The staff were friendly and helpful, felt they tried that bit extra. The linen was fresh and the room attended to each day. The vibe was simple, no extravagence here, as you would realise due to the price, however, cleanliness and comfort was not compromised. The walk into town was quite doable for two not so young but young at heart ladies! The bus was only a few minutes walk away as were shops where you could purchase every-day needs. We enjoyed our stay.
Free parking, Cost, Location, Friendly staff
friendly reception-people, specially the nice lady who gave us another room, cause the room we got first was a twin room and we wanted a double. first room was poor and with one window to the rubbish bin. but the next room we got was very nice and with a window to the street, and this room had nice colours, nice bed, good heating, was clean - perfect and thanks to the nice lady!
neighbours.... when the neighbours are loud, u hear everything... and sadly we had those loud neighbours for two nights, we had to knock on the wall... they were loud talking till midnight, and next day starting at 6.30... the area is nice, nice houses and shops next... but one night there was a group on the street at night they were damaging the side-mirrors from the cars and shouting.. but this u can have everywhere and is not the response of the hotel
The food and staff were both incredible. Very friendly and informative always. The rooms were a great price, and the food was also very reasonably priced.
We expected it to be a little closer to downtown, but it was an easy walk, maybe 15 mins, with lots of pubs to stop in at on the walk. A taxi was less than 10euros when we didn't want to walk, so very reasonable.
The character of the place, the food and the staff
The lights blowing in the bathroom
Staff were nice and offered free breakfast after experiencing freezing shower
Reception guy at night was obviously new and couldn't solve anything. Also did not call me back after I made a complain.
Liked everything about the place. Food was excellent and the prices reasonable.
location, friendliness and helpfulness of staff, good value for money, ideal for shopping trips to Dublin
cold of the room bed felt damp shower very small dated tired old hotel/place ,
Room was very cold
Excellent Staff. I was well looked after even though it was a very busy weekend. Third time staying here, and I will use it again.
Compact, clean and comfortable venue with helpful staff.
Location Bar Staff
The location is perfect for single persons travelling or families as it is quite and away from the busy streets. Close to Glasnevin Cemetery, Croke Park. . . The staff your friendly and polite
Have stayed her many times and will do so on any further trips to Dublin. Staff excellent, friendly and helpful in every way possible. We had a mix up with our reservation which was entirely our fault, it was sorted in a most accommodating manner which I am sure would not have been the case in another hotel.
no hot water in shower
Staff were very friendly and helpful Short walking distance to Croke Park Free Wi-Fi in rooms Comfortable, cosy room
Bathroom and shower was very cramped TV in my room seemed to only have one working channel Music in the bar til very late on Saturday night
The staff were more than helpful Anything from a morning paper, taxi or advice on where to go, they told you recommendations on your individual taste
The rest of the hotel was highly maintained and in great condition, my room wasn't the same high standard
the staff was nice, the location is not bad if you walk a few minutes from the bus. clean and OK in general.
no heat, tho it was very cold at the end of November. the bed is too short (1.8 m)
The bathroom small bedroom and room TV
There was party downstairs until 1am and none in the hotel could fall asleep. Apart from that, the rest was ok.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Maples. Staff great. Food Great. Atmosphere homely. Just booked another stay there this coming weekend.
great service and helpful staff
Beautiful old building.
1. Hotel is located far from the center. It's hard to get to this hotel by bus: you must cross the bridge with many stairs, it's hard to do it with a suitcase. 2. Soundproofing in this hotel is very bad. You hear everything, that is happening in the whole building. 3. In our room toilet was broken: every 10 seconds the water were going down with terrible noise. 4. One evening there was cold water in the shower. 5. View from the window was terrible: old abandoned roof. 6. There was something like an italian family party with loud music on the ground floor till 1 a.m.
Everything was good except parking
Parking was a big problem
