Location, simplicity and warmth
My stay in the lodge was a pleasant one. The room was great .you get what you pay for and the staff were nice too. I loved how it was so close to town. I will be staying again next time I'm in tralee
The one and only tiny thing was there was no bin in the room.
Friendly staff, (someone had forgotten to write our names on registrar as been booked in, but the guy at reception made no fuss and made us welcome) good and quiet location, ideal as an inexpensive stopover
No hot water in our room for shower (barely lukewarm) this might be okay in Summer but not in the middle of winter, breakfast was at (8-9:30)which we felt was a bit early on Sunday morning as it's not a cooked breakfast and is Self service
Shower was only hot in the mornings.
Convenience. Off street parking. Having kitchen facilities . Shower excellent. Hot water always available in en suite. Wifi availability
No bedside tables, or lamps. Lighting too dim for reading much. While senior staff were good, younger members did not seem to know their responsibilities, so electric kettle in dining area was grossly overfilled and leaking as a result...very dangerous. The younger staff only assisted when knocked up and asked..say for more milk, or water at breakfast time. Our observation would be that a little training would help. Smoking smell was unhealthy, and permeated the rooms, although not allowed.
The staff, room, location were all excellent.
I couldn't get the WiFi to work, and people came home from the bars at 2am and thought it would be funny to knock on the wall for an hour or so.
Staff Room Location
Shared Kitchen and General areas
The manager unlocked and walked into my room without even knocking while I was there
Poor services overall.
Beware you can only have hot showers for 2 hours each day. Wifi signal is horrible in the lobby and when the staff gets overwhelmed they blame you for their problems. Horrible customer service!!
Accommodation was very basic, Breakfast was the worst we had in the seven weeks of travel
Friendly staff great value
Good location in Tralee and ideal for travelling on a cheap budget. Food was nice and staff were helpful.
it was in ideal location in tralee the accommodation was good in the guest lodge
I have stayed in hotels that cost nearly twice as much as Tralee Holiday Lodge and this Tralee Lodge is every bit as good. I had no complaint whatsoever . Would stay again.
location, free wifi, although not the fastest and a bit difficult to connect at times
poor storage space, no tea/coffee making facilities
Owner Matthew friendly and obliging re fresh changes of towels daily
Haphazard breakfast only available 8.30 to 9.30. Insufficient supplies of juice, bread, tea bags, water for kettle, empty jam And marmalade dishes. Needs signage in breakfast prep area
Didn't know it was a hostel... Hot water was available for limited-time 2 hr in morning and 2 for evening. Not very clean, rooms looked old, bad wasn't so comfortable.
Good value for the money. Very nice staff. Very good for backpackers or budget travelers!!! Double bunk beds (for kids).
Very Limited car park. Small family rooms. Limited hours of service although fair.
I've beed here for one night in August with my boyfriend. Room and bathroo quite clean. Sufficiently good value for money.
Bed not so comfortable. When we had our checkin they said we had just 4 hours of hot water per day, so we could have shower just for 2 hours in the morning and two in the evening. No hairdryer.
A bit more room in the bathroom. A television in the room.
Excellent central location in the heart of Tralee.
Going by some previous good reviews and the very cheap rates, we decided to take the plunge and book as we were there only for two always and really back to sleep at night. But it's very very basic and for those on a tight budget. We weren't and therefore I regret booking it. Rooms are tiny with no room to breathe. Bathroom is microscopic. Not enough light in room to read anything - a book, map.........very very basic and budget. Dark coloured linen to mask stains !
we stayed in tralee holiday lodge for 3 nights.it is a very good place for the value of money.staffs are very friendly, but poor english, rooms clean ,small, very close to tesco, facility for cooking .excellent service..if we get a chance would like to stay there..but all staffs are very good and helpful
Really clean Pleasant Staff Cheap and cheerful
Matthew (manager) made every effort to accomodate the guests , including myself , given the large amount of travelers. He arranged and rearranged the rooms and space he had available to him. Had full-staff of young continentals who kept the rooms clean and tidy.
Limited hours for access to the hot water
