The Merchant House8 Eustace Street, Temple Bar, D2 Dublin (Show map) Wonderful, Score from 71 reviews“It is superb and comfortable. Sound proof glass really works and we felt very safe at night. Our Suite was excellent, attention to detail was great and the staff were so helpful. I loved the all-day breakfast and other little touches . We absolutely loved this suite. It was only one night in a week of staying in the spare rooms of friends and families and was a real luxurious treat. All the furnishings are classy and expensive and you spend the whole time admiring the lighting and lovely touches. At just over £100 it's good value for money and I think maybe a bit cheaper because it is a suite and not a hotel - but you don't miss the hotel facilities because you are in the heart of Temple Bar with bars and restaurants all around you and we did raid the mini bar for a night cap when we get back. I will recommend it to all my friends - a real treat

Brilliant room, very comfortable and luxurious! Great staff and facilities. We would definately stay here again and recommend it to friends. It's located in temple bar. The room wasn't noisy due to the soundproofing but returning to the hotel at night was 'interesting' due to the bar across the street. However, we didn't have any trouble from any of the bar's customers.

Liked it's convenient location, booking in was efficient and it had a lovely bathroom. Room was terribly small with very limited daylight. There was one window of opaque glass bricks, and two roof windows but these were covered by blinds. As a result the space was claustrophobic and stuffy. There was another door but it was locked so not sure what was behind it! Parking locally cost €25 for period from 4 pm to 9am which I thought expensive. Breakfast in local coffee shop was basic and average. I do not think this accomodation merits description of 'luxury' or 'suites'.

The Oscar Wilde suite was fantastic. The young girl working was chirpy and very friendly My only downside was my girlfriend had her iphone stolen from out of her hand while we were walking back to the hotel and maybe just other guests should be advised to be vigilant while walking through the area at night

It was located in a great location but it was also luxury and lovely and clean. Breakfast the following day in the cafe was lovely also. It was a little noisy. We were staying in the James Joyce suite which was at the front where the noise from the night club. We will defenitely stay there again and the nice girl recommended that we ask for the Oscar Wilde suite.

The entire experience was great. I had an overnight Atlantic crossing and then straight to a full days work so was so happy to notice that a brand new top of the range bed had been installed since my last visit in December. This was accompanied by all new soft furnishings - more cushions and throws than a department store. The place is newly decorated (even though it was decorated just last year) and lots of new extra touches such as hand mirrors in the bathroom and complimentary chocolate in the (never to be used) ash/chocotrays. Shame I only stayed 10 hours. A place to relax and luxuriate in Nothing at all - not even the fact that it is right in the heart of Temple bar Tourist trap - late night bars and clubs all over the place. The secondary glazing and the new free earplugs means even at chucking out time 2am, the revellers didn't disturb me

The room was absolutely beautiful, spacious, nicely styled, great bathroom, and all in an excellent location in Temple Bar. Stayed in the Oscar Wilde suite, which was on the top floor, so it had very high ceilings, and the sound proof windows offered the best chance of quiet in a very noisy neighbourhood. I would highly recommend this place for any traveller.

My son and a friend stayed at the Merchant House for a long weekend. He was very impressed with his accommodations. He said, "This is the nicest place I've ever stayed." He liked the central location and reported getting a good night's sleep even in the very lively Temple Bar.

I was slightly dubious about staying somewhere which required you to pre book your check in time as I thought it might be a hassle. However it was really easy and someone was there when we arrived. Stayed in the WB Yeats room which was absolutely fabulous and immaculately clean! It was unbelievably quiet despite being right in the middle of temple bar. Comfortable bed, great breakfast in a local cafe and late check. All in all out what more can you ask for?! I would definitely stay here again. The only thing I didn't like was the glass door on the bathroom which was not frosted. The room had a double and single bed in it so if you were travelling with one of your children for instance this would probably not be ideal.

It was clean and reasonably quiet for a city center location. Very difficult to find - I walked up and down the narrow street four or five times. They have no parking and the only option is to use a municipal car park about 5-6 minutes walk away at Euro2 per hour (after hotel discount!). They describe their rooms as "suites" they are not - just a bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The description "suite" implies at least a lounge area if not a separate lounge. The bedroom was in fact rather small. The towels were old and one was actually quite badly torn along the edge - certainly couldn't be described as luxury.

The room was very comfortable and spacious with beautiful decor. The house is in a good location for Temple Bar and the tourist attractions. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady who made us feel welcome. Once in the room, you are very much left to your own devices I.e there isn't a restaurant or room service; this suited us perfectly for our stay. The stage door cafe provides breakfast, we didn't go until midday and the waitress kindly allowed us to redeem our breakfast voucher for lunch. All in all, highly recommended to all.

The only good thing was location The room or suite as the web page discribes it was tiny no bigger than a small b and b room with ensuite. They had no night service as we found out when we misplaced our keys only that we were lucky enough to find them we were locked out for the night. The idea of calling this place a 5 star luxury suite is very far from the truth. We stayed in the bram stoker suite at 140 euros per night we were discusted with what we got. The dubble

Location independence space Heating went off too early on morning of departure, when we planned to stay around until later in the morning - lack of control. leaving bags on day of departure - as no staff around, just holding for an extra hour or so felt as if we'd be calling staff out specially.
