Score from 5 reviews Very good
staff food quietness comfort cleanliness
shower very cramped
-Free parking -Friendly staff -Room ready well in advance of check-in time (ready at 11am) -Nice bar with good selection of food and drink -Free Wi-Fi -Only 10-12 minutes from city centre in a taxi -Dublin bus stop opposite the hotel with very regular service -Close to Phoenix Park -Excellent breakfast -Very efficient check-out -Close to M50
-Some areas of hotel could do with a little renovation (lifts, hallways, bathrooms) -Fan in bathroom was a little noisy when light was on
Even though it's a bit outdated I'd come back again and again very friendly great food and very very clean
Nothing just would benefit from a update
nice location friendly staff
staff, service and helpfulness, food choice and quality good value for money
nothing to dislike
Eaasy access into Dublin.
Free parking, breakfast, cheerful staff, big room, clean toilet with bath tub.
Just a minor flaw with shower.
An older hotel that smelled nice and clean, and was actually clean and comfortable, homey. the staff was more than helpful Breakfast was very good lots of parking, and handy to the busses
Could use an ATM or cash machine on site, had to walk along way to use the ATM machine.
Great location. On family holiday to Dublin Zoo and Tayto Park. Not the Ritzy upstairs however fabulous breakfast with super friendly staff. Serious Value for money close to Dublin City Centre.
Rooms tired need a make over
The comfort and environment. Excellent staff. Out of city location. Meals.
Bus service to city infrequent. Location may not suit everyone.
STAFF NICE AND ACCOMODATING. WIFI WAS VERY GOOD. BEDS WERE VERY COMFORTABLE AND THE PILLOWS WERE EXCELLENT
HOTEL IS VERY DATED AND COULD DO WITH A FACE LIFT. INNER DOORS OF LIFT DID NOT CLOSE PROPERLY, VERY DANGEROUS FOR CHILDREN WHO COULD PUT THIER FINGERS THROUGH. LONG BLACK HAIRS IN BATH
The room was spacious and clean. The staff were helpful, friendly and thoughtful. I picked the hotel for location - I wanted to be in walking distance of Phoenix Park, which it is, through the village of Chapelizod
There is a general air of dilapidation and the hotel could use a spruce up
The location was good for the zoo and the airport and the staff were friendly.
I asked for a travel cot in the original online booking. I confirmed verbally by phone that I needed a travel cot and when called by the hotel the day before to confirm our arrival I again stated that I needed a travel cot. When we checked in there wasn´t any travel cot in the room. When I asked for a travel cot the one they brought (of which they only had two) was too small and they didn´t have any regular cots so we moved to a bigger family room. The 1.5 year old didn´t sleep properly in the bed and so we all had a bad night´s sleep. There was no lock on the bathroom door and I had to fill the bath from the showerhead to bathe the children as the tap was stuck.
friendly staff and atmosphere
possibly more cereal choice for children at breakfast
Very friendly and helpful staff! An excellent breakfast every morning
Relaxing and made to feel welcome by staff
that we didn't stay longer
Hotel was nice, clean. Staff friendly. Good breakfast. Bus stop nearby.
Dinner was so so. Receptionist had NO ideas of directions to local places, she gave wrong info to us & other couples. No soap or shampoo in bathroom.
location and the excellent food. friendly and helpful staff
Shower did not work. The knob for switching the water from the taps to the shower head was jammed. A downer and spoiled our stay as it was a very warm night and we are of the view a shower is a necessity. Pity.
The vicinity and the welfare
- nice, quiet location, beautiful area. - close to the huge Phoenix Park (watch out for the deer) - the rooms were cleaned every day (i know it's supposed to be the norm, but in many, many places it's not) - the staff - always smiling, willing to help. - the breakfast - quite excellent. (the food, in general, was very good) - good quality wi-fi in the room (not only in the lobby or some other area).
- the bathroom shower might need a little updating. - (not really a minus) a little out of the way for those who want to be close to the city center, but there are plenty of buses that stop in front of the hotel. From there to the center it's a max. 15 min bus drive.
The location is easy to reach and is close to Phoenix Park. The rooms are comfortable. The breakfasts are of good quality and quantity.
The bathrooms have only a shower, no bath.
Price adversities and then we were charged way above that no soaps or shampoo in rooms
-location r-excellent food at great prices -willingness of staff to accommodate wishes breakfast - excellent fish and cereals quiet
nothing of importance
Not worth the price that I paid of 100 euro.
We had a wonderful time in Dublin and a very nice stay at the west county hotel. As always in Dublin, you can't help but notice the friendliness of the locals you meet as you travel the city and surrounding area. The bus stop is right outside the hotel, €2.50 into town and the bus driver was a mine of useful information, that was very handy on the day. All in all it was a great stay but I do think the hotel manager could try to be as happy and helpful as his staff, may have just caught him on a bad day. Would I recommendthe west county, yes I would, clean friendly and the foods great too 9-10
