The House Hotel  

Our hotel room was excellent, the waiting staff were first class and the barman (John?) was among the best young barmen we have encountered. He had a very good knowledge of whiskey. The hotel scores very highly for its breakfast which was as good as it gets in an Irish hotel. It is conveniently located in the heart of Galway which was an added bonus. WE would certainly look forward to a return visit.

There was a lack of attention to detail, a chipped cereal bowl, flimsy tea-spoons and a toast-rack with mising feet. The kind of thing one doen't expect in a high class hotel but these were relatively minor quibbles in what was, overall, an excellent hotel experience.

Good location

Our room wasn't ready until 3.25pm, when asked for compensation, we were told that 3.25pm was still a reasonable time. A paid drink at the bar would do the job... Furthermore, even the 3.00pm is an unusually late check-in time, in my view.

The Friendly staff were so accommodating and offered us a complimentary upgrade to a superior room.The fashionable up to date colorful decor was so inviting and relaxing. The room was a good size with lovely colors and a nice modern bathroom. The location is ideal with all the fun bars and restaurant and shops nearby...literally a few steps away. The hotel has a B&B vibe, which is nice. The staff were friendly and were quick to respond when we told them our phone wasn't working. And they took care of arranging for our tour bus to pick us up at the hotel on the way to the bus station. The hotel is also nicely located at the end of the main street of shops and restaurants/pubs, but was just far enough away from the bus station to make it a longer walk than expected with rolling suitcases. The decor is bright and makes for a nice atmosphere.

Service at the bar on a Saturday night was less than ideal. It may not have been true, but it felt like they were avoiding the Americans with the swipe credit card.

We wanted to celebrate a birthday by having dinner in the city overnight and not having to drive back to Moycullen. from that point of view the location ad standard of the hotel was excellent

The price in these hard times was rather high for what is offered.

The hotel has a funky design with interesting odd bits in every corner .Very different from the usual no personality no character square concrete box type of hotel -different city same decor ! It was very cosy and welcoming and the staff were very pleasant.

Terrific hotel. Incredibly funky and quirky and modern. We were upgraded to a Suite on arrival due to over booking which was a fabulous treat! Brilliant value for money and staff were extremely helpful! Will definitely return!

The overall feel of the hotel was very hip but still friendly. It had a great location for exploring Galway and the environs. The bed in our deluxe room was very comfortable.

Our room's bathroom was extremely cold (we were there in Febuary) which made the lovely tile floor almost unbearable to walk on. Also, there was no shower curtain, just a glass partition, and because the partition was not affixed to the top of the tub, when one would shower, water would just cascade onto the floor making quite a puddle.

The breakfast was fantastic. Service was great. The design of the hotel was really original. Prices of food and drink were very competitive for such a central hotel. WIll definately stay again!

I liked the value for money and the location. The hotel itself was beautiful.

The noise sat night from Band Thought drinks at minibar should have been given free to compensate
