Lobby and lounge are always reserved for external customers having Tea. Need to decide if they focus on guests or passing trade
Central location. Wifi in the room was excellent. Comfortable bed. All the staff we encountered were very helpful.
Lovely hotel. Great location. Staff were amazing. Fell all over us!!
Bit pricey when there was no breakfast included and parking was TWENTY euro on top of bill
Lovely lounge and relaxed atmosphere. Great room, big, comfortable and immaculate. Staff very polite- will definitely return.
Staff probably one of the best I've ever encountered, beautiful common areas, cozy, very well appointed rooms (standard rooms are a little smaller than advertised, but still lovely), super comfortable beds, excellent breakfast (worth it even if not included in your room rate), nice spa area (in need of a face lift though - see minuses) and a great, quiet, super central location. One of the nicest hotel experiences overall - would definitely come back.
Parts of the hotel are in need of a bit of a face lift. It's perfectly lovely as it is, but to elevate the hotel to true, world class 5-star status, common areas, particularly the gym and the pool area should be upgraded and updated (tiles, lighting, candles, flowers etc.) It would also be lovely if breakfast was served in a more airy, spacious setting (it's in the basement right now). Sound proofing in rooms could also be better (you hear what goes on in the hallways right now.) These are minor points though, overall the hotel is fantastic.
staff attitude excellent, biggest beds I've ever seen in a hotel, made you feel special
A fabulous hotel in every way and the location is excellent.
The politeness of all the staff, attentative and always with a smile ready to welcome you and assist you, from the concierge to room service.
When booking the room it said City View but, when getting to the room, the view wasn't as expected. Also a small trouble with the hot water in the last couple of days but not one that would make me think twice about going back again!
Everything about our stay was excellent.
The concierge team are genuinly eager to help in my view. This authenticity is appealing to me.
The milk jug that came with my breakfast was not clean. nor did I like the snack bar in the room. Too complicated for me.
A true 5 Star. Excellent in all respects.
Always a pleasure to stay here and so lovely at Christmas time, the tree was amazing.....will be back for sure.
THE OPEN FIRES. AND WHEN I ORDERED A POT OF TEA I WAS PRESENTED WITH FIVE MINI MINCE PIES.
The arrival is a pleasure. The staff cannot do enough. We stay every Christmas and this year was exceptional. When we arrived we were immediately told we were upgraded to a suite. Incredible is the best description of the place and the staff. The Merrion is a place we will return to again and again.
Afternoon tea atmosphere was great really Christmassy!
Bar was very quiet at night
View from my bedroom window
Clean and beautifully decorated rooms, amazing beds, amazing room service. Just the best hotel in Dublin I don't like staying anywhere else now.
I had contacted to arrange a proposal to my now fiance. Martin couldnt have been more helpful and arranged everything from the garden setting, champagne etc. The room upgrade was also a lovely touch. We will be coming back for many anniversaries I'm sure!
The staff in this hotel are excellent and in particular it is made all the more enjoyable by Jim( senior). He is a true gentleman. It is to him the Merrion Hotel owes so much.
No comfortable residence lounge or library just for and only for residence.
Fantastic hotel , great location ..
Pure homely luxury ! You do not at all feel intimidated in any way as the Staff are so warm & kind and genuine. Chilled , relaxed atmosphere
The coldness between the Msin Building & rear annex
The staff were pleasant efficient professional and attentive. Breakfast menu was outstanding with herbs, spices , fruit etc. used to enhance such dishes as omelettes and french toast.
