The Waterside  

After a mishandled booking (see below) we were offered alternative, self-catering, accommodation. Staff provided us with breakfast materials as we needed to leave before the earliest breakfast on offer. Staff dealt with the booking confusion in an efficient and un-ruffled way. Quiet location, friendly staff.

For whatever reason, The Waterside knew nothing about our booking through Booking.com and as a result we didn't get the room we'd booked - a twin bed room with a river view. No internet available. Poor TV service. A very noisy little dog.

Beautiful room beside the river,luxury bed, bathroom. Superb service, late check out and pot of hot coffee so appreciated. Excellent value for money.

The room was clean and comfortable. The food was good. I enjoyed our stay.

The hotel did not have a sideboard at breakfast. I missed having fruit and scones. It needs to offer a wider selection of breakfast foods.

Rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Staff were very friendly especially John the bar man. Very quiet location which suited us and close to the beach. Overall, good value for money, you get what you pay for.

You would need to travel outside the village for lively bars, restaurants or shopping.

For a quiet relaxing retreat the Waterside was lovely.

Location

The Waterside is a gem of a place. The decor is beautiful and the location is lovely, set right beside a river. The weather was good for our stay and the setting was idyllic. The room was small but beautifully furnished and the breakfast in the morning was great. We will be back!

Lovely hotel.Rooms very comfortable with fluffy pillows and duvet.Spotslessly clean not a bit of dust anywhere.Beautiful location overlooking a little river and in the heart of a pretty village a small walk to the beach and golf club.Breakfast excellent. The pub is very friendly and does a great pint of guiness.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were also very comfortable.

Only negative point was the we arrived after 9pm and there was no food available after 8:30

The staff was helpful, especially the barman, and went out of their way to get us to the airport in the wee dark hours of the morning. The down comforters were heavenly, the room immaculate. Be preparerd to share the music in the Pub downstairs if you stay on a Saturday evening as the sound goes through the entire Inn. I rather enjoyed it, but some might not, as it goes on until 1 AM. I wish we could have stayed longer.
