Nice room,,lovely location,good evening meal,,,welcoming hosts,
The hotel is spotlessly clean and the family who run it were extremely welcoming and helpful at all times. I love the location of this hotel which some would say was quite isolated but is located next door to Mount Mellery an historic abbey. This is the third time I have stayed here & will be coming back next year. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a peaceful & tranquil setting with excellent hosts.
Great location very relaxed
No wifi poor network coverage
My brother and I greatly enjoyed the relaxed athmosphere and family "feel" of the hotel.
Everything was great. The staff was most welcoming and attentive. We had nicely decorated bright room with very comfortable bed and a great bathroom with a powerful shower.Very clean! It was very quiet so we had a good nights rest. Would definitely recommend the hotel to others
No such thing
The welcome the food the wine the value
the accommodation was basic, having said that, the beds were comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean
We liked our stay here. There was a friendly atmosphere and the room (if old, part of its charm really) was clean and comfortable. Very good value for money overall and the food was simple but very good too.
Not much to dislike for us but might not meet the expectations of those expecting a 'regular' hotel experience.
The staff was really nice and welcoming. The location looks amazing and really quite, peacefully, and thanks to the good weather we could enjoyed a really nice breakfast in the garden. The bedroom was big and really nice and clean.
There was no hair dryer in the room.
The food was lovely & the room so clean & hosts Dave & Mary were so helpful in telling us were 2 go & what 2 see. An over all quite & relaxing holiday.
There was nothing I didn't like
Location & setting Attention of owners to accommodate some of our our requests 'We don't know what you want until you tell us' BUT as guests there are certain 'basics' one would expect.
No tea/coffee facilities in the room Over priced poor wine Poor choices on menu just 3 roasts and chicken goujons for mains. (But the guy at the next table got haddock!! )No salad No vegetarian option
the staff the food and location
just right no problems
Beautiful, peaceful location, friendly staff, fantastic value for money
The staff and owner were kind and always willing to assist and advise. The place proved to be an ideal base camp to explore the lower part of Ireland.
It is a large Country Hotel in a quiet location. The rooms were spacious and well decorated in an old style. The dinner and breakfast were excellent and good value. It is family owned and service was excellent.
The remote location could be a problem for some people.
staff were lovely and helpful very friendly couldn't do enough for us the hotel was very clean as were rooms with a big bathroom beautiful views food was very good will go back soon
The very friendly staff welcomed me by name which was a nice touch. Really good value in a peaceful location.
Ideal location to escape from it all. I was travelling between Galway and Waterford, I booked in here last minute as I needed a rest point between the two and found it to be the cheapest accommodation enroute. It is a little of the beaten path but I found it to be excellent value for money, with a very comfortable ensuite room. I booked in for a 2nd night on my return leg of the journey.
Great nights sleep! Cosey bed! Nice to be able to make tea and coffee whenever we needed in the hotel lobby. Staff were very helpful! Scenery beautiful! Place very peaceful! I loved to have the freedom of staying overnight without having to have a breakfast.....it was great that breakfast was optional!
Perhaps leave out a jug of cold water for drinking during the Summer.....as well as tea and coffee! Otherwise.....I cannot find fault with this Gem of a place!
Very friendly staff, couldn't have been more helpful. Fantastic location, just 10 minutes drive outside of Lismore, so peaceful. Nice large rooms, good wifi. Top quality breakfast. Would not hesitate to return when next in the area.
Tea and Coffee facilities were available down stairs, but would have been nice to have had these in the bedroom. A very minor point and should not be considered a minus point!!!
beautiful tranquil countryside location. Simple but clean and comfortable rooms with excellent shower !!
not a problem for me but all rooms upstairs so would not suit my mother to visit.... pity
