The Rise Guesthouse  

This place is a great value. The accommodations were nice, the staff were very helpful and friendly, and the house has a variety of room sizes to fit couples or small groups.

It was definitely a long haul (approx. 40 min. walk) from the guesthouse to the City Center, but we had a rental car, so it was not an issue. I'm sure public transportation would've been available if needed as it was a quick 10 minute drive to the city.

The staff is very kind, the bedroom is large, you have plenty of choice for breakfast because you can eat what u want for only 6 euros more. Try full irish breakfast.

Almost everything. Friendly and efficient staff. Clean and well appointed bedroom and bathroom. Excellent breakfast.I would definately stay there again and tell friends to use it.

The only slight criticism I would make is that the bed was a bit too soft and spongy for my taste.

They accommodated my 9yr old daughter who had to join me unplanned. I arrived early and that wasn't a problem. The kitchen facilities on each floor. There was even a microwave.

The staff was excellent. Michael was the daytime staff person and he was warm, friendly, and had given us great 'sound' advice about travel safety! The Irish breakfast was most delicious and well worth it! The Guest House was very clean, and warm! The room was beautiful also very warm as it was cool in Ireland the week we visited, so a warm room at the end of the day was most appreciated! Overall, it was a good experience for me and my daughter! We would encourage others to stay if directions once in Salthill were available.

'The Rise Guesthouse' was just a 'little difficult' to find! The street it's on is only 1/2 of a block long. We found it by default so maybe more explicit directions need to be provided once entering Salthill. Also, the sign on the front of the building says "The Rise" with a different phone number than what is listed. But once we got there and talked to the manager, all was well and we enjoyed our stay! Accurate phone numbers and directions, always a plus! Thanks!

The breakfast was absolutely amazing ... the next time we will be in Galway, this will be our place to stay.

It took us quite some time to get to the city centre though. I suppose this will not be a problem if you have enough money to buy a bus ticket or rent a car ....

Lovely room. All areas extremely clean and well equipped. Exactly as you see in their photos. Great full Irish breakfast as well as a big selection of breads, cereals and fruit. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly reccomended. Cheaper than most hotels in the area and just as good.

More like student accommodation....communal tea/coffee facilities out on the landing in a small kitchen area....dirty dishes lying about in sink put me off making tea.

The rooms were very clean, very well decorated and very comfortable. Very good value for money. Tee & coffee making facilites outside of the room were a nice addition. The guesthouse was nice and quiet. Our room had a balcony which was lovely.

The woman who checked us in was extremely rude. We were left waiting at the door when checking in for ten mins in the cold. When the woman did arrive, she did not ask us how long we were waiting or apologise for the delay. She made us feel like we were putting her out or wasting her time by checking in. She did not offer any information unless prompted. During the mornings the cleaning could be a bit noisy. It woke us up. Also during the check out process, she was very rude and unhelpful, did not ask us how our stay was, just took the payment and did not offer thanks. As we left she did not say goodbye or thank us. This review would have been much better, had our experience with the staff been better, more informative or even a smile. When staying at a guest-house you would expect some homely hospitality but unfortunately we were left wanting at this guesthouse.

Hotels area is lovely and clean, staff very friendly and helpfull. Lovely place for stay and rest.

We found a really confortable room en-suite, perfectly clean and really nice. The staff was friendly and the breakfast really good.

The position was perfect for us going to the connemara airport by our own car but maybe isn't so good for who's travelling with public transport

Having paid 110 euros a night, was a bit disappointed in the size of the room, very small for a double and felt quite cramped because of the sloping roof

I felt comfortable when staying. When we went out or returned there was nobody there to make you feel awkard (staff) because of the times you choose. I loved the little kitchen and able to make tea etc when required. The rooms where superb and nicely decorated. The breakfast/dining room very pleasant and comfortable and I would recommend to other friends

I Found the Rise Guesthouse extremely clean. I would recommend this to all of my friends for its cleanliness. Absolutely fabulous. Central location, we were too late for breakfast but was told it would have cost 6euro, very reasonable. So will make sure the next time i dont miss out on such a bargain. see you soon. many thanks for a very enjoyable stay.

it was a Saturday night, so just a bit noisy when peopel were returning after their night out. But i guess its to be expected on a weekend.

It was very nice and central for us. It was very clean and comfortable and had your every need. Fridge and coffee facilities and breakfeat was top of the class. We will definetly recommend this B&B highly.
