Great facility ,well appointed and clean apartment next door to one of the best bars and restaurants in the west of ireland
Size of the apartment
Two sets of steps up to the apartment, location of the apartments at the back of the building, exposed front entrance, glass door not great security or reassurance to leave valuables ( including the children) in the apartment
Good space in apartments
Only negative is that there was loud live music below our apartment (1) which lasted till midnight every night. Our children were small enough that it didn't stop them from sleeping but the adults did struggled to get to sleep before midnight
I'd say the best bar/restaurant food in the country.
WiFi strength patchey
The location was beuatiful, a second to none view of Clew Bay. The staff and owners were very friendly and accommodating. The apartment was very comfortable and secure, and the welcome package left for us (with wine) was very welcoming!! The breakfasts & meals in the Helm bar attached to the apartments were great. I'd definitely stay here again anytime i visited Mayo.
Nothing, it was all lovely.
Very larg 3½ room appartement. 10-15 minute walk from Westport. Good breakfast included. Complete kitchen appliances perfect for a long stay. Owner sees to the satisfaction of his clients and staff friendly.
A bit too spacy for a couple. No ambiance. Bathroom needs some refreshing.
Quiet space suited to our activities for the weekend. Easy to access, beautiful view, plenty of restaurants within a 5 minute walk, within easy reach of the town centre.
The taps in the sink in the bathroom need adjusting, just a minor problem.
Location , staff , service , food , price
Loud music if I was staying longer , but ok for one night . Telly channels poor .
spacious comfortable accomodation views food
Welcome pack was a pleasant surprise and much appreciated. Spacious accommodation. Located on edge of town near Westport House which was ideal. Good kitchen facilities.
Music in the bar downstairs went on past midnight. No curtains on the ceiling windows which would have helped kids sleep easier. TV had 4 channels, 1 of which was B&W and another had no picture only sound. TV was quite small.
Facilities, Accommodation , location excellent & great value for money
Smell when we arrived on landing. Door on first floor seemed to be open through night. TV was poor- (Not there to see TV- in bad weather could be necessary)
We booked a three bedroom apartment in this B&B. Stayed for three nights in Sept. Nice location right outside of the main town, close to the Westport house and right near water. Lots of parking available! Breakfast was ideal and they catered to our children with making eggs scrambled and fried instead of just poached. Had dinner on the first night in the restaurant, which was excellent. The 2nd floor bedrooms were much quieter and darker. The bathroom was inside the bedroom making it so that the others staying with us had to come through our room to use the bathroom. The wifi was free, a huge plus!! Overall, I would recommend this to people who are not looking for luxury, but want a good, reasonable place to stay with apartment amenities. The big bonus was the wine and bread - that was really appreciated!
The apartment had 2 floors - the first floor had the bedroom in the back and unfortunately it needed room darkening curtains as the light from outside flooded the room and the music from the bar was rather loud. exterior shutters would go far in helping to make the room - darker/quieter.
Location is excellent; The Quay has had a make over and the coffee shops and pubs are great. Had lovely meal in The Helm and The Tower. Spend lovely day in Westport House which is walking distance. Having use of the Hotels Swimming pool is wonderful. Great views and private parking.
Kitchen and Bathroom need a make over. Sitting room furniture very uncomfortable. TV very old. But the price reflects this.
Nice having an upstairs and downstairs. Nice having two rooms! didn't use the kitchen facilities. GREAT breakfast 1/2 block away at the pub!
It was adequately clean but not impeccably. Not much else to say!
How quiet and peaceful the location of the Apartment was.
Kids were disappointed as they're were no TV channels for them i.e RTE Junior. Towels were not changed whilst we were there for a 3 day period
Location - Clew Bay/Croagh Patrick. Breakfast
Mattresses with springs coming through. Lack of basic cleaning/kitchen equipment. Poor quality flooring. Badly furnished. Expensive for what you get
The Helm staff were very friendly and nice people.
The apartment we were allocated was not suitable for young children. No elevator so we had to carry prams and babies up what felt like 100 stairs. Apartment was more suited to a stag party as the one shower didn't work, door lock in toilet was kicked open so did not lock, the shower that did work had a broken bracket so had to hold shower head with one hand and clean with the other. The apartment was cleaned to the best of the cleaners ability but the truth was that money should have been spent on this apartment to tidy it up and make it look respectable. The price of it was expense enough. Then at night, the music from the Helm pub which was two levels below us kept us awake till near 1am which is terrible when kids are trying to sleep. Apparently there are another block of apartments which the Helm own and are situated on their own with no noise and have an elevator but you have to request them when booking!!! Where does it state this on the website??? Surely when i booked for 2 adults and 3 children and requested two travel cots, someone should have used their initiative and allocated the quieter apartments to me???
The food in the pub and friendly staff. Good location on the harbour.
The walk up to the apartment on metal stairs (2 flights). The apartments are from the 1980's , old fashioned key access. There was no shower curtain on the "master" bedroom shower . Small shower tray that would have flooded. I told the manager when we went down to eat and he said "he would have someone look at it in the morning". Too late we checked out by 10 without showering and when I said it at checkout it was brushed off with a comment of "oh that room mustn't have the wet room shower in yet". No discount or apology!
Staff were friendly and accommodating. Location was good.
Musty smell in appartments. Poor quality curtains. Poor quality mattresses. Hear noise and voices from appartments next door and above.
Food excellent , need to book early for dinner though
Windows low to the road
We were located in the Cinnamon Wharf Appartments and really liked the location of these, had a beautiful veiw of Clew Bay. The Helm Bar and Restaurant is at the top of the list for an evening meal, we ate there two out of our three nights. Fantastic value and delicious! No wonder it was packed every evening! Also the hospitality pack of wheaten bread, milk etc. was a lovely touch!
The television in the appartment didn't have a variety of channels, four I think! Unless there was something we weren't doing correctly! However we spent most of our time out so really it wasn't an issue.
Windows very dirty.
Great to have a two bedroom apartment and living room. Quiet and comfortable. Lovely view from apt 19. Breakfasts and dinners at The Helm were delicious and staff were very nice and attentive.
We really enjoyed our stay, my only complaint was the noise from the apt above. Soundproofing was the great. I contacted the Manager who responded very quickly and rectified this matter.
