Despite the staff doing their best the place is pretty economically run - creating poor service due to overwork. Similarly the interior decoration is aimed at cost reduction, with the radiators turned off and only a blow heater for december.
Very convenient for the city centre. Clean comfortable room. Free WiFi and helpful staff.
The girl on reception was very friendly and we were very pleased to be given an upgrade, our room was quiet large but very cosy I liked the decor which was warm tones and very interesting paintings all around hotel.
Our bathroom was so small in comparison to the bedroom in fact if you were a large person you would have struggle getting into shower.
Location very good - just the right distance to attractions and shops that we wanted to visit. Staff very helpful and pleasant. They even supplied breakfast packs on our last morning (which we hadn't requested) as we were checking out well before breakfast! Lovely, new bathroom with heated towel racks. Comfortable bed and pillows.
The wall and carpet colors in our room a bit too dark, lighter color on wall would transform the room, cushions on bed need updating - fresh, new ones would greatly improve ambience. WiFi not free.
Wonderful small(20 bedrooms-that is how we like it)hotel.Exceptional breakfast which was probably the best we have ever had for the star rating.Unusual and interesting as it is 2 Georgian houses on opposite sides of the road converted into hotel rooms.Perfectly friendly and helpful front desk.Nothing too much trouble.Situated in the centre of Dublin. We are both in our 70,s but were able to walk everwhere without use of taxi etc.although we are very fortunate to be so healthy at our age.Lovely room.very difficult to fault this hotel and we will return
Unfortunately we had a back room and the view over tatty roofs to office blocks was not good. But that is not the fault of the hotel!
Location, central but quiet.
Draughty room, hard bed and pillows, scratched furniture, spartan shower, boiling hot tap, breakfast starting at 8.30am on Sunday (had to miss), TV not working (helpful receptionist gave us free wifi instead), general tired appearance of room.
friendly staff great breakfast large room
although totally satisfactory the bathroom in my room would benefit from updating
The hotel room it's self was really good. Large clean room
Breakfast was a farce they told you times for breakfast so we went in at 09.00 and found a queue to get in the breakfast room and was told we should've come down earlier or come back later by the rude waitress, when we finally sat down and gave our order which we both had the eggs benedict only one came out and was barked at that we had only ordered one which was ludicrous so had to wait for mine. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED cos manners and service doesn't cost anything and go a long way if right. Would stay here again for the location but would eat out for breakfast.
bed was very comfortable. food was great. staff were excellent
could have done with a lift as we were on top floor
The receptionist was a delight and very helpful .the bedrooms and bathroom excellent , very nice ! Grt location for out of Towners , as everything around it
The breakfast , waiting to be served. Ordered full Irish , and got it after 30mins wait. That was after we got our tea and toast , so defeated the whole purpose , service was terrible !!! And it wasn't busy !
I loved the location. However be careful you know in advance that there is a North and South federick street.
Room size, heating, view and to finish it breakfast. I was disappointed as looking at the images I thought I was booking a fancy night in a hotel. I also was then backed up but the price as in this location there was other options similar rate. However it must be the difference in a Classic and a Delux as my room was nothing like any of the images. We struggled with the heat of the room all night, also the bathroom was very large but then the shower was very small, which I found strange. Breakfast we ordered the salmon but there was a funny smell of it and didn't look very fresh. I realise it is City prices but this was a big disappointment, I wouldn't say it's the worst place I have stayed but for the price it was. If I want to stay at this standard I don't except this price. Not worth more than 80€ a night maximum
Fantastic location, breakfasts were very good. Hotel and room were elegant and tastefully decorated. we were in room 3.
Room above ours had squeaky floorboards so we could hear anyone walking around.
Location Breakfast was great
No internet included
Great location. Fantastic breakfast. Warm and quiet.
Nothing. It was a nightmare.
Here is what we got for 4 stars at E130 per night: No lift, 2 flights of stairs. No bellman. No security. No one to answer phone after 10pm. Dirty room. Pictures on web title page were breathtakingly beautiful, but in real life the room was horrible. We had to put our luggage in the bathroom just to get into bed. View was vile, overlooking mechanical equipment through a dirty window shade. No refund when we moved to another hotel.Just a ghastly experience.
We were very late arriving because of a delayed flight. We kept in contact with the hotel throughout the journey. The receptionist was excellent and waited until 11.30 at night for us to arrive.
Location Breakfast - Excellent Room was good
No night time reception Staff
Booked a single room and was most certainly just for 1 single bed was tiny!! It was on the top floor without a lift do luckily I had little luggage for just a 1 night stay
breakfast was of good quality and the shower was very practical easy to use
all the stairs we were on the 3rd floor.
Service was very good, spacious room . Breakfast was superb.
Welcoming and helpful reception staff. Good choice for breakfast.
There was noise from outside nearby premises eg emptying of glass bottles into bins.
Loved the building, tastefully decorated.Great breakfast and amazing location.Staff fantastic and remembered me from last visit.Would recommend this hotel to anyone-so different from big, anonymous hotels!
everything was excellent
The convenience of being so near start and finish of Marathon.
Disappointed with weather on last day, was hoping to go to Guinness, but could not because of it.!! Went to Airport instead and had a 5hour wait for flight.
