi booked at 8,30 to take us to Sligo for a family funeral. I really think you could do better.

Location Had booked a 'delux' room - room we got was by no means 'delux' Service at breakfast was very poor - had to ask for juice, tea/coffee - even when requested these took a long time coming. At bufet there were many items missing (we were there early) and had to wait for these. Very disappointed with stay.

Location I was surprised at how dated the rooms where, I thought it would have been much more luxurious. I was disapointed, it did not seem like a 4 star hotel.

Very little I arrived early and was told, after check-in, after paying in advance with a debit card(why?), that I couldn't access my room until after the official 'check in time' of 3pm. Later that evening when I did get to my room, I was disappointed to find no 'tea-making' facilities. I had to go out to a local shop to buy a cup of tea, rather than pay the extortionate rates in the hotel. If I payed a €20 surcharge I could get breakfast the following morning - if I paid at the table it would cost €19.50. Either way it was way too expensive for breakfast. The TV in the room was a small screen which made it uncomfortable to watch from the bed. The remote control didn't work. Before getting to proper TV i had to go through a menu offering overcharged films, adult movies (classy?) etc. This used to be one of Dublin's top hotels - it's now reduced to surcharging normal services at an extortionate rate and offering seedy films.

We found the hotel to be in the perfect location for a city break. Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere made our two day stay very enjoyable. The room we stayed in was spacious and very clean, plus the bed was very comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to anybody on a trip to the city, and would certainly stay there again myself.

I find it difficult to say anything positive about this hotel, other than location. Our room (330) was so small it could easily be confused for a cupboard. The window (on the outside) was so dirty, that clearly it had not been cleaned for a number of years. The beds were circa 1960 and are grossly overdue for replacement. Small things like the window catches in the bathroom were broken, the shower rail, although functional, was loose and I was afraid to pull too hard in case it fell down and it is only a matter of time before a guest walks into a glass shelf in the bathroom (causing severe injury), which is fixed at eye level adjecent to the door. The waiter service in the lounge was dreadfull, almost non-existant. If you wanted a drink, you had to go to the bar yourself. The hotel is very dated and well overdue for refurbishment. A 4 star hotel? I think not.

The central location. The wonderful afternoon tea in the hotel bar This hotel does not have a four stars category:the lobby smells like a fish and chips, the furniture is in need of repair, the air conditioned didn't work in one of the rooms we stayed and in the other made an awful noise...We had to change of room twice. The price we paid was for a four star hotel, we experienced a very bad three star hotel.

Excellent location and facillities. Beautiful foyer and lovely bedroom, very pleased with my choice of hotel. The sink in the bathroom appeared slightly blocked as the water didn't rinse away instantly. Otherwise no complaints.

The location was excellent - near to everything. The lobby is beautiful and bar staff were very helpful and efficient. The beautiful lobby gives the impression of a high quality hotel but the quality of my room was very disappointing. My friend who had booked another room in the hotel also found the standard to be poor. The rooms were very small and the beds uncomfortable. It was noisy during the night, so much so I thought someone was entering my room several times during the night. The tv was too high on the wall so from the bed it was difficult to see the picture correctly. I did not have a good view from the room which was understandable given that the room was not expensive however the windows were extremely dirty. The room itself was reasonably clean. The staff member we encountered at the front desk was snooty.

Very well located. No noise in the bedrooms which I was surprised at given the location. Nice lobby and seating. On two occasions during my two night stay the keys to the bedroom failed to work which meant I had to go back to reception to have them validated. This was a nuisance!! Cobwebs from the ceiling in the bedroom. Bar is very expensive. No complimentary newspapers which is common in most hotels now. No fridge in the bedroom.

Upscale lobby, high tea, nice carpeting in lobby social area. Classic atmosphere. Service at Toddy's (restauarant connected to the hotel) our first night in Dublin was terrible. Food very good, but 45 minutes to even place an order. I had to go to the bar to get a drink. They were busy when we entered, not busy when we left. Still had to wait for the bill. Saw two separate customers dispute their final tab. Check your tab. Quickly corrected, but slow service.

It was close to Croke Park and in the city centre. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The price was escalated extremely high for a 1 night stay due to Take That being on at Croke Park.

I liked the idea of staying at the Gresham because of its reputation. I also liked the fact that it wasn't far from everything going on. The reception areas was very nice as was the whole bottom floor. My room was definately not in my opinion a four star hotel room. More like a three star room but with a four star price tag.

Stayed at the Gresham with my cousin, and both our mums. It was our first visit to Dublin and the Gresham was perfectly situated to see all the sights, shops and nightlife that Dublin has to offer. The building is very Grand from the outside and was not disappointed once inside. The Bar and Lounge area has lots of comfy to sofas to sit on and relax after long day walking around. The buffet breakfast was brilliant with lots of choice. Would not hesitate recommending this hotel to anyone. We had a fabulous time.

The location; filtered coffee, tea and scones That Breakfast wasn't included and could've been much better in comparison to other hotels. We were lucky on this occasion to get a bright room - the rooms are in need of a bit of modernisation.

Perfect location on O'Connell Street First room was not up to standard but were moved to a room overlooking O'Connell Street. Unfortunate incident when a pair of pyjamas went missing when our room was being cleaned. We think they had been bundled up with the sheets and sent to the laundry. Hotel allowed us to stay in hotel until 5pm on day of checkout as compensation.
