We absolutely loved this suite. It was only one night in a week of staying in the spare rooms of friends and families and was a real luxurious treat. All the furnishings are classy and expensive and you spend the whole time admiring the lighting and lovely touches. At just over £100 it's good value for money and I think maybe a bit cheaper because it is a suite and not a hotel - but you don't miss the hotel facilities because you are in the heart of Temple Bar with bars and restaurants all around you and we did raid the mini bar for a night cap when we get back. I will recommend it to all my friends - a real treat

It was very comfortable and relaxing, we stayed in the Bram Stoker Suite and with previous reviews, we certainly did not experience any noise.

Excellent location, we could walk everywhere easily. Plenty of interesting bars and restaurants to choose from. The recommended Italian restaurant (fxb) was very good. The suite (wb Yeats) was excellent and spacious. Low water pressure in the shower was our only very small complaint!

Nice room design. Great location. It was advertised as a hotel but it's not, you are simply renting a room in a house that has no facilities or staff. It was hard to sleep as it was very noisy. Five star boutique hotel conjures up a different image altogether. I feel it was sold as something that it is not.

In the heart of Temple Bar. Beautiful suite. Comfy bed. Short stroll to a cafe which caters for their breakfast requirements and the breakfast was delicious. Would recommend.

The staff were very polite and attentive and the Oscar Wilde suite was of a very high standard indeed. The location is also very good for exploring Dublin. The notices regarding the drinks and beverages that are free of charge are somewhat confusing. On the one hand, there is a notice stating that all drinks and beverages are free, while another gives you a price list. This should be clarified. Breakfast at the Stage Door was reasonable but my wife generally prefers fruit and cereal and these were not available

The room was spacious & clean, the bed was comfortable & the character was wonderful. The extra glass on the windows to deafen the noise outside was a great addition. The entrance from the street was very secure & the coded door is a must in such a busy area. We had a lovely relaxing stay & the location is excellent. I have never stayed in 5 star accommodation that didn't have a bath, this was very disappointing. There was a door onto the stairs in our suite (the Oscar Wilde) which we were constantly disturbed with with people coming in & out. The complimentary water was kids size, I thought this looked cheap, & also the fake flowers in the room. The bed was comfortable but only a double, which was very disappointing in such a large room. Even though the lady told us the evening previous that there was a drop box for our keys & we could take our time checking out, we were rushed out of the room when 12pm came. There was linoleum on the entrance floor, cheap shampoo & shower gel, an Ikea weighing scales & Lidl toilet roll, really not up to 5 star standard.

Everything was as expected of a luxury suite, the room was first class with excellent soundproofing. The Temple Bar area of Dublin is very lively even on a Sunday night. It was unusual to leave the premises to have breakfast in a nearby cafe but the food was good and the staff attentive. Everything was of a very high standard.

My fiance and i stayed one night in the Oscar Wilde suite which was truly beautiful & huge. There was an i-pod dock, mini-bar, complimentary water & tea-coffee making facilities. The bed was very comfortable. I loved the bathroom. The noise from outside - this is Temple Bar so it is always noisy up to about 4am. However we were supplied with earplugs!

It was a spacious and comfortable room. It was in the centre of all the nightlife but you don't notice the noise and bustle when in your relaxing room. Highly recommend. There is some stairs to property but that wasn't a problem at all for us. The packages for the rooms need to be more advertised. If requiring champagne etc on arrival.

Am now a regular guest. The Bram Stoker is the smaller of the suite and I usually try not to stay in it. However, last minute trip and no other availability, I did. I was the most comfortable nights sleep in total peace and luxury I have had for years. The most amazing, comfortable bed - pillows, sheets and duvet were top quality egyptian cotton too!. I did not want to get up for work. Room is at the back of the building in jumping buzzing late night Temple Bar, but amazing......SILENCE As if it was the countryside! Way too comfortable to have to get up for work on a dark winter morning! It almost caused me to over sleep!

The Oscar Wilde suite was fantastic. The young girl working was chirpy and very friendly My only downside was my girlfriend had her iphone stolen from out of her hand while we were walking back to the hotel and maybe just other guests should be advised to be vigilant while walking through the area at night

The entire experience was great. I had an overnight Atlantic crossing and then straight to a full days work so was so happy to notice that a brand new top of the range bed had been installed since my last visit in December. This was accompanied by all new soft furnishings - more cushions and throws than a department store. The place is newly decorated (even though it was decorated just last year) and lots of new extra touches such as hand mirrors in the bathroom and complimentary chocolate in the (never to be used) ash/chocotrays. Shame I only stayed 10 hours. A place to relax and luxuriate in Nothing at all - not even the fact that it is right in the heart of Temple bar Tourist trap - late night bars and clubs all over the place. The secondary glazing and the new free earplugs means even at chucking out time 2am, the revellers didn't disturb me

My son and a friend stayed at the Merchant House for a long weekend. He was very impressed with his accommodations. He said, "This is the nicest place I've ever stayed." He liked the central location and reported getting a good night's sleep even in the very lively Temple Bar.

“Friendly hotel that went that extra mile....little things like warm flannel to wash your "grubby" hands on arrival and complimentary bottle of water on leaving hotel, small things that just show attention to detail. Room was second to none...Spotless clean, all amenities including CD player mini bar etc, Bathroom was spacious with separate shower cubical to bath. A hotel slightly out of the hustle and bustle of the city but still not too far out to enjoy the sites.... Good shuttle service (ask at reception) if you intend to use the Dublin Hopper to view sites but be warned although it picks you up outside the hotel it does not return to the hotel and therefore you have approx 10 min walk at the end of a maybe hectic day. . all in all a really good hotel, which I would be more than happy to return too!!. Well Done Croke Park Hotel!!!” Glenda, Newport |
