As we always stay here on our way from the east coast to the west coast, we recommend it highly.
Availability of a "dog" room.

Good quick efficient service. Very good sized rooms, Breakfast very good. Very clean and staff super.
When arrived more than 1 party was under way, reception was quite crowded even though it was a good size.
Easy to find, comfortable and well appointed.
Room too warm
Really friendly and helpful staff. Spacious rooms.
The menu is excellent, with very generous portions at a reasonable price. The accommodation is spacious, well appointed and very clean. The hotel is also a perfect base for travel within the South East of Ireland.
All staff were so nice and helpful as we had our son with special needs with us Food was excellent
Nothing not to like
service was excellent. Food very good
Staff were attentive polite and showed a genuine concern for your comfort
Excellent ambiance and excellent service which was efficient, friendly and observant e.g. During breakfast I removed tea bags from my first pot of tea, because I like my tea weak-when I had finished my first pot of tea I requested a second pot - the staff brought me out a new pot of tea (weak tea) minus the tea bags. I loved their attention to detail - I haven't met this attention to detail in any of my travels - it was top class. A big thank you to the staff.
Staff very friendly. Food good value. Service is fast.
No air con - was very hot the night we stayed.
Staff were all polite, friendly and professional. Food was excellent on both occassions that we stayed here. Rooms very comfortable.
Room was too hot at night and poor ventilation. Bathroom was far too warm although probably wonderful in winter.
Big room, bath, restaurant on site
Noisy hounds next door
Stayed for a couple of nights on business in the local area, room was large and clean, staff very friendly and food good, happy to recomend the Horse and Hound.
The location may be a bit isolated depending on what you are looking for.
Hotel is 15minutes drive from Horetown House so ideal to stay in if attending a wedding there. The breakfast was really good.
Was given a key to a room that was not made up. As I was stuck for time I had to get changed in the room. We stayed there to attend a local wedding and this should have been obvious to the people on reception. We were not informed that you needed a key to the outside door to get back into the hotel at night since there was no night porter. We would have been locked out had we not shared a taxi back with other guests. This also happened to other guests who we ended up letting in.
The room we had was very specious,
being on the ground floor, had to keep the curtains drawn, and a little noisy from the tradesmen/staff
