Front desk staff very nice. Breakfast buffest was good.
Location. Very old. Rooms need remodeling.
Helpful staff, very large room, comfortable bed, good breakfast and a central location. Didn't cost much.
Hotel smelled of cigarette smoke throughout and even though we requested a non smoking room the bed sheets smelled of stake smoke
I spoke to a member of staff at breakfast time to compliment him on the quality of service. He said you have to make a special effort at the end of the season to make sure the visit is a good experience for everyone. I liked this attitude.
Road traffic was continuous until late at night, but again that is what you pay for the convenience of a city contre hotel.
position. room. en-suite
An exposed socket in the bathroom. Loud extractors went on at 7.00am.No iron. breakfast had no fruit salad . The fry was poor with the eggs undercooked. Paying extra for parking
The Victoria Hotel wowed us when we walked into our generously spacious room. It contained a full soaker tub in the washroom, a double and a single bed, and an abundance of space. The bed was comfortable, and the washroom was clean, spacious with good water pressure and natural soap/shampoo. The wifi was excellent and included in the stay. We opted to include breakfast with our stay for a very reasonable price and were quite pleased with it. The Hotel also has a pub next to the lobby which feels authentic (although they could learn to pour a Guiness). Overall very satisfied, would stay here again!
I just can't get over old hotel carpets. They feel dirty no matter how clean they are.
How easy it was to get to anywhere we wanted from the hotel the room was quite spacious and the bed comfortable towels and sheets changed regular was good value for the monies paid
The rooms and hallway being cleaned too early like to sometimes get up later when on holiday but was disturbed by hoovering I would have liked a bit more variation with the breakfast
Room next to generators v noise
The hotel is right in the heart of the city with easy access to station, buses, restaurants, pubs and shops. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was great.
Not a thing
The mattress was really old and felt like sleeping on a plank of wood. I looked under the sheets at it the next morning and could see the mattered had sagged and I reckon it was as old as the town! We also requested a non smoking room, yet the room clearly smelt of an old ashtray! The toilet also made the most horrific noise when you flushed it... Not great with little kids in the room sleeping.
Almost everything. The room was a good size as was the bathroom. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. It was great to have tea making facilities too.
It was a bit noisey in the mornings from work going on out the back of the hotel in the next business.
Helpful staff, location, shower, beds
Very clean, quiet , great location. Walking distance to railway station . Fantastic breakfast. Would definitely stay here again
Unpleasant odour in room and decor generally very dated and in poor condition.
All the staff were very helpful, the general manager in particular was excellent throughout our stay. The bar served a good pint!
Our room (103) was located in front of a busy road and was across the corridor from the toilets. This meant that the hand dryer from the gents and the traffic from the road kept me up for most of the night. This was a pity because I really liked the hotel, and any other room would probably have made for a much better experience.
The neat and cleansiness and the friendly staff.
No wifi available in the rooms.
Near to Town centre and travel facilities
the atmosphere was gloomy and old fashioned. No other provision for meals or snacks other than breakfast and a vending machine. No Lounge area, only one armchair by reception, would not choose to stay there again.
Excellent location. Rooms were cleaned every day. Can't say a bad thing about the hotel.. Will diff stay here again...
The Victoria Hotel is the perfect spot to stay if you want to be close to the hustle and bustle of Eyre Square and all the shops, bars and restaurants. However it is not too close that noise would bother you. It is tucked away in a lovely quiet corner with just a 5 min walk to all the local businesses. I would definitely stay here again and I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to be in the centre of Galway.
Great location, residents bar, vending machines, old style room key, spacious room
location to city centre price for twin room was ok, but single beds. As two lads sharing we were not too bothered.
toiletries, towels... only one key allowed per room! and I mean a KEY.
Great service, Good location, 5 minute walk to everything, Good views of harbor.
No onsite parking, Minor road noise.
Ideal place for the Galway races, which is when we stayed, everything is a short walk, bars restaurants and busses, incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff
We spent a terrifying night there. Victoria Hotel meant not sleeping at all and having a bad breakfast afterwards. Maybe they make more money by hiring their location for a discotheque with music until 3 o'clock than with the hotel guests; unfortunately some guests made their private room party until 6 o'clock. For us there was no sleep at all. Surprised that we could not meet any staff who felt responsable? For this price you'll find a lot of other, really nice places to stay!
