Was located on the Ring of Kelly
The owner was very helpful and a delight to talk to.
We liked EVERYTHING! We felt pampered, cared for and very well fed. We were grateful to Nora for drying our 'smalls' which my wife had left to dry in the bathroom. Nora hung them on her washing line and returned them later in the day. An act of Irish kindness beyond the call of duty. We would love to return in the future.
There is nothing to dislike about The Purple Heather.
The room was clean and tidy. Host was very helpful with information on what to see. Kate Kearneys was well worth visiting when in the area.
Difficult to find. Our GPS put us in wrong location. Phone call got us there eventually. Apparently this is a common problem. Payment was cash only and we were not informed prior to arrival.
Quiet but friendly. Helpful owners. Great breakfast. Great pub near by.
None of the B and B's we stayed at offered laundry facilities. It would be helpful if B and B's offered use of a clothes line or drying area for clothes that we hand washed ourselves.
Comfy beds, everything very clean..even ironed linen, friendly and personable hosts, beautiful setting. All in all a really positive and pleasant stay.
The house, room were clean and fresh, the owners were frendly and helpful with directions and places to visit.
short distance to Kate Kearny's cottage where we had a nice event, friendly owners, nice breakfast in a nice conservatory.
small size room, no good view from bedroom.
Everything was fine
If anything the room was a little small
Breakfast was excellent, man of the house friendly and gave good recommendations for a meal that night
Very pokey room, you don't expect a double bed up against a wall in accommodation..which means only one bedside table and one lamp. Wifi wouldn't connect, although free wifi is advertised..
Quiet - beautiful view from the back yard. Short drive to attractions, including Gap of Dunloe and Kate Kearney's Cottage pub. Comfy, cozy room.
Excellent hosts. We arrived very early looking to just drop off our bags but they had a room ready and let us check in then. Tim offered us great advice for climbing Carrauntoohil. Breakfast was lovely. Rain shower. Location amazing for exploring the mountains and Gap of Dunloe.
Close to gap and good starting point for Carrantouhill. 15 min walk to Kate Kearneys cottage - good steak. Hosts friendly. Not in Killarney!
OK I'm Irish, I know what to expect but tourists might be disappointed, a bit of a lack of engagement. This is your typical 1970/ 80's b&b, nothing really wrong with it, just a bit old fashioned, orange juice always an issue in this kind of house!
Lovely setting in the Gap on Dunloe; gracious hosts and lovely home!
Scenery, location, staff attention, breakfast.
Room could have been warm on arrival - but it was heated immediately afterwards.
Owners went out of their way to help with directions, suggestions and early breakfast
In a great position, close to attractions and good eating places and the hosts Tim and Nora were just wonderful.
