From the moment we arrived on the Island the visit was a complete wonderful experience.. Having had a luxury tour bus take us from the pier to Tigh Fitz.. The welcome we received from our host was like no other welcome I've ever gotten.. We were made to feel 'at home'.. Connie is a lovely host.. Couldn't say enough nice things about our short stay at Tigh Fitz except to say that if we visit again, it'll be first choice for lodgings...
-Penny is really nice -recreation room -tasty breakfast
Penny was brilliant, she was so accommodating & very knowledgeable about the Island, nothing was a problem & we felt right at home. The view from our room was beautiful & the breakfast was yummy!
We were three siblings with spouses. We don't often get to sit together with a warm fire and catch up and laugh together. What a wonderful place to have done this!
Penny is such a warm, wonderful host that treats you like you're part of her family. She went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. We recommend Tigh Fitz to everyone. Great taxi service on the island makes it easy to get around.
Quiet location, views over the harbour. Helpful proprietor. Comfortable guest lounge with large TV. Good breakfast
Very little. Quite a long way from the town and port (2.5 k). No Wifi reception in the room, but OK in public rooms.
I strongly recommend Tight Fitz as a place for a relaxing stay. Food is excellent, nutritious. Great place for stay, room with lovely view, neighbourhood is silent, all you can hear are songs of birds. Rooms are clean, tea/coffee set is always filled up <each day>. Penny as an owner is a warm and welcoming person, you don't feel like a stranger there. Transport to and from the hotel can be arranged- we came in the evening so Penny came personnally to take us from the pier.
The only one minus was lack of wifi in room- poor coverage. But strong downstairs in the lounge area
Penny was very welcoming and helpful.
Wifi was a little inconsistent. Beds are "ok" but tired.
-was very comfortable -nice staff -close to airport
-wi-fi in room did not work -appx 25-30 hilly min walk from town -not close to place to eat, but local restaurant would pick you up for dinner
Nice hostess. Away from the hubbub of the town. Easy to get a ride anywhere on the island.
Location, room size, clean, friendly,
Brilliant staff. Fab breakfast.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The bean an tí was lovely and when I made an effort to brush up on my irish she was more than willing to talk to me in our native tongue. The room was clean, comfortable and the staff were very helpful.
The pictures give the illusion of it having a bar but it used to be a bar too. Not a big issuE.
Penny and staff wonderful, really well maintained house, lovely breakfast, loved the walk by the sea into village. We will be back!
Sound of the ocean through open window. Beautiful sunset. Friendly donkeys across the stone wall fence.
Cleanliness Scenery Grub! Lady of the House:)
Not one thing.
The house is a fair distance away from the pier- away from the crowds in town. It can be reached in a 15-20 min. walk or a 5 min. car ride. Room was a bit small but clean. Could not get internet in our room but readily connected on the first floor lounge. Penny is a very warm and delightful hostess. We felt very welcome in her home. Breakfast was made to order and was delicious. Overall, a wonderful stay.
When possible, we preferred to walk everywhere on the island. When the rains set in, the walk to the house was a bit inconvenient - but we just stopped at the Aran Hotel pub and grabbed a beer until the showers passed. If the rains continue, Niles (manager of Aran Hotel) will always give a ride back to Penny's.
Penny the owner was most helpful in arranging transportation for us get around this island. The place is sited well on a harbor with a great view. It is close to town if you are younger and care to walk. The rooms were comfortable. The breakfast were delicious.
There was nothing that I did not like.
The guest house it's a little bit far from the harbor, but Mrs Penny is so amiable and helpful that even 20 min walk are negligible
The Tigh Fitz had a lovely view and location. Penny was very helpful in arranging bikes and setting things up.
There was some confusion with our reservation. So it is worth double checking things. The shower didn't have great pressure and was only lukewarm on our second day.
It was the cleanest place I ever stayed in very friendly and helpful I will be going there againcould
Could be more veggie choice
View to the sea Breakfast
To far away from the Harbour
Penny was very welcoming, as were all the staff. Enjoy our couple of days on the island staying at Tigh Fitz. Staff couldn't do enough for guests. Would stay here again
Peace, scenery, service, breakfast, plus bright and sunny weather!
Nearly an hour's walk to town, although it was easy to get a taxi at any hour. The fact that there is now no bar at the guest house was also disappointing
We were welcomed like we were family! Breakfast was awesome and room and bathroom well appointed and clean. Penny and her staff were charming!
Everything was perfect so I cant think of a thing.
