Staff and food were excellent - both breakfast and dinner. Area is nice - visit the Skerries mills! ATM right across the street.
Too long a walk to the train station, although there are taxis. Needed to leave the room and go to dining room to get good wifi connection.
Breakfast - excellent choice / cooking. Location ideally placed in Skerries with access for Laytown races and Dublin. Friendly staff. Room sufficient (but prefer larger room on top floor had previously). Good value. Very enjoyable stay. Would stay again. Highly recommended.
Requested same room but no communication to say whether available or not. Rang but just got music! Couldn't access internet via iPad or iPhone
Skerries was a real surprise the place was lovely. Awesome beaches and harbour lovely places to eat .train station close by if we wanted to use it. We drove up to Laytown came back had an amazing meal. Breakfast was very good rooms excellent
Being fussy the coffee had stood for too long !! That's all
The Room The Staff The Food My Bed
Skerries Mill Tour an excellent presentation, the Redbank a very central location . to operate from, many beautiful locations within an hours drive. Good value for a short stay. Good breakfast, Restaurant Menu quit 'pricey' so we tended to 'eat out'.
Use of Duvet on beds, we had asked for a top sheet to be available on booking but had to ask again on seeing duvet only on beds, sheet provided appeared to be a duvet cover!. View from room window was disappointing, due to the fact that 'The Yard' included a lot of rubbish and was very untidy, it would take very little to clear up this area. On street Pay Parking from 8am to 6pm on all streets in Skerries adjacent to the Red Bank meant that one had to feed the meter the night before (1EURO PER HOUR) Free parking through the day quit a distance from Hotel.
Arriving on motorbikes wasn't an issue. We received a warm welcome and we're offered off-street parking for the bikes. The rooms are pleasant, clean with very comfortable beds. Breakfast is excellent and the restaurant offers a wide choice of tasty options. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the cost of accommodation and restaurant pleasingly low. We have used this as a stopover from the ferry twice on trips and will do so again. RECOMMENDED.
We had two lovely breakfasts served by the chef which were delicious, I would highly recommend the redbank brown bread.
great food, good rooms, good people, fantastic breakfast (try salmon and eggs!)
no parking, no wifi
Excellent breakfast Staff friendly Our bedroom good size
Having to keep feeding meter Bed linen tired wi-fi not as expected
Don't be fooled by the extremely low price to stay at this incredible unique guesthouse. Our bedroom had very good quality furniture and beds (antique feel and look) and a lovely nook with table and chairs to relax by the huge windows in the corner of the room. And to top it off, we experienced the finest dining experience downstairs, featuring the chef, Terry McCoy, who not only treated our pallets with the freshest fish but also came out to talk and serve us as well. Quite a memorable experience and would recommend the RedBank to anyone.
Comfortable and convenient. Lovely food with a choice at breakfast.
large room & spacious private bath very good breakfasts & special dinner menu close proximity to everything in town
The whole athomsphere of the Redbank was wonderful, the staff were very welcoming, rooms spotless and breakfast very tasty. The garden was a haven for me as a smoker.
The breakfast very nice
The accommodation was decent value for money
The restaurant was seriously over priced and of poor quality. We had visited the Redbank many years ago when it was considered a top restaurant in the greater Dublin area but it has sat on its laurels and is now poor quality and outdated. Heavy cream sauces seem to be served with everything and fish dishes were over cooked. Prices were double those of other better restaurants in the village of Skerries.
Very comfortable, huge bed and huge rooms. Lovely old, classic furniture. Slept like logs and enjoyed the Irish breakfasts. We had the "early bird" menu one evening in the restaurant which was popular with locals too. Very attentive service and absolutely beautiful food - couldn't fault it. And a great price for it. Enjoyed having a drink first in the little sitting room while we looked over the menu. The "waiter" did it all - from greeting us, to taking food and drinks orders and was very efficient and friendly. He managed to juggle the requirements of all the tables effortlessly. Good location (parking available right outside, free overnight until 8 a.m. and you can prepay the night before if you want a lie in before moving the car!) Free parking on The Strand if you want it, a few mins walk away. Talking to a lovely lady over breakfast about her 40 years as a visitor - a great advert for the place. If you want good value, comfortable beds, large rooms, a good location and a hearty breakfast, you will find all here.
As others have said, the hotel could do with a bit of TLC. Minor little things need doing/replacing. It lets it down that paint is peeling in the bathroom, the tap top came off in my hand, as did a wardrobe handle and the top of the bin fell to the floor every time we used it. It would take so little to put these things right. Come on Terry, get a little team in and bring it back to the elegant place it clearly once was! Also, although most of the staff were great, we also were greeted (if that's the right word) by a very miserable foreign lady, who barely said a word. No mention of breakfast, parking, wifi (it took us until the next morning to be told we needed a password) and seemed very fed up. Such a shame as the others were very efficient and friendly. Would have been good to have someone on Reception - no-one was ever there when we did have a question. Bus timetables and tourist info in room - however, so out of date they were irrelevant (bus timetable from 2007!) Also, if providing toiletries, please don't screw them into containers on the wall, meaning you can't actually get any out as the tops didn't push down! Had to go and buy some shower gel and soap. However, would definitely stay again as what you really want is comfort, space and location - with good breakfasts, and we were happy with all of these.
Excellent Guest House in centre of Skerries town. Top quality breakfast.
Very friendly staff, check-in two hours earlier then expected, very clean and comfortable bed.
Breakfast was in a more or less dark room without windows (only small ones) and very oldschool (dark furniture).
We loved the location and the wonderful breakfast and dinner. Ideally situated to stroll along the beach and also convenient to Dublin and the airport without having to stay in Dublin.
Advertised free Wi-Fi, but found the connection to be extremely slow.
It is far better for a country lovers who arrive at the Dublin airport to stay here than going straight to downtown and stay in an unreasonably expensive hotels. Good seafood is waiting for you in this hotel( until 930 ) and in the morning, you can enjoy very good breakfast ! Staffs including the award winned chef is very friendly to the visitors too.
Parking is free from 6pm until 8 am on the road nearby ( Sunday seems to be free all day ) but other time, you have to pay 1 euro per one hour. Policemen always watching and checking your illegal parking.
Staff where great, meals where excellent ,
Parking not too good, always going and paying the meter
the guesthouse was a home from home for a good few days. Peaceful calm atmosphere, really good breakfast and the most helpful of staff.
I liked everything about the Redbank.
Staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous.Lovely location, spacious double room and great power shower.
Friendly staff, lovely rooms and very central location
Location and value for money . Excellent breakfast
Noise of fan in the bathroom
