In the heart of the Georgian city of Dublin, this 3-star guesthouse features traditional dècor and furnishings. It was built in the 18th century, and was once part of the Earl of Clonmel’s estate.

Lovely room, very handy location in the city
The generator noise that continued all night
Liked the location, as it was close to areas we wanted to see. It was a secure building close to transit facilities. The staff stayed there until 1:15 AM, as we arrived late by plane. The restaurant below kept our luggage the day of departure, so we could sightsee until 4 pm.. They were very helpful. Get the breakfast in the morning at the restaurant.
The traffic noise was a little loud in the morning.
Good location, nice people, joyful bar.
Noisy night because of the bar, however nice music :)
Friendly and helpful staff. Close to city centre.
Leaky toilet WiFi not working
Bright clean room, nice bathroom, great shower, comfortable beds. Although this establishment is "rooms over a bar" there was no bar noise. Everything we wanted was an easy walk away.
Wifi was not good
The floor is not carpet, yay! Nice location and very cosy room. Bathroom is so big, I loved it!
Internet connection is very bad :( no wifi signal in the 2nd floor. Can be a bit noisy. Double windows could help. The bathroom was not clean every day.
- great location
- the wi-fi was very poor, the connection was breaking very often - the room wasn't very clean
- The location is good; most major sightseeing destinations are within walking distance. - It was reasonably quiet; only on Saturday night there was some noise from the bar. - Everything was clean. - The bed was very comfortable. - The shower was good with excellent water pressure (not the standard in Great Britain). - There was good breakfast available in the bar/restaurant for reasonable prices (7 to 10 Euro), although only from 10 a. m. on Sundays (too late for us).
- There was no table or chair in the room - no problem for us, as we were only there for sightseeing. - The wireless did not work. We had to do to places in the city to get internet access. - The room was not exactly cheap - about 114 Euro per night (double room), not including breakfast. But Dublin in general was/is not cheap, so it might be difficult to get much better bargains.
Location was good
It was pricey for what you got. A little dirty and you don't have access to a front desk, just a bartender and the bar needs to be open.
No parking .Advertised as a hotel but is not a hotel as such .location .
Very comfortable and within walking distance of nearly everything in Central Dublin. Pub food was great!
You will walk to Grafton St if you want breakfast before 8:30.
A short walk across the bridge over the river from Airport Express bus. Great location for the Start of the half marathon as well Trinity área. I was on the second floor, not noisy.
There is basically no working wifi on the second floor- you have To go To pub downstairs To use it. Many cafés in Dublin have free wifi To use- but it is annoying not having it in Your Room.
a room of three was a shoebox, not a room, it was filthy (dustclouds and dirty linen and filthy bathroom....), the generator from the cooling-system of the enclosed pub ran all night - just like the toilet, friendly complaints were not just ignored but also turned down; nobody ever asked how everything was (apart from the chamber maid) and the amount was taken of my account before the stay!!!!
waited more than 2 hours for the room to be ready because the manager that was supposed to be there, was not, so there was nobody to book us in.
Clean, comfy, central.
Windows open right from the ground with no protection, dangerous for a child
The staff was friendly, we were able to get in before check in time, and food was good! The room was clean and very good quality linens. Close to Trinity college, downtown and easy walk to many tourist destnations., St. Patrick's, Guiness Storehouse, shopping, etc.
If you can get a room facing the street instead of the outside bar area it is quieter.
Good location close to Trinity College and city centre, decently renovated rooms with good beds and bathroom.
Non-existent service, extremely noisy in weekends when parties are held in the pub downstairs (till 1 am!), expensive for room without breakfast or service.
Pub check-in worked just fine. She was cheerful and informative. Excellent location, convenient to Trinity, Grafton and night-life along the quay.
Great location, lovely food, and friendly staff
Room was clean and the beds were comfortable.
The hotel is over a pub. We stayed on a Thursday night and it was quite noisy until about 8:00. Our main complaint is there is no air conditioning and the windows were all lock up, so it was very warm with no fresh air all night.
Price compared to excellent nearby hotels Abrupt manner of staff Cigarette butts on window sill Bad smell in shower Toilet seat falling off Dirty corners in bathroom Sickly smelling air freshener used to mask cigarette and other odours Felt 'ripped off'
The Lombard offered our family exactly what we wanted: an economical way to enjoy Dublin and it's people and feel as much as possible what it was like to be a local. We were not looking for a prestine luxury bubble-type vacation. We were a block away from a train station and a bank, across the street from Trinity College, and walking distance or a short bus or taxi ride to everything else. We are not seasoned travelers, yet felt the Lombard staff and management so informative and helpful that we had any assistance needed to get where we wanted to go. Martin, Sarah, Gabriela and the rest of the staff were especially helpful. I can, without reservation, recommend the Lombard to any first time visitor to Dublin. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
The Lombard Townhouses are exactly what they advertise they are: townhouses above a pub. With that one must understand that some nights are quiet and some are not. We were there during the World Cup. Even with the most rambunctuous of patrons, we were always able to sleep and felt safe. The only recommendation I gave upon our departure was for more hooks in the bathroom. Additionally, the wi-fi signal was a bit precarious upstairs in the room, but just fine down in the pub.
Staff were very friendly any helpful
staff were lovely, food in the bar was really nice, staff were helpful, rooms are modern. good value
there was no hot water at all, I had a cold shower both days. also there was a couple of stains on the fitted sheet.
Poor wifi !!!!
