Overlooking Galway and its beaches, the White House is 1.5 miles from the center of the city. It offers well-priced rooms with free Wi-Fi, cooked Irish breakfasts and free parking.

The Ocean Crest B&B has excellent accommodations with breakfast included and an apartment in Salthill. It offers panoramic views of Galway Bay, within a 20-minute walk of the center of the city.
Score from 493 reviews Very good
Recently renovated, Amber Hill is a purpose-built B&B,less than a 15 minute walk from the beach and 2 miles from the heart of Galway City.
Score from 506 reviews Very good
The hotel is ideally located between the busy center of Galway and the relaxed seaside resort town of Salthill.
Score from 764 reviews Very good
Free breakfast provided (coffee, tea, cereal, toast, milk, butter, assortment of jams/jellies). Also the location was right by my cousin's student housing, which was the reason for my travel.
The only negative was the long walk into town, but taxis are fairly inexpensive and buses are frequent, quick and cheap.
The cleanliness, the staff and the price
location is away from the city centre and salthill - too far to walk but only a short drive if you dont mind driving.
very clean bedroom and hotel generally. you can use a fridge, kettle, microwave.. the are also free tee, coffee and.. LIGHT BREAKFAST FOR FREE (toasts and marmalade, cereals, tee, milk, coffee)! we didn't book for breakfast but that type was included.
Really nice place to stay, rooms are spacious and comfortable. The value was excellent. Really enjoyed our stay and will be back again
Nothing I didn't like
I really liked to stay in this guesthouse, the room was very clean and nice. Very quiet place and there were everything we needed. And was really cheap as well. I highly recommend the Rise Guesthouse.
Very clean and tidy and one of the bedrooms seemed newly decorated which was nice.
Nothing to mention.
Excellent base for Galway city and the west coast.the rooms were clean and very spacious and the staff were extremely helpful and polite. Terrific value for money- would highly recommend!
Quad room was perfect
A lot of taxi drivers didn't know it
Great Staff...very friendly. So central to the city centre, and very cheap...will definitely stay here again
Just about everything
The member of staff who checked us in was pleasant The wallpaper
The staff member with 'attitude' Attic room (which I specifically asked not to be given when booking online with booking.com) The really uncomfortable bed No bedside light Poor WiFi signal upstairs We arrived after 8 o'clock after a long arduous journey only to discover that I was assigned a box room in the attic which quite frankly is not adquate for a paying guest, but they let our room to someone else even though they knew that we were enroute. We were informed at check-in that we were welcome to help ourselves to tea/coffee in the guest lounge/dining area. An offer which we gratefully accepted due to the long journey we had and the fact that we hadn't had time to eat since lunch-time and we didn't want to eat in our rooms. However, we had just made the tea when a very unfriendly, surly member of staff interupted us and very sharply told us off for opening cupboard doors and washing out a bowl in the sink - we had not been informed that the sink area and the cupboards were 'out of bounds' as there were no signs to tell us and anyway it was a visitor's lounge/dining area! She was most unpleasant, and we were so upset that we went straight to our rooms - my sister didn't even drink her tea. I didn't sleep a wink all night between a combination of the nastiness of this woman towards us and the uncomfortable room and bed, and we didn't even avail of the continental breakfast in the morning as the same woman was on duty again so we went to a nearby cafe called O'Hehirs Bakery & Cafe where we got lovely food and a pleasant service.
Very accommodating and friendly
Problems with noise one night, may have been more an issue with the guests rather than the accomadation
clean and friendly
The staff are all very friendly and efficient. The rooms are large, clean, well maintained and excellent value for money. Cereals and toast are available each morning even if you book on a room only basis. The wifi strength is good too.
heat in the room, size of the room, tea and coffee facilities. It was a quiet place to stay.
we were in a room upstairs and the wifi signal was weak/non existent sometimes. We had to go to another property run by the same people to get breakfast.
Good location Great B&B Friendly staff Free onsite parking
WiFi was a bit wonky but we were at the top; it worked fine on lower levels
The reasonable comfort and the service
More info should be provided about where facilities are kept.
Nice house, parking, nice area
the room was really cold when we arrived and has always been really COLD for all 4 days without possibility to control temperature Wifi very slooooooooow
If I ever travel again to Galway, "The Rise" will be my first choice.
Taking the bus to Galway City is an little bit complicated..
Everything was superb and the best value we have found in the UK
tHE BED WAS FINE AND THE BREAKFAST EXCELLENT.
tHE ELECTRIC FIRE DIDN'T WORK.
good staff nice breakfast very comfortable
the location is 30min walk from Galway city and in the evening you have to take a taxi. No buses late in the evening late or early morning if you are going out.
The room was fab!
Check at 11:00am is slightly on the early side, not a lot of time to get things done in the morning. A check out of 12:00 would be better.
Everything was great.
There was nothing I didnt like
it was great value for money and had great facilities to accomidate people on the move inc a microwave and little kitchen area, very homely and welcoming just like a small hotel :)
Only small thing that was annoying was the noise of the vents in the bathroom banging all night every time the wind blew
