Location, facilities, cleanliness

My husband and I especially loved all the details in our room. From the frosted bathroom door with the room name on it, to the ear plugs for light sleepers (which were not needed), to the umbrella for borrow, we couldn't have been happier.

Absolutely loved the James Joyce Suite!! Huge with everything we wanted! Staff were amazing and helped with anything we wanted!

Location was perfect! Staff were amazing and very helpful as they help orchestrate my engagement which was perfect!! Suites are so cosy and very well kept and decorated!

Price quite steep as it was my engagement and they did help but charged quite alot for their efforts! €40 for some strawberrys a congrats card and some rose petals! It did look amazing but a lil steep non the less

Lack of a bath was disappointing.

The location is great, if you're into lively areas. Due to the double glazing there's hardly any noice despite the suites being surrounded by night clubs and bars.

The place has only electrical heating which is far from sufficient: the side walls were ice cold (no insulation?) so I was freezing. I got a quick reaction to the comment card I left but this could have been more friendlier in tone.

Spaciousness, location, quality of furnishings/bedding etc. Overall a brilliant experience and one we will absolutely repeat! No cooking facilities but this is not required as everything is on the doorstep. Every other detail is covered including a fridge for your own special bottle of wine (something that is very rare in Ireland).

I had to think hard to find any negatives so this is being very picky.... The outside grill door is quite difficult to close, especially in the rain!

We stayed in The James Joyce suite, beautifully decorated and spacious. The housekeeper was very informative and helpful allowing an early check in as our room was ready, and holding onto our luggage after checkout. Property is well located.

Not that I did not like this aspect, but bookers should be aware that the property is directly across from a bar and nightclub which can get noisy. Did not bother us as we did not expect or book this property for a quiet peaceful weekend.

Our contact 'Douglas' was very helpful, the room was so warm, cosy and tastefully decorated! The central location in Dublin was fantastic!

The walls between rooms are very thin, you can hear your neighbors. There is hot water shortage, because they use boiler or something like this.

Excellent location, Superb room, excellent decor and facilities. Would highly recommend to anyone on city break to Dublin

Location brilliant for access to temple bar nightlife and for shops..nothing too far away if you wanted to walk.

A little too expensive for location outside a nightclub..even with tripke glazing u can hear noise at kicking out time 3am..

For the last few years i have spent my birthday at the merchant hotel. I love the comfort and style of the apartment. The location is excellent and the breakfast in the stage door delicious So much character I hopd to spend many more bithdays to come in the merchant

Location.

It is not a 5 stars hotel. No windows in the room, weird entrance. Hard to open the bedroom`s door. No printer to do the check in of the flight.

organization, they let you wait long time before showing up for check in. Never managed to talk to the same person, failed to show up at agreed time.
