The cook was very efficient and friendly. She is a magnificent tourism advertisement and representative for Ireland.
it looks kitschy, really expensive for what it offers
the room was freezing the first night. staff member provided heat for the next 2 nights. I had to defrost for a whole day
The location on Galway bay. Staff very friendly. Good breakfast. Quiet location and just a short walk into town.
Shower was tiny. Towels too old for my liking I only stayed two nights and wanted a basic room and basic is exactly what I got, as I was out most of the time didn't matter too much.
I enjoyed the view of the water.
Because there was a single bed against the window there was no opportunity to sit and enjoy the view from the window. Because the room was close to the kitchen/dining room, it was a good job we did not want to sleep in.
Location in Salthill was good
The room was awful, the bed was pushed to the wall and two lockers were together on one side of the bed, strange set up if you were two people staying there! the headboard was makeshift, with holes and a massive gap between the bed and the headboard, the carpet was filthy and the ensuite bathroom was made was made out of the bedroom, you could see how the toilet was plumbed in, the overhead window over the bed ah no curtain and the mattress was uncomfortable, all in all I was glad I wasn't staying more than one night, and I'm definately glad I didn't try their food! The staff weren't friendly, they made me pay by card and in arrival, they wouldn't take cash, and I was maybe 5 minutes longer in the room at checkout time of 11 am the next morning and there was someone knocking in my door saying check out is 11, checkout is 11! I don't usually write reviews but my experience at this b&b was so bad I felt I owed it to other people to know what it's really like, sorry White House !
The room was spacious and clean comfy bed good location easy access good view of ocean the information folder was good giving a lot in information
phoned the B&B 10 times as got into Galway early and tried to book in earlier than required but no answer, had to wait to be let in, bathroom small badly designed toilet nearly on top of wash basin, shower had more room, very noisy when guests coming in at 2am, not a very homely feeling and didn't really make you feel welcome though we paid extra for breakfast it was cheap products, no choice of bread (brown or white) for toast just white cheap bread as well television was low sound even at it's best had trouble hearing it and had hearing aids up full have had 4 overnight stays in different locations and this was the worst
friendly staff good location good value
Eastern European host who was not very friendly and two of us were given en the wrong room (someone was already in it!)
Great location and very clean
didn't have a homely feel and the room was a bit dated
The booking was made with a discounted deal which made it a fair price. Also, the view from the breakfast room with the winter sunrise was lovely.
We arrived early and wanted to merely drop our luggage and check in 2 hours later, however, even though reception is open from 8:30am till 9:30 pm no one opened the door at 2pm after we rung the doorbell several times. There was merely a note saying that check in is only at 4pm. Next, we had to request additional toilet paper but could not locate the staff in the office. Lastly, our booking was not noted and they had to first search through a pile of papers to find it.
Location, room was spacious
I had to ask for new towels as they provided badly worn, thread pulled towels with bleach patches all over. God knows what they used them for. Although I booked a double room I only got one set of towels. The shower rail was covered in rust and only hand wash is provided, no shower gel or soap.
This is was not first stay at The White House and I chose it for a last-minute overnight trip because I'd had good experiences on my previous two stays a few years ago. I like the general location, which is only a short walk from the Promenade along Galway Bay and also it's only a 10-15 minute walk into the city.(if you don't want to walk there is a city bus service that runs frequently). Breakfast was good and served promptly. Room was very clean, staff very helpful.
There was nothing I didn't like.
Location. It's very central. Only a 10 min walk to salthill.
Staff, facilities and price.
nice & clean, room agreed with webpage pleasant staff
Enjoyed the stay
View to sea, Nescafe and hot water machine, telfonic guidance to location
no clear description of how to find location;very small and hardly comfortable seats
Staff were extremely helpful.
Beds-- should have slept on the floor. Breakfast- basic irish. No yogurt, no. fruit, just bland. Needs a uncluttered common room.
Staff were very pleasant.
Disappointed that we didn't get to have a hot shower :-( We were unaware of early check out...
I had to wait for 20 minutes to get in. The door bell was apparently not working...
On second nite no heat in the bedroom
Location was great, right on the water in salt hill! Affordable with a leisurely 10min stroll to city center.
There does not seem to be enough insulation or ventilation. Our room was flooded with bacon and fried egg smell even though we did not have breakfast there. The noise from the kitchen guarantees that you won't be sleeping in!
Good place to stay and friendly helpful people
Ensuite very small
Good location just outside the City
The web pictures make it look as though you have a great view of the bay. You don't unless you are in the dining room
The location near the sea
The irish breakfast
The Serbian girl (Livia?) was extremely helpful. Cheers!
