Great check in staff. Superb location.
Good location. Friendly staff. Very basic room fairly clean.
Had difficulty sleeping due to thin walls and very strange noises coming day and night from neighbouring room. Shared shower was dirty and moldy. Bed was uncomfortable (spring mattress) although staff was great.
Rude staff Dirty bathroom Almost no running shower Stupid price system
Strange smell and no pressure in the shower on the 2nd floor.
Near the O'Connel Street
Room was very cold
Clean room, comfort bed, Celt pub and Oshea's restaurant near by, Conolly Dart Station just few steps away, shopping center just around the corner, no problem with quick check-in and check-out. Great base to exploration the City. ;)
Smelly shower (!), no tea or coffee in hostel, no kitchen for guests.
The bed was good
Staff were not happy helpful and made you feel like you were a hindrance. Rooms were tiny and no breakfast was provided. For the price there are allot of better options in the area.
Convenient location to Connolly station.
Sparcely furnished. No seats or table in bedroom
Easy to find, a lot of good pubs in the neighborhood, there are shops nearby.
The room wasn't really big, no bathroom in the room.
Shane was very helpful.
I came home on Tuesday covered in flea bites so I'm not impressed at all.
Close to Dublin town center Possibility for late booking, only 5 € extra Bedrooms and hall are clean
Tiny Bedrooms 2 bathrooms for 14 Rooms! Lack of pressure, humidity and moisture in showers
Location,Wi-Fi, staff and clean bed is definately for plus
Smell in the shower was a big MINUS
It was noise free permises inspite of a busylocation. Easy access to all facilities.
Very close to Centre of city. Interesting old building. Friendly staff.
Room very small. Even though it's called "bed&breakfast" there is no breakfast served.
Kitchen was good though it made the place feel like a hostel. Odd atmosphere. Photos aren't like the place. Don't expect much and it'll be alright. Place needs improving, physically and on other levels too.
Boys running the whole place without a clue. One morning one of them told us we were meant to check out and kept banging on our door telling us they needed to clean the room. It wasn't until I requested to speak to the manager on the phone that he apologized when he realized his mistake (still had two nights left) and left. Felt unprivate and disrespectful.
No wifi. Very very uncomfortable bed. Dirty mouldly sad excuse for a shower.
Location close to the city center Wifi
Shower not so clean Room tiny and not clean
Late at night, very tired, when I laid on the bed I felt it was wet! It smelled like beer or piss. There was no one responsible in the hostel at that hour. I covered the bed with the towel and tried to sleep. In the morning I left a note asking for clean sheets, matress, etc or another room. They simply changed the sheets. Since the matress was wet as well, you can imagine that changing the sheets was useless.
Shower had no hot water and a trickle of a flow - more like a low pressure tap. There were 2 showers for the entire hostel (10+ rooms) and as far as I was told by the manager only one could be used at a time as otherwise no water flowed in the other. Moreover, the shower was up two flights of stairs with insufficient space to change in the cubicle, meaning walking on the stairs past the glass front door wearing a towel. Showers were also mouldy & dirty (used plasters in the plugholes etc). Offered tea and coffee in the entrance foyer, but with no provision of milk or mugs, or convenient way of filling the kettle. It would also have been good if there was some means of preparing food, even if just a microwave/toaster given that the Holyhead labels itself as a hostel (the 'bed and breakfast' sign on the building is misleading as breakfast is not provided). Uncomfortable bed with only a single thin pillow each. Our room had a water pipe running through it next to the bed which hummed constantly, making getting to sleep very hard.
The bed was good, and that was the main thing. There was no kitchen, but at least you could boil some water. Luca in the personnel was very nice.
There was no furniture in the room, apart from the bed and something that looked like a stand for a flower pot! Th e water pressure in the shower was only enough for a trickle and the walls were mouldy. There was no place to meet other guests, apart from the sofas on the landings, where you wouldn't sit down with anybody else than somebody you already know.
I didn't know where it comes from... but I could feel the cigarette smell whole time -
Location, close to centre, close to Temple Bar district. Nearby busstops and nice bars and restaurants. Friendly staff. You get your own key to the hostel.
Curtains were broken so could not close, smell in the shower.
Cleanliness: shower had bad drain smells Poor facilities: Hard to make tea coffee etc No breakfast although advertised as a B&B 1small shower and 1toilet for 5 rooms some were 4 person Cramped conditions
Location. Also, the staff members are friendly people. free wifi
The bathrooms are dirty, the room smells like mold and they are super dusty.
There was a bed...just about.
A tiny single bed in a grim room...with no private bathroom. Poorly kept, with paint peeling everywhere and dirt and grimy corners. Shower had little power, and no hot water late when I checked in late afternoon. My main complaint is that despite this terrible standard, it wasn't even cheap. If they charged 30 Euros, then maybe. But for the price (84 Euros), it was the worst value accommodation of my 34 years on this planet. A private room in a hostel would have been an infinitely better option. Cheaper, cleaner, nicer, and probably with a functioning shower, rather than a cold dribble.
