The hotel was a gem, easy to find since it's next to the monastery. Prices in Ireland had been a shock so this was excellent value and the room perfect. Delicious food and helpful friendly staff...we were sorry to have to move on.

After arriving late at the hotel after a 15 hr journey, I was presented with a beautifully cooked 3 course dinner. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the team. Sat nav got a little confused and I advise emailing the hotel for accurate travel instructions before your first visit if you don't know the area or will be travelling after dark. Will I be going back? Yes. The only thing that caused me grief was the local brown signs, with white lettering are very difficult to see in the gathering evening gloom, when travelling on my own. Advise contacting the hotel for accurate local way points to ease your journey.

Cant fault anything.A Very warm welcome,a cup of tea on arrival, shown to a lovely room with a huge bathroom....it was what I needed.A Very quiet and scenic location. The monastery was lovely, with monks chanting at midday. The teshop and museum good too. Hotel provided a full and delicious breakfast on both days. Family who run the place are most welcoming and friendly.

The Hotel is located in a beautiful part of Co.Waterford within easy reach of all attractions including lovely Lismore and 20 mins from the sea. The food here is great and an overall feel of home from home. I will be making a return visit soon. Superb. .

A Wonderful experience! The staff could not have been nicer; the room was very comfortable and clean; the homemade food (custom order hot breakfast and dinner) was outstanding and extremely reasonable. Very kind people, restful place and they made us feel like family. In the country- find it before dark even if using a GPS.

The cost of the stay, the comfortable bed. Very old fashioned; bathroom was freezing; heating was inadequate; would have liked to have been asked what I wanted in my breakfast fry; the bedroom was like a cell in an old convent (which I reckon it had been in a previous life!); limited tv channels - not much point in having tv at all really.

Lovely location near to Mount Melleray. Quite remote from any town so was very tranquil. I enjoyed my visit and am determined to return again before long. Nice family who were happy to let their guests be as involved as they liked or not whichever suited. A very cheap nights bed and breakfast. The food was as expected wholesome but good.

It's a lovely old family run hotel. The 'staff' are very friendly and welcoming to all that arrive there and make a big effort to talk to and get to know their guests. I would highly recommend a stay there.

This hotel is close by an abbey and so there are beauiful walks from the hotel to the abbey. The hotel was built in the 1830's so has plenty of atmosphere and was quite welcoming.

Our stay at The Pilgrims Rest was very pleasant. Our host was friendly and accommodating, our rooms were comfortable, and the price was unbeatable. I've been vacationing in Ireland for 18 years and this has been my best hotel experience so far. On the last day of our stay there was a mix up and our rooms weren't serviced while we were out. Not a big deal; mistakes happen.

We booked 3 nights (Fri - Sun) to meet with friends in Clonmel and Tramore on Saturday and Sunday.Travelling from Leitrim we were running a little late for checking in on Friday night when we recieved a call from Chris at the hotel telling us not to rush and he would still be there to check us in.That was very reassuring, we arrived at 11.10pm and were met by Chris and his brother Andrew who really made us feel welcome with lovely tea and scones. This was the start of a most enjoyable weekend at the Pilgrims Rest. The service was excellent, genuinely helpful, non intrusive, very professional and all provided by the two brothers. The monastery is worth a visit.Excellent food(Andrew is a commis chef) Reluctant to leave on Monday and will come back

My wife and I had a very pleasant stay-it was a pity we were not able to stay for longer in order that we could have explored the local scernery and it was unfortunate the weather was not favourable to enjoy the views. The Hotel is quite basic but is very clean and the staff, who are members of the family who live in and run the hotel, were very friendly. The breakfast was very well presented and along with the room rate was very good value. The hotel is quite remote with Cappoquin at about 7kms distant having any facilities.
