The location was only 5-10 minutes walk from Eyre Square, the lady running it was very nice and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable.
The breakfast was a basic continental, very little choice.
Frances was very helpful and friendly. The location was walking distance to Eyre Sq.
Breakfast was disappointing - cold cereal and some pastries. There was not a sitting area for guests - just the rooms and the breakfast area
Closeness to city centre. Very comfortable mattress. Off street parking. Small table and two chairs in double room so can read or play cards comfortably.
No shelving for toiletries in bathroom. Silly sheet under duvet was too small to do any good except be annoying. Breakfast area not very welcoming or user friendly, eg. Spare chairs tucked under shelf used for bread and toaster so hard to reach toaster and empty milk jug on table because guest has to fill themselves from main jug at cereal table!
Located at walking distance from the city centre. Nice view from the lake side view rooms
Not a very good range of breakfast served. Stated to be self service but somewhat like self catering! Same breakfast served with no change for 3 days non-stop!
I like the homely feel, not like a hotel. Great location. Off street parking. Clean and cosy. Really nice place to stay.
Front rooms have some street noise so for light sleepers, ask for a back room.
location, beautiful view, friendly and helpful hostess, the bed
Had to ask for hot water at 5 pm to get a shower...was told it came on at 6pm but they did turn it on for us when asked. No hot breakfast....cold plate was made previous night. Limited parking and extremely tight parking spots.wouldn't stay here again as not great value for money
It was very clean, the owner was very nice, and the scones were superb!! If we come back to the Galway area, we would stay here.
The stairs were steep and the parking was tight, but it was still a wonderful place.
Good value friendly staff well located and on the river
THE CHAMBERMAID WAS EXCELLENT
Breakfast Rooms Staff Location
No Hot Water All the doors in the house bang at night when it's windy, would be difficult to sleep if you're a light sleeper.
Location and staff
Small parking space
- Clean - Friendly staff - Well Situated - Comfortable
- Not enough parking spaces - A bit pricey for what it was but Galway was busy that weekend
the duvet cover had make up marks, obviously has not been changed. Although, the extra sheet under the duvet was fresh
Our wonderful host made us feel so welcome, with so many great tips and full of genuine advise of what to do and see,and she was just so kind to us.Location is awesome!because we were on our honeymoon she gave us a room that would have otherwise been u available...she is a lovely lady with a great B and B
The breakfast was continental, and my parents like porridge, it was processed slices of cheese, sweaty ham rolls, lettuce and tomato that had wilted. The pastries were old and stale, and no cooked breakfast. We did not get the rooms we specifically asked for. For 80 euros a night in some places in galway we could have had dinner and cooked breakfast included so it was dreadful value for money. There were two beds in our room and the view of a concrete wall. The bath mat was ancient and after standing on it I had to wash my feet again as they were sticking to the floor, and generally dusty. There is no communal area, and the welcome was poor. It was a nightmare to park as the car park can only accommodate three cars. I felt a bit sorry for the people there as they were minding the place for the owners. It seems the owners want maximum cash for very little service or effort. I'd avoid this place as you could find much better for less money. Very disappointing, especially as it was supposed to be a present for my parents anniversary.
Great location, friendly & caring staff, very pleasant stay
Limited & tight parking
a very pleasant quiet room at the back so we were not disturbed by the busy road outside. Very nice breakfast with freshly made scones.
handy stop while touring but not so struck on Galway town itself. left us 3 coffee sachets,1 teabag and 2 milks for 2 nights.
It's not a long walk into Galway city. Room and bed were satisfactory.
No cooked breakfast, no real service. Nothing "wrong" with this B&B, but just poor value for money when you consider there's cheaper B&Bs offering the same, and hotels offering more for only slightly higher rates.
Location close to City and Sportsground
Disappointing Very steep narrow walkway up to front door, unable to check in until 16.00. having to be out by 11.00 in the morning, Continental Breakfast only, very small bathroom, no toiletries and having to pay in cash despite this Booking.com site showing cards were accepted, all make the Light House overpriced for what you receive especially as there are numerous other establishments, both B&B and small hotels near by which offer for example Full Irish breakfast for the same price.
The rooms were clean and very spacious. There were coffee/tea making facilities in the room. The location was good if you don't mind taking a taxi to downtown. However had we not had our children with us, we would have enjoyed a walk into town along the river. The price couldn't be beat for what you get.
They only had instant coffee for breakfast.
Lovely owner Very handy walk to town
Car park space is very tight Ancient furniture in the bedroom Continental breakfast, make your own tea. Pretty poor breakfast
Location -- it's about 5-10 minutes from the busy city center, yet quiet for a good night sleep if you arrive late or need to leave early. The owner was very helpful in recommending good places to go and sights to see.
There was no wifi in the rooms (only in common area downstairs), and the owner only accepted cash payments.
Very nice lady owns the B&B, and the welcome was very warm. The room was comfortable and tea/coffee was provided in the room. It's a 5 minute walk from the main square and our stay was very pleasant.
The B&B is on a main road and cars where driving past at high speed well into the night and as it was summer, out window was open and our sleep was broken a few times by screeching brakes (although I guess the fact it was the last night of the Galway Races may account for this). This was the only criticism, and obviously not the fault of the B&B.
Breakfast was awful; price charged was more than quoted on booking.com, towels weren't changed.
