Nice folks that work there, cute, convenient location and clean room with lots of pillows! Wish we had more time to spend in the area, but just a quick nite on way through this time. GPS didn't take us to the door but close enough someone late at nite directed us to it. Their phone apparently had an unexpected problem so we couldn't reach them to inform about coming late, but nice guy waited for us anyway!

JJ makes this place worth a visit. Friendly, full of good tips and good energy. Also a master of getting a good start in the morning. He always had everyone smiling at breakfast and he's a good cook, too. Galway Bay is just across the street; nice walkway along the shore; restaurants, pubs, entertainment < 10 min. walk. Nothing really. Just to note that this is very basic accomodation, possibly best suited to younger travelers. Also, IMO, Galway has little to offer in the way of sightseeing and other points of interest. Best used as a base for exploring surrounding areas.

The White House is located only about a kilometer to the west of the Spanish Arch and so it does not take very long, (it can easily be walked) to get into the restauarants and shops that are are around the area of Quay Street in the town centre, The hotel is like a good standard of B&B although the breakfast is charged seperately but at a very reasonable rate.

Great breakfast. Friendly staff Room wasn't as booked (2 doubles instead of 1 double and 2 singles). However they solved the problem by giving us an additional room.

Proximity to beach and city No heating or hot water. Staff uncooperatve and unhelpful. Room with skylight directly above bed and no functioning blind so awake at 6.15 unable to sleep and in a cold room. Carpet and bed cover dirty. Bathroom cramped and grimey. All in all a horrible night and demanded refund for remaining 4 nights and went elsewhere.

It was easy to find and only a short walk from the city centre. It was warm and comfortable and the breakfast was nice. The volume on the tv was locked so we couldn't hear it very well. There is a dampness problem but it's only a small thing and you get over it.
